Haven't lost in 6 weeks

All suggestions will be appreciated! What can I do to get the scale moving again? What has actually worked for you? I've read tons of articles on the subject but would like to hear actual results.

The tape measure is moving but I like to see it on the scale too. I'm open to anything except another egg fast

Exercise!

If you already workout maybe increase the intensity and/or duration of your workouts. Intermittent Fasting is a great way to keep the scale and inches coming off. The tape measure moving is a great thing!

If the tape measure shows inches lost you are losing fat. Much better than the scale that moves but the tape measure doesn't. You are not stalled. The scale just needs more time to catch up.

I'm not sure what/how you eat but there are lots of things you can do to shake things up. Eliminate all processed foods and/or AS; cut all dairy; do not eat anything two days in a row - if you eat it today, do not eat it tomorrow. Intermittent fasting.

Other things that have worked for me in the past - increasing calories, if you count and keep them low. If you exercise and have not taken a break in a long time, if ever, cut all exercise for 1-2 weeks. Get more sleep. Drink more water - plain water, nothing added.

Stick it out, I hovered at 170 for 8 weeks. Scale finally started moving again.

Inches are great but if your like me...nothing beats that scale moving!!! I agree with cutting out the processed food. Sausage, Nut's, Jerky, Cheese. Try Meat, Fish and Green Veg. for a few day's. I drink Green Tea also Dandelion Root Tea that seems to help me with retaining fluid. Exercise has really helped me. I believe it has kept me from stalling so much, it's another tool. Shake up your system!! Lot's of Pure Water will flush out any leftovers from the processed food. You have lost a lot of weight Chris. Your Body may be used to what your eating and it may need a good old fashioned kick in the keister!!!!

I'm going to have to agree with Gibbs on that being some scary advice.

Could your sodium be too high?
Do you get 10-12 cups of water?
Med changes?
Have you already lost alot in a short time?

Do you track calories too? If you're having lots of cheese/bacon and other sub-20 goodies, that might be impacting it? Not sure. Why not eat the same thing for a week, 3 balanced, unprocessed meals, only water, and see how that works (might be easier than an egg fast). Just ideas. I've stalled the last six weeks too, but with good reason, unfortunately.

I agree with this generally. You could also look at circadian rhythmns and its effect on weight. Even if you don't buy into it, its free to give things a go.

I cut dairy last week and bam steady losses again since. Also another get the scale moving is a 3 day potato hack. Even less enjoyable than an egg fast but it's never failed me yet. And after every potato hack I kept losing, adding in eggs the first day after, for dinner, then chicken the second day. Only thing you have to lose is losing! Pick something and give it a whirl. Even 3 days will probably be enough to give the body a jolt.

I could easily live off of chicken for 3 days.

Sodium, probably, I've been a sf seed addict for a while! They're so easy to snack on.

Carbs are the only thing I count. I'd hate to know the grams of fat on the bunless bacon cheeseburger smeared with mayo!!

I'll probably do a 3 day of something this weekend to give it a jolt. Thanks all!!

I fully agree with Deb. Dr. A. said a stall was defined as "no loss of weight OR INCHES in 6 weeks" - if you're losing inches, you're not stalled.

It's too bad we're so intent on seeing those numbers on the scales go down because it does NOT tell the whole story. Losing inches, like Deb said, means you are actually losing FAT and that's what you want to lose, right? Right??!

Fasting has worked for me in the past. Be careful about 'calorie restriction'. It can work negatively and can be really difficult to reverse. Another method (I have not tried but may sometime soon) is to do a meat fast - meaning just eat meat.

Find a substitute for cheese. Salami maybe? Something that you can nibble on, but will use more sparingly than cheese.
