Good morning beauties

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Aug 31 161.6

Sept Goal 158

Sept 5 165
Sept 6 164
Sept 7 163.2
Sept 8 162.8
Sept 9 163.4
Sept 10 162.6
Sept 11 164

So upset with the scale. We had dinner at my sister in law's house yesterday. Her and my brother in law just bought a house but he is deployed in Japan and she wanted some family time. They are expecting their first baby in December and I can't wait. Anyways she had a table full of goodies (cookies, chips and tons of chocolate candy) I did great and only snacked on carrots with ranch dressing. When she served dinner I had a chicken breast in a lemony gravy sauce, string beans and a small salad with ceaser dressing. Well, my brother in law asked about the chicken and she said it was called French chicken and she learned to make it at a cooking class recently. She explained how it was made and low and behold the chicken was dipped in flour and then egg. I was so disappointed that I didn't know this ahead of time. I probably should have asked. . Then the dessert cakes and pies came out and I had a slice of cheesecake and a Reese's peanut butter cup. I should have just stayed away from the dessert and the jump on the scale would not have been so high but I was bummed and figured "why not". It was a bad decision but one that I have to live with. Today is a new day and I will do better.

Here's to a new day and new week with new opportunities to do better. Have a great day beauties

you guys are cracking me up with the donut talk. I could totally see myself eating four Krispy Kreme's. They are so tempting. But donuts of any kind are a huge temptation to me. I love donuts, lol. There is just no lc substitution for those.

These had the icing I so much. I'm done though. Just wasn't worth the upset stomach this morning. I'm paying for it.

kimmie I am the same. It doesn't matter how long I stay on plan, the craving for sugar never goes away. I've always been a big sweets person. So its a daily struggle for me.I used to make the cream cheese Danish thing a lot and have it with a little whip cream but I got tired of them. I do buy the bryers low carb ice cream and its really good. I'll eat it with a couple tbsp. of peanut butter and it makes a great sweet snack. I'd rather have a donut though, lol

I like the chocolate bark with coffee. It seems to satisfy me when I want sugar...Now the chocolate bark has turned into Fat Bombs.

MSNLA Welcome!!

DOTTIE ARE YOU OKAY?????
our friends in Tampa just had their roof blow off their house
They are okay but the nightmare they are living thru
It has me so stressed
Daddy has neighbors in Venice who stayed
He hasnt heard from any of them yet
Let us know how you are doing PLEASE

PAM Praise God for your healing
Continuing to pray that you will move in this direction MORE AND MORE
I feel i am moving to health as i am experiencing less pain than i used to
I think because i dont eat sugar ice cream anymore has helped
I am fairly certain i have some type of abcess where a cyst busted in my intestinal area
Thats my worst pain since last oct when it busted then it escalated in pain by JAN 17 and its a HELL Pain
Drink lots of water for your swelling and if allergic benedryl works very well
I cant eat a lot of nuts many ppl are allergic to peanuts they are legumes i think
Almonds and walnuts are safest for most ppl
I drink Almond milk every day never had a problem and i am Ms Allergic to half the foods on the planet
Keep HEALING PAM XX

KT for me if i drink alcohol on a regular basis
And eat low carb i cant really maintain under 146/148 range
in my situation i think its a calorie thing more than anything else
I drink Champagne.. only at disney i drink beer
Once in a blue moon i will have beer in a restaurant
But then i just eat a salad for dinner
When i switched to low carb years ago i promised myself no more regular daily
or even weekend beers
At that time i drank 2-4 Amstel Lites every single day of my life
No Exaggeration
And i was on a High Carb low fat daily diet
The beer kept me from being ravenously starving on such a crappy diet
I was also a gym rat back then
I made the switch to wine/liquor because its way lower in carbs
But when i had a bf before i got married he was very social
And we both drank all the time as a result
I didnt drink beer
when i met him i was a low carber and no longer drinking beer
And it was champagne for me
I consumed a lot of xtra champagne calories
I have Irish ancestry and we can drink a LOT
Especially if i drink daily or near daily
And usually weighed at least 139 ..usually More
This week i didnt drink but i consumed extra low carb calories
I only lost a few ounces of fat
Whereas i usually lose 1 or 2 lbs of fat a week
Regardless of what ppl like to think about the magic of low carb
I know for me Calories still count so maybe thats all it is for you
Beer is extra calories AND extra carbs
The Best way to find out about this lifestyle is to be sure you Know what you are
putting in your body and be aware
And learn by personal experience trial and error
I think if you cut the beer you might be able to cure your sweet tooth
It took me a few years of strict low carb around 40-60 net carbs a day
To actually stop my cravings and cure my body of the carb addiction
I hope you find your keys soon
Its very frustrating to try and try and not get the results you are looking for
Good Luck with getting your class/book sorted out

KELLY More Exercise?
Bodyfat percentage is more important than scale weight
As ppl of same scale weight but diff bodyfat
Fit in diff sized clothing
My sister sugar is very muscular
Her bodyfat is always much lower than most in the same ht/wt category
And she fits in much smaller sizes than most with same weight/height
Scale number is a rough guide
GOOD FOR YOU CHEATING WITH LOW CARB!!!

SUSAN my husband lives outside of San Fran
However he works in San Francisco every day
I spoke to him and he is not worried about it
I felt better after i called him it always helps me to talk to him
Not like i could do anything for him if i were there though
Obviously they evacuate as areas became dangerous
We dont own a home in california
Our home is in TN so we dont have to worry about property damage in cali
Unless the Roof of our tn home blows off when we get the winds from Irma
We had flooding down the street from harvey hurricane
Flooded some apartments and their entire parking lot
then the neighborhood next to us was evacuated bc of Harvey
So were other areas evacuated and all of downtown
Back in 2010 floods all of that neighborhood right next to ours
was flooded and ppl were using boats and canoes to get to their homes
Tn Valley is a BOWL that gets filled up fast if it rains hard
We had our roof patched a few years ago
But we never had it replaced the roof is over 30 years old
Not sure how safe it is esp since we have a lot of tornadoes here
I am still stressed and prolly wont feel normal til after Irma has dissipated
My father has a house in venice Luckily he is up here In TN during Irma
Some of his neighbors stayed though and i dont think the storm surges have come yet
Tampa bay is DRY as i understand it The Water pulled back just like in a Tsunami
Sounds Terrifying as it has to come back
Effects of Irma will hit us tonight i just pray it doesnt flood
We have a creek in our backyard that turns into a raging river when it rains
We JUST got the outside of our house painted and more we just had the floors
on our first floor redone ..hate to see them ruined so soon after putting them down
Atlanta is getting it right now they had to close off Peach because of things flying off buildings

ENTIRELY MY FAULT

I am a stress eater always have been
I have eaten everything in sight all week
I dont think i overate but i have felt Ravenous
Something i dont feel on low carb often
Its stress and i have not been sleeping well at all
I have been sleeping only a few hours
The intensity of the stress i feel is almost more than i can bear
I am not having severe physical pain only moderate
And i am SO GRATEFUL that i am not during all this emotional stress

To make it all worse i didnt do any exercise at all
The only thing i did was Squats on Monday
In fact i have hardly done any housework
I have been online watching Irma a Lot and on the phone
I have wasted the week away with worry

Well, I'm mad at the scale too. I did really well at girls' night out, stay totally on plan although I had a few more drinks than I planned. A friend had brought champagne for a birthday toast so I said yes, and well, that's how it goes. But I was really good yesterday, I feel much less bloated, so I was totally shocked by the scale this morning. Well, as so many of you have said, our bodies adjust the way they want to. I'm trying to focus on that, but it was so sad to see those 150's disappear!!

Well good morning everybody,

Hubby left for a week trip so it's me and the kids now. Pretty easy with good foods in the house. Steak tonight I forgot he was going when I went shopping so I had his steak for lunch yesterday, darn to bad right? You all cracked me up. I am glad I don't like donuts( I know I am weird like that), but the image in my head was priceless. I was expecting at least to be in the 175's this am so the scale was disappointing for me too. Off to get my blood work done.

Ok everybody looks like we need some pep talks. We can do this. Just ignore what happened and move on. Make today a good day on plan. Wishing everybody good luck on the scale tomorrow.

Fembomb - Thank you. My pain is pretty good this last week. So glad.....

Good morning lades! The scale was up .4 this morning but I was kind of expecting that. Not too bad though considering beer usually bumps me up a pound or two at least. I did drink lots of water both days though so hopefully that helped.

I made some mock fried apples with jicama last night. I didn't think they were very good. They never got soft like apples do. They had an okay flavor after I added everything to them but I just didn't love them. DD said they were good and had me save them. I had planned to eat them warm over lc ice cream. I guess that's what she'll do.

Fem - yea beer always bumps me up. But I don't have it regularly anymore. That was the first beer I had in a couple weeks. I had made a point not to drink. But it was the opening day of football and I really just wanted some beer. I ate way low carb all day to help offset it and bought miller 64 which is not only low carb but really low calorie too. Not awesome beer but good enough to satisfy my craving.

Susan - you've still got plenty of time to meet your goal for the month, don't let the slip up knock you off course, you've got this!

Pam - its definitely easier when you are cooking for less people, hope you have a great week!

hi, all!. Early post for me because the golf course, that I work at is hosting the New Mexico Open - it's a big deal - and I have to be there at 6. It will be a fun day.

You guys made me smile - I've never told anyone about the donut incident and you helped me re-framč it as humorous. Those binges are so rare these days, which I totally attribute to my clean/low carb way of eating. I have a history of eating disorders and it wasn't until I went low carb + intermittent fasting that have been able to have a somewhat normal relationship with food. I'm a normal weight and people make comments like "you don't understand, you've always been thin" or they focus in on what I eat and make judgmental comments - no one knows my struggles and it has taught me not to judge others by what I see on the outside. You just never know what someone is dealing with.

TUESDAY

Good Morning Ladies!

I bit the bullet and weighed in this morning. 225. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I made all good choices yesterday.

We had breakfast for dinner last night~~~so I made me a ham and cheese omelett. It was wonderful!

Today's Meals:
2 egg and bacon muffins with cream cheese
chicken with salad and ranch and cheese
Dinner? Haven't decided yet.

Pam - thanks for the pep talk, you're exactly right. I just need to move on, quit fretting, and do what I need to do. You're the best!!

The donut story is cracking me up, I'm not a donut person but for me it would be chocolate chip cookies. I have one, and it's all over, I have had twenty. Seriously. That's actually been the best part of this WOE for me, realizing that sugar and I just can't be friends. Lots of people can do it, but not me.

I'm okay with the scale because I'm feeling thinner and much less bloated. I will probably need to revise my September goal, but I'm going to keep it there for a while to motivate me. This past weekend also confirmed what I really knew, which is there's no way for me to have alcohol and keep losing. I just need to put a halt to it for a good month or two to get down to where I want to be, then phase it back in gradually. I'm doing fine for maintenance, but I'm not at a maintenance weight, so I have to be realistic.

I'm off to a luncheon today. I ordered salmon, but I'm nervous about the glase or toppings it will have, so I'm planning to eat some good LC food beforehand and then just nibble lightly on the salmon. I'm ready for a good whoosh!!

Hi All,

Late post for me today as I am in a 3-day team meeting at work. Still stalled but I have been on plan. Weight up slightly today but I also feel like my rings are tight. Must be PMS.

I planned ahead for this meeting because of course they catered in lunch today - sandwiches, chips and desserts. I brought salami and cheese, and cheese crisps, and I stopped at dunkin' donuts and got a sausage egg and cheese sandwich with no bun to eat before the meeting so I wouldn't be tempted by the inevitable pastries they had catered! My only splurge... two strawberries. I've been doing well so far!

Casey - I loved your post. Especially the part where you said "people make comments like "you don't understand, you've always been thin" or they focus in on what I eat and make judgmental comments - no one knows my struggles and it has taught me not to judge others by what I see on the outside. You just never know what someone is dealing with." I for the most part was always been thin until I got into my mid 20's (I'm 36 now). One day my metabolism just stopped working the way it did when I was an active teenager and early-20 something and that was a huge struggle for me. The more I would try to deny that my body just didn't handle food the way it did when I was younger, the more unhealthy my relationship with food became. I started trying for the first time to lose a little weight (at the time I only needed to lose like 10 or 20 pounds) around age 27. But I tried restricting calories at that time and it just wasn't sustainable and I gained it all back. Then I had my daughter, worked to lose the baby weight, and then maintained for a while until the unhealthy habits started creeping back. And that brings me to where I am today. It doesn't matter that I was once naturally thin... it definitely doesn't happen now for me unless I consciously work at it every day. Like you said, it's frustrating when people judge. Because I am thin now, people assume that I don't truly have real issues with food, but it couldn't be farther from the truth!

Happy Tuesday!

Just a quick post while the kids are napping. Dealing with the keto flu today and feeling tired and headachy. Last night I had the worst leg cramps what is it I need to do for leg cramps? This feeling should remind me not to cheat ever.

How is everyone doing? Yesterday my 5 year old started Kindergarten so I have 2 in school and 2 still at home. I keep getting asked what am I going to do with all this free time? I am like what I still have a 3 year old and a 1 year old at home its not like I am on vacation. I am just praying I can get them to nap at the same time so I can walk on the treadmil. Oh well I am just cranky

Late post today. I feel horrible again. My body aches so bad and I haven't had the energy to do anything. I am starting to get concerned that this may be more than a fibromyalgia flare up since I have never experienced this much pain at once. I'm off to bed and will hopefully catch up with everyone tomorrow. Good night

Hi, Kelly - I totally agree. I was 39 when I first went low carb but after menopause (52-ish) I found that what had worked before didn't work any more and weight crept up a bit. Intermittent fasting and eliminating snacking helps, but if I get on the high end of my range I do track and watch calories as well as carbs. But if I'm in my range I don't worry about calories and just keep carbs low.

Hi, Nichole - try potassium supplements for leg cramps and/or use Mortons lite salt, which is potassium based.

Casey - I'm starting to think that may be my issue actually. It may not be a stall, but rather I'm just maintaining. I've been steady on plan but my calories have been on average higher these past few weeks even though my carbs are low. Not sure why, subconsciously I guess that's what my body has needed. Glad to see I can maintain successfully, it's just at a slightly higher weight than I would like. I think with a little tweaking I can get back to my ideal range again, and now I know what to do to maintain. It's tricky dialing it all in!!

Hello everyone. I've sure missed you guys. I've been on a vacation to Biloxi and New Orleans. I had a great time but I sure did not stay low-carb and may have overdone it a tad with french toast every single morning. In any case, I'm back and looking forward to sticking to the plan ... gained quite a bit back but I know it'll come back off again.

Menu:
B: Shake
L: Turkey and cheese roll-up, cherry peppers
D: Steak, brussels sprouts

6-5: 273.5
6-30: 253.8
7-31: 244.0
8-31: 238.1

Sept. goal: Stay on plan and stop cheating!!!!
9-1: 236.2
9-2: 237.4
9-5 237.2

9-13 243.8 (RESTART AFTER VACATION)

Ameenah, I'm so sorry about your pain. I hope it passes soon and you're able to figure out what is going on with your body.

Pam, congrats on the drop!

Nihold, that would make me grumpy too! I remember those days of trying to coordinate naps so you can have a little quiet time!

Khay, hope the weight drops off quickly for you!

Kelly, sounds like you are figuring out your body and what it needs, what it wants to do.

I had a rough day of eating on Monday. Yesterday was good. I get discouraged and don't want to post, but it is a good practice to just come and post daily even if I don't have a good report. I started reading this book before, and it is really good. It's called Emotional Eating Rescue Plan. I never finished the 4 week plan, but I'm going to do it now. It will probably take longer than 4 weeks since I have some trips coming up, but I will just keep at it. I am realizing that part of my issue is not following through with things. I start and stop, start and stop. I'm going to finish the full 4 weeks of exercises, come hell or high water!! I'll update on what I'm doing and learning. This first week you practice writing for 15 minutes, at least 3 times in the week, doing a mindful eating log at least 3 days, and spending at least 10 minutes doing a mindful activity that connects you to yourself at least 3 times. One of the key things she has talked about so far is that we have many hungers in life, and only one of them is for food. When we are numbed out our knee-jerk response is to go to food as the cure for the current hunger. Bringing awareness to your day helps you connect with what you're really hungry for - could be affection, connection, meaning, excitement, etc. It was really helpful when I worked on this before.

My plan is to have another on track day today and then weigh tomorrow I am going to Walla Walla with my sister and mom Thursday-Saturday, so I won't be posting for a bit.

It's been good to be back to work. Yesterday I subbed in my kids' old high school. Kinda fun sitting in and listening to the teachers talk and get refreshed on my math skills and such! Hope everyone has a great day.

Good afternoon beauties

Pam First off, congrats on the nice loss. Secondly, I was tested for lupus years ago, probably 8-10 years but I may need to check with my doctor again. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia shortly after but my symptoms have never been this bad. I have a really sore neck, back and hips and I wake up with pain in my ankles. Last night hubby rubbed my back and I was able to sleep only after taking a naproxen and muscle relaxer. I woke up in less pain but still not feeling like myself. Continued success to you

khay2015 Happy to hear that you enjoyed your vacation. You have the right attitude about the gain. Jump right back in and you will see losses rather quickly. Welcome back

Alene Thank you so much. I find that when I post daily I am definitely more accountable because I don't want to report my mishaps. Remember this is a no judgement zone. Your new plan seems great. Keep us posted.

Feeling a little better. I was scheduled for my boots injections today but had to reschedule due to how crappy I was feeling. I can't imagine getting injected in my head with such a bad headache and neck soreness. Getting ready to soak in some Epsom salt for a little bit to see if that helps. Have a great day beauties

hi, Alene - that book sounds interesting - I'll see if I can get it from the library. I read a book several years ago that was life-altering for me - A New Earth by Eckart Tolle - that taught me to "be present" and not always thinking about what's coming up, making lists or re-hashing something in my head. I have found that (of all things) pulling weeds, a morning walk and doing counted cross stitch really calm me and I'm so focused and in the moment - paying attention to sounds, breeze on my skin and thinking positive, thankful thoughts. I also journal - years ago I didn't want to journal because I was worried about someone reading it. Then I developed a funny way of writing to put a positive spin on whatever was going on - and now when I read older journal entries, I can remember exactly what was going on, but there's no negativity attached to it. I'm currently reading The Obesity Code (Fung) and Whole30.

kimmiejean Happy to hear that things are going well for you. I too find YouTube videos very motivating.

Casey I need to start doing some more reading. I used to find it so calming and used to go to the library weekly with my oldest granddaughter and I haven't been in years. It's definitely a hobby I need to pick back up. I often look at journals when I am out shopping and always say I am going to start journaling but never do. Glad you are doing well. And by the way, I can totally relate to your donut story.

Nihold Thanks for the well wishes. I actually took a warm bath with Epsom salt earlier and it really helped relieve the pain. I also didn't do much all day except cook an early dinner and put a load in the washer and dryer. I really need to take it easy when I am feeling better instead of trying to take advantage of my good days by doing too much which results in multiple bad days. Nice loss

Happy to say that I am feeling better this evening. I substituted my evening coffee with a cup of green tea. I plan on cutting back on some dairy and caffeine to see if it helps. Have a great night beauties

Good morning all,

A friend of the family's passed away Monday unexpectedly. Hubby is out of town but I will be going to the funeral today. So sad, he was a good man. My dogs kept waking me up last night all night to go out. UGH. I am not sure I slept more than a few hours total. So up on the scale. I can't believe how this water weight comes and goes. I am so tired of this. I want to lose, but it's just not working. I have checked with the ketosis sticks everyday like Kelly does and they are the highest purple. I know I have medical stuff, but seriously I want some weight to come off or whats the point. I mean I am not eating cake, cookies, or donuts. Maybe that's what I need to start to do, And on top of all this somebody got in a accident and hit 4 electric pole and blew up a transformer behind my house. We were out of power all yesterday from 9am-5:30pm. I got nothing done. Worst part now some things don't work in the house, outlets, front lights etc. I want hubby home

Goal - 167

Menu:
B - coffee, hwc, stevia, hard boiled egg

Good morning ladies! I never got a chance to check in yesterday, school is kicking my butt so far. I have two big assignments due this week and worked all day yesterday and then the kids had church/awanas and I used that hour to go get a pedicure, it was overdue.

The scale was down a tiny bit yesterday then back up today. I don't think I ate enough yesterday though. I didn't have breakfast then for lunch I had a salad but it was just lettuce, olives, cheese and dressing. Which was yummy but I didn't have any protein. Then when I had dinner the chicken was too fatty and I couldn't eat it so I just ate the green beans and I didn't have many of those. I did have low carb ice cream twice which I know was not a good choice even if its within my carb limit. Today my goal is to eat three meals again because that seemed to work well for me. Especially when the first one is eggs cooked in coconut oil.

hi, Pam - it's baffling - your menus look perfect - I wonder what's up... You might not be eating enough fat or protein? I don't track macros the way some do, but that might be an idea. Or a egg/fat fast to shake things up. At least you know/understand that it's not that the diet isn't working - and things would go much worse if you threw in the towel and left low carb. Especially with your pain issues. I'm trying to get my mom to try a low carb / anti-inflammation way of eating, but she "just can't." But that's her standard response to everything - I can't I can't I can't. It's exhausting - my parents are both 82 and in good health except for a few minor issues. I try to take a positive approach and help, but anything I say upsets her. Sorry... Got off topic there - ha.

Hang in there, Pam!
