No new dog for her. She is incapable of caring for one properly. Sorry that's harsh, but actions speak louder...

Have you noticed any differences?
I really am interested in how you're doing.

I will see Connie this am..NO New Dog is right. I think Gizmo was urinating inside on the rug for a while before she noticed. That is a sure diabetes sign..I'm sure he had it for a very long time with all that damage done to his kidneys and liver.

Well, I think my bladder is less irritated. I'll find out next week if I passed this. I did have some non-organic milk..a tiny bit, but hope it didn't throw me off.. But, i haven't had any meat..I'm bringing my thyroid meds there to see if I'm allergic to them..Good gravy!!!

Mammogram tomorrow..Whopee..I'm in Coffeyville for all of these things.

Good luck! Hope it all goes well.
Geesh I need to get a mammogram, too.

First things first: Replace phone!

Well, guess who met me at the door at Connie's house? A small pomerian! However, this dog is a very sweet rescue and a good size for her. She looked like Gizmo, but much smaller. Someone dropped her off in town and AWOL picked her up. Oh well..

Definitely replace phone!!!!! How is that going?

So frustrating.
I have to downgrade so I can limp along until I get another stupidly expensive phone.
I also want to switch DH to my plan - it's MUCH better coverage and he hates his iPhone. I hate it too because neither of us is familiar with it - none of our kids, either. LOL
I'm sure if we'd all had iPhones all this time we'd love it.

I've had such a big phone for these years and now I'll have a 5.2" screen.
First world problems!

I guess Connie can feed a rescue. She just can't care for a sick dog...Poor Gizmo.

As long as you can text and get phone calls.... grumble. Hope you can have a happy ending to the Phone Adventure.

I told Connie that she could not care for a diabetic dog. It is a full time job and she is not equipped for that. So I told her to get Izzy some quality dog food, preferably soft, but she won't do that, I'm sure.

Gary mowed the lawn yesterday! Too soon for that I think.

Oh my gosh - you are the nicest, sweetest person I have ever known in real life.
Honestly, to be a real friend to her, as you have been, I am ashamed of myself.
You are certain to have your crown in heaven, and I am not kidding.

The previous nicest sweetest person I've known in real life is my step daughter. She is honestly so kind. But Carolyn....you are taking the cake! May God bless you richly!

You are so sweet...I try to tell the truth.. Anyway, Connie told me that Izzy was bleeding slightly. I said I think she is heat. Call the vet today! So you don't have to call the Midwife later on.

Well, got my mammo..ouchie. Then I went to the acupuncture gal. She has a program for appetite control. I have little needles in my ears and I'm supposed to rub the spots before I eat. I'll go back next week.

Our neighbor made Gary a sugary peanut butter pie for letting her borrow the chainsaw. I am going to throw the rest away after we each had 2 pieces.. Gary gained a pound!
It was soooo sweet. Funny how sweet things taste when you haven't had sugar for a while.

Judy, your kind words made my day.

Well, I think I am spot on about you, dear Carolyn.
You are who you are!

I agree with you - sweet things are nearly too sweet when you haven't had sugar for awhile!

I have, in my past life, done a LOT of training in alternate therapies.
I think the places you are supposed to rub may really be correct!
We used to "anchor" people for certain "states of being" they wanted.
Same thing, sounds like.
Go with it!

Yeah for you, Sandy!

Well, I have to have another mammo tomorrow and maybe an ultrasound. The tech warned me that they have new radiologists and I might get a call. My dr upped my estrogen/progesterone and things have been more tender, so I'm hoping that it is. She said there was some change in my left one from last year! Can't feel a lump, so am hopeful and thankful I got in tomorrow. Then we will head for Wichita to stay with skinny brother and sister inlaw and go to a wedding on Saturday.

I love your way of eating, too, Sandy! I have not been as OMAD as I wish, but I'll get there.

Carolyn I hope you have an ultrasound. I've had a few false positives and so far they were resolved in an ultrasound. I hope so for you.

Have a nice visit and best wishes to the wedding couple!

Yes, I too had a false positive many years ago and the ultrasound confirmed it was nothing. Sure makes you anxious though until you get it behind you.

Cold weekend for a wedding. Are we ever going to have spring????

Scarlet texted me. She is at a Forensics meet. She was hoping to make State, but she doubted if this would happen. I reminded her it was her first year. Competition is fierce!!

She got all A's except 2 B's!! Good for her.

Judy and Sandy, Scarlet is the sweetest, most polite young lady you might ever meet! Her parents did a great job raiding her. All the teachers that I see that know her have amazing things to say about her.

Her plans are to go to ICC, then transfer to a 4 year school. She wants to be a nurse, and she would have the compassion for that.

I had my mammo and ultrasound. The radiologist came in to tell it was 2 cysts. Not to worry, but come back in 6 months for a recheck. Much relieved.

And I was just reading that cysts can form in post menopausal women taking hormone replacement. She upped my estrogen this summer and excess estrogen can be a cause, so I'm going to take a week off, then start with my lower amt. I'll go see her in a couple of weeks.

Well, I'm stopping my estrogen and testosterone until my hormone dr sees the ultrasound.
Have an appointment May 1, so it won't do any harm, I'm sure.

Well, I am being treated for mold. I was having shots for mold previously and obviously after 18 months, I still am allergic. So, hopefully this will work. It's a nice sunny day, so that is good..

How many shots do you get for mold?
Or maybe I should say, how often?
I sure hope it works.

Leaving with a girlfriend Thursday to drive to Abilene to visit another friend. Return Sunday.

My new phone is supposed to arrive tomorrow.
I resisted a smart phone for SO long.
Then I resisted a GOOD smart phone for SO long.
And when the new phone comes tomorrow I'll be back to being mesmerized by my phone. I've missed it.

Hello!

I post over at JUDDD and I have hearing loss. I put in the search box "hearing aid" and your thread and posts came up!

I got mine just before Christmas, so far so good. I did having aids before but these are so much better. I wear mine from about 8 am to noon each day and when we go to church or visiting relatives I wear them all day then.

I went with dh to his dr appointment and his dr was telling us that he wears his all day at work, but when he gets home he takes them out because he said he has heard enough!

Last weekend our ds was here Friday thru Monday. I wore them each day all day long!!! At night when I took them out and plugged in the phone I could hardly hear the phone! My feeling is the longer I wear them in a day the more I lose my hearing - like my hearing is leaving me!! Hard to explain that, but as the days go on I can then hear a bit better without the aids in!

So far I am more then happy with them, I do have trouble with tv. Way too much background music.

So, the reason for my post - any web sites you may know of for those of us wearing an aid? Any suggestions for tv? I would love a place to ask and answer questions.

Thanks for reading this and sorry for the thread jack!

Leona

Hi!

Dh got fancy hearing aids that he is hitched up to his phone somehow and it can adjust the volume, too. He can also adjust the background noise in restaurants, etc. He wears his hearing aids most of the time. He has a super audiologist/doctor who answers all sorts of questions. Maybe your natural hearing shuts down when your hearing aids are in place, then it takes a while to get them on board. Unfortunately hearing never gets better, but hearing aids vary from kind to kind. Background noise can be a problem. There might be a support group online, or your manufacturer might have some advice.

On the mold subject.. I got shots for a whole year every week, now I am once a month and it seems like mold was part of the mix.

Safe travels to Abilene. Should be a fun trip!!! Enjoy your new phone!! You will enjoy your good smart phone!

Sandy, I'm leaning toward McCormicks.. it has a lovely menu!!

My last phone was awesome. Until it wasn't.
Lasted 2-1/2 years, which maybe is normal. I don't know.

This next phone is not as awesome, but it will be fine until I want to spend $1000 on a phone. Which I do not want to do.

I got a Moto X4. I'll get a discount of $250 because I got one for Bowe, also and he's coming over to my plan. It's so inexpensive and having just traveled to both coasts, Canada, and the middle of the country, it's a great, inexpensive service. It's Google Fi. You only pay for the data you use. I'm not suggesting you change carriers, but that's pretty much the only affordable phone in their plan right now.

They limit the types of phones you can use with their service. If you're an iPhone person, your stuff is probably backed-up perfectly anyway and you'll just get a new iPhone. If you're an Android person, I have no idea how to advise you. I only chose this phone because it was the least expensive option. So far it looks and acts great.

All the reviews say the phone is laggy and I know how frustrating that is. I took a few pictures with Bowe's iPhone and they were all great. So I know I won't adore having this phone for long, but I need a phone, Sandy!!! I neeeeed it!!!

But we shall see.....
