TGIF everyone!

kt_mom - I have to laugh. Every day you and I have the same thing!!! I had a little drop today too but, like you I was still hoping for more! One thing I do keep thinking though is that my body is having a tough enough time right now with me sticking to plan... I can't even imagine where my weight would be right now if I had been having cheats! Anyway, congrats on the loss... we'll take what we can get!

I do feel pretty good now that I've been on plan consistently. I "feel" slim, I just still hope that the scale starts reflecting my efforts better soon!

We live by a local airport and they are having an air show tomorrow, so we'll be able to see some of that from our house which will be fun. A friend of mine is coming for a visit in the afternoon too, but she is training for a marathon and plans to run 16 miles before she comes over, so I doubt either of us will be tempted to snack or consume anything off plan!

Sunday is of course football. We are Bears fans. The team isn't very good, but we're not fair weather fans! We're having some friends over and DH is smoking a beef brisket so it should be another event that's easy to stick to plan!

Sep 1 - 136.4
Sep 2 - 136.4
Sep 3 - 137.2
Sep 4 - 138.8
Sep 5 - 138.5
Sep 6 - 139.9
Sep 7 - 139.5
Sep 8 - 138.6

B - bacon and cheese omelette with salsa
L- Italian sausage with parmesan cream sauce
D - wings

Kelly- that sounds so fun for Sunday and the brisket sounds yummy! DH is a redskins fan and I'm a cowboys fan so we'll be watching football all day Sunday. Sometimes I wish we liked the same team so we could celebrate together, its very hard to celebrate each other's wins since the teams are such big rivals, lol But its fun to be rivals too unless one team is having a really crappy year or something.

I asked DH if he wanted to invite our friends over but they end up talking and go outside to smoke a million times and it kind of ends up being a distraction if you have a game you really want to watch. Plus if they bring their son then it just gets crazy in here. So I think he's just going to pick up some wings from a place up the street for lunch and then we'll munch on leftovers the rest of the day.

Good afternoon beauties

Halldot Keeping you, your family and everyone in the path of this hurricane in prayer. I have been a nervous wreck worrying about family members who are in Florida. I have family in Ft Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville. Thankfully my mother received a call from a family member in Puerto Rico and everyone is safe. They are without electricity and water but at least everyone is ok for now. Be safe and keep us posted when you can.

Aug 31 161.6

Sept Goal 158

Sept 5 165
Sept 6 164
Sept 7 163.2
Sept 8 162.8

Losses are slowing down but I am pleased with my progress. I haven't had much of an appetite today so that's a good thing. Need to drink more water as I have only had a few sips so far today. I did good yesterday with my water and had over 10,000 steps. Fingers and toes crossed that I can avoid any temptation this weekend so that I do not derail my progress.

I woke up feeling a little bit better. I ended up taking a muscle relaxer and a naproxen and was able to get some good sleep. I have an appointment this coming Wednesday with my neurologist and hoping to get some relief.

Have a great day and enjoy your weekend.

kt_mom and kelli - enjoy the games! I used to be a huge Broncos fan, we'd never miss a game, but since I moved back to California I haven't really gotten into any of the local teams. I miss it! And I know what you mean, when you really want to watch the game friends can be a distraction.

halldot- prayers for you, and for everyone with family/friends dealing with these storms. I'm glad people are listening and preparing well, and just hope the storms die down quickly.

Ameenah - glad you're feeling better, and I hope the neurologist gives you some good news. Nice steady losses on the scale!!

Like Kelli and kt_mom, I'm glad the scale's down but hoped for more. I completed my three-day cream cheese fast, and yes I just ate cream cheese sweetened with Splenda. Man did my eggs taste good this morning!! I'm happy with how it went, and if I get desperate I'd do it again, but for now I'm on eggs and meat. I have a girls night out this weekend and I'm struggling with what I want to do. If I drink I know it will set me back at least 5 days if not more, and I'm really enjoying my momentum. I do NOT want to be back in the 160's. So I'm thinking of just drinking water, and enjoying the company of my friends. I may try one glass of wine and just nurse it, but once I have one I know another seems like a really good idea, and so it goes ...

Good luck to everyone, stay strong this weekend and let's keep the momentum going!!

Susan

Well, I totally went off the rails today. I made the mistake of weighing myself this morning. I know better! This is why I only weigh once a week. I've been pretty bummed with my progress lately given I haven't had an off plan cheat since my son's birthday on 3 July. I've also been exercising a lot, almost daily. Well, this morning I was 0.8 lbs higher than I was last Sunday and I have done well with food choices and exercised every night, both cardio and weight lifting. Ugh! Despite the strength I've felt in terms of cravings for bad foods, I caved this morning at breakfast and continued to make bad choices all day long! Once my belly settles I will get on the treadmill and work off some of it tonight, but I know the scale will not be good on Sunday. Maybe a miracle will happen and my system will reset somehow and I will start losing weight again. I had Hawaiian rolls with honey for breakfast, a Reuben with chips for lunch, cheese and crackers for a snack and after I decided to skip dinner I made a bowl of fruity pebbles. Holy cow! That's more carbs than I normally eat in a week!! I haven't had a cheat day since I started on 30 Jan with the exception of my planned off-plan meal for my son's 18th birthday when we went to a Japanese hibachi place. I feel terrible, bloated and my stomach hurts. I WILL NOT EAT ANOTHER BITE TODAY!

Ok, done with my confession. I'm glad to see that many of you are having a much better day than me and losing some weight! Congrats!! KUTGW! I will be back on track tomorrow. Thanks for listening.

HappyMom Nice losses. I love cream cheese but not sure I could eat it all day. Great job and stay strong throughout the weekend so you don't gain any weight back. I don't understand why weekends are so difficult. I need to really try hard this weekend so that I can soon be in the 150s again. My birthday is the 27th so I would love to be at goal by then.

Julie Isn't it awesome to be able to come on here and confess your cheats knowing that no one will judge you? Hopefully, your cheat day will result in a reset and you will see some losses when you weigh in on Sunday. Just remember how far you have come and don't be too hard on yourself. You have been doing awesome and the fact that you caved and had a cheat day only goes to show that you are human and not meant to be perfect all the time. Hang in there, tomorrow is a new day.

I have been doing better today and definitely did good with my eating but my stomach is super bloated. I decided to drink a glass of water with apple cider vinegar and lemon which is supposed to help with the bloat. Hopefully this will help.

Have a great night and I am praying hard for all that are in the path of Hurricane Irma.

I feel a little better now. I did 4 miles at 8% incline and burned 798 calories. That likely doesn't even cover my lunch, but I feel better than I did a few hours ago! Tomorrow is another day!

Thanks Ameenah!

hi, Julie - in addition to the damage on the scale, it's good to keep in mind how hard it is on your body when you have a day like that - you've been eating well and insulin levels stable, then in one day your sugar skyrockets and your body is trying to pump insulin into your system to equalize it. It's very hard on your system.

Good morning ladies! Just time for a quick check in, DS and I just got home from soccer and we have to run back out to a birthday party. But I wanted to come home and eat before we go so I'm not tempted with anything at the party.

The scale was down again today which makes me very happy. It was 156.2 at first then 158.8 then after my shower I weighed again and it was 158.8 again so I'm going to go with that. I was on plan yesterday and got in lots of water. DD and I went to get our nails done and then she was going to a friends house but we had some time to spare so we had dinner at Cracker Barrell. It was tough to watch her eat her pancakes but I stuck to my eggs and bacon. When I got home I was only 157.6 so I expected a loss today. I was actually hoping for a little more then I got but I'll take it. I just hope it keeps going. I really want to see the 140's again. I'm kind of hoping that if I can make it through next weekend with no drinks then I can make some good progress. We are going to my sister in law's house for the weekend in two weeks to see their new house and we always end up having drinks while we are hanging out. I'm determined though not to give in to the other crap while we are there. I have to fit back into my jeans and soon.

On another note our pastor and his wife finally got to leave St. Martin. They coordinated with Samaritan's Purse to get a plane in with supplies and food and water and then they were able to take some of the elderly and others off the island. I don't know many details but I guess there were real issues with food and water on the Island. And now there is another storm right behind it. He said the Island is devastated already. Prayers for all those still in the path of Irma, stay safe! I'm so worried about our friends and family in Florida. I think they decided to all stay.

Well we have to run out to the party, I'll try to check back in and read everybody's posts later! Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

1-Sep 158
2-Sep 158
3-Sep 157.4

Good afternoon beauties

So irked... I just lost my entire post. Let's try this again.

Julie Glad you are feeling better. Great job on the exercise.

Cstyles Great job eating on plan

Pam Glad to hear that you are feeling better. I bet you are feeling well rested after last night. You deserved the rest.

Casey thanks for sharing the info. I never thought of it that way. It definitely makes sense.

Kelly I feel the same way. I lose for a few days and then gain or stall. It is frustrating but quitting is not an option. At least we know that the scale will eventually move if we stick to plan. Have you taken measurements?

kt_mom Congrats on the losses. You are doing great this month

nihold Yummy I love caramel apple popcorn. I love popcorn period. I know our hubby's mean well but they really have no idea how hard it is to resist temptation and then how hard we have to work to undo the damage.

Aug 31 161.6

Sept Goal 158

Sept 5 165
Sept 6 164
Sept 7 163.2
Sept 8 162.8
Sept 9 163.4

Menu

B- coffee
L- chicken ceaser salad
S- fat bombs, almonds
D- salad with chicken and blue cheese dressing
S- coffee

Ugggghhhh, not sure what happened but the scale is definitely up this morning. I'm not sure if the almonds and fat bombs are the cause so I may steer clear of them for a few days. I finally had some eggs today and I actually enjoyed them so I may try an egg and meat fast for a couple days. I really need to start losing some of this weight. I did wake up less bloated so I was pleased with that. My sister in law invited us over for dinner tomorrow and asked me for ideas on what she should make so I suggested salmon or chicken and she decided to make baked chicken with veggies. I will be taking a pasta salad and a fruit salad. I should be able to do good by just eating the chicken and veggies. We will see how that goes.

Have a great day everyone and again sending prayers for anyone in the path of Hurricane Irma

Good morning,

Woke up very swollen this am. Shows on the scale I had some peanut yesterday again at around 3pm because I was starving and had no meat cooked up. After I ate them I got bloated and my belly puffed out. I was bloated the whole night. So I guess i can't eat peanuts anymore they dont agree with me. My problem is hubby loves them and always buys them. I told him to please stop and get almonds or walnuts instead. We will see. Nuts are so "eat one, eat them all" sort of snack.

Goal - 167

Menu:
B - coffee, hwc, stevia, leftover meat sauce w/zoodles
L - chicken salad
D - 4 drum sticks, 1 cup salad
S - peanuts, decaf, hwc,stevia

hi, Pam - an ex boyfriend was a snack fiend - especially sugar treats (little Debbie's) and he'd buy huge bags of pistachios from Sam's Club... Which are an "eat till they're gone" food for me. I asked him not to buy the 5 lb bags of pistachios and he said "don't blame me for what you out in your mouth." Wow.... Harsh but true. I'd have a really hard time having peanuts around all the time. Peanuts and peanut butter are the biggest challenges for me when I dogsit. Can't stay out of them because I don't have them at my house! I wonder if that's why you are so swollen today - definitely sounds like a food allergy. Good to identify those. I tried talking to my mom about the anti-inflammatory diet that you are doing and she just gets angry at me. I have to stop trying to "fix" or help there.

hi, Kelly!. You're so close to your maintenance range - to get there quicker, you could tweak your diet just a bit... Things that would stall me are salami, cheese, and beer. I'll bet if you ate clean for just 3 or 4 days you'd be back in your maintenance range.

Good morning ladies! Just a quick check in today. I've got to go pick DD up and then get ready for football! So excited!

I was happy to see the scale down again today. When I weighed last night it was a little high and I was worried I would be up this morning. But I was on plan all day yesterday.

I got some jicama at the store the other day and I'm going to try to make a mock cinnamon apples and put it over some lc ice cream for a treat tonight during the Dallas game. We're getting wings for lunch. I looked it up and mild wings should be ok for me, I think it was like 1g for 2tbsp of sauce or something like that. DH will also get some lemon pepper and those should be ok too. I'm going to skip the beer today even though I really really want to have a couple during the game. They just stall me too bad and I don't want to stop my downward motion.

Well have a great day everyone! Today is the last day of my coffee fast and I am so excited to have a cup tomorrow morning!

Hello all! I just got back from a 5 day trip to the Olympic Peninsula. It was so beautiful at the Hoh Rainforest. We also went to Sol Duc Hot Springs. It was so nice to go soak in the water and then hop in the regular pool to cool off and swim a little! Eating was pretty good overall. We definitely had some splurges for dinner, and one pastry yesterday, but otherwise pretty clean. I will get on the scale tomorrow and see where I am. I have no idea what my body has been up to!

Have a great evening all.

Hi Casey - good advice. Chicken and steak are on the menu for most of the week. I have a work dinner at a Mexican restaurant on Wednesday. Reservation for 12, so not an option to go somewhere else. That will be a challenge but I am going to try my best to make good choices. I will likely eat a snack right before we go to the restaurant so I am not tempted to touch the chips and salsa.

Tonight I had a snack attack probably due to PMS, but for the first time, everything I "binged" on was low carb. I had a little dish of whipped cream with sugar free chocolate syrup, and some stevia-sweetened chocolate chips, two sugar free Reese's mini peanut butter cups, a handful of almonds and one serving of baked cheese crisps. I think I'm satisfied now! Altogether it amounted to about 300 extra calories and I ended up with 37 net carbs for the day. It will be interesting to see what effect this will have on the scale tomorrow. But I guess at least I don't feel as guilty as if I had binged on off-plan stuff!! And it is definitely far less calories and carbs than one of my usual binges. DH has a package of M&M cookies in the house and I could have easily eaten it but chose not to! It's progress!

Good morning,

Kelly - I laughed as I read what you ate. Oh the pms....The cravings drive me nuts. Good for you for not going totally off. It's so hard.

Alene - Sounds like you had a great trip

Ktmom and Ameenah- You are doing great!

Casey - how tall are you? I see a lot of us are 5'7"

Of course because it football season hubby wanted chili. I like chili and all but he would have it every Sunday if I let him. Wasn't in the mood for it and it didn't fill me up which was weird so made some chocolate bark and snacked on that with decaf. Hubby will be on travel this week and I have pork chops, chicken and steaks plan. Very excited about my steaks and asparagus. I have been craving that for a few weeks now. I also got on the computer yesterday to read more about the effects of curtain foods on the body. Like the peanuts and night shades and dairy. Interesting reading. I can experiment this week because all my foods are clean dinner, basically meat and a side. After I realized I have a great plan this week, I got excited thinking I might actually be able to move the scale down to maybe 174 by Friday. We will see.

Goal - 167

Menu:
B - coffee, hwc, stevia, 2 chicken drumsticks
L - chicken salad
D - Chili, sour cream, cheese
S - chocolate bark, decaf, hwc,stevia

Good morning ladies! No movement on the scale today but I wasn't surprised. I ended up getting a pack of Miller 64 at the grocery store. I wanted to have it on hand because I knew I would end up tempted and want to drink beer on the first Sunday of football. And I did and I'm glad I had the Miller 64 here since its so low carb. My food was really low carb, I had wings for lunch and leftover wings for dinner and then some cheese sticks for a snack and spoonful of peanut butter. I was up a little later than I usually am watching the end of the game so I'm feeling really tired this morning. I hope today if I eat really clean and drink lots of water I won't get that second day bump on the scale from the beer.

Pam- a week of just fixing for you and being able to eat clean will be great. And you can experiment with the foods that you think are bothering you.

Kelly- Good job keeping your snacks on plan! That can be so hard. You are due for a nice drop soon!

Alene - your trip sounds really nice, welcome back!

Ameenah - Nice drop!

hi, Pam - I am 5'9" - it's funny that you mentioned it, because I've thought about how there are several 5'7" here. I used to drive my mom crazy by wearing high heels - said I'd never get a guy if I was taller than them. Lol. I always wanted to be taller - ha.

The other night I was wanting something so I made up a fat bomb with coconut oil and cocoa powder and I was awake and jittery/anxious most of the night. I haven't been buying cocoa powder and that is the only thing I can pinpoint that was different that day. Over my low carb years, I'm finding that my body changes how it reacts to some things - caffeine, alcohol, sugar, meds. Has anyone else noticed that?

Good morning. I was happy to see I didn't gain on my trip. We did quite a bit of hiking, so I was hoping that would offset the splurges. I'm back on track and had a great day of eating yesterday. I took a 45 minute brisk walk last night.

I am back to work today. I have 3 sub jobs lined up for the week. I'm actually excited! Last night I made up salads for the week. Greens, jack cheese, bacon, red onion, chicken, Italian dressing. I love a big, hearty salad for lunch. It fills me up till dinner usually. Since I'll be out of the house pretty early every morning I'm going to shift my workout to the afternoon. Total change of routine, so I will have to really be determined to just do it and not slack off because I might be tired or not in the mood to get sweaty that time of day.

Hi Casey! Ha ha, good for you on wearing what you love!

Kt_mom, glad the beer didn't give you a bump. Crossing my fingers that tomorrow is a new low for you!

Pam, chili sounds yum! I need to make some soon. It sounds like you have a great week planned. It's often easier to do simple dinners when you're on your own. I hope you get a nice drop this week! Great one today.

Kelly, I remember those PMS days! Good job keeping it reined in to low carb choices. So much better than what it could have been!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good Morning!

It is hard for me to post today because I was off program all day yesterday and I'm embarrassed.. ...I didn't think and just picked up some donuts and commenced eating.....

Today is a NEW START I still have plenty of time to have a loss for the Month of September. SIGH.....

I didn't even weigh in this morning....I did not want to see the numbers on the scale.

Meals for the DAY:
2 Egg/bacon/sausage Muffins (I made 12 of these yesterday with a dozen eggs)
Chicken with Salad
?????---I'm not sure.

Check in later~~~I'm on my way to read everyone's posts.

hi, kimmiejean! I did something similar a couple of months ago - I don't know how it happens - there were Krispy Kreme donuts at work, I managed to avoid them, then one time I walked by, and no one was around... I ate FOUR!!! It was like I was possessed! But I caught myself and it was all meat (totally zero carb) for the rest of the day and induction level for three days (penance - ha). It happens when I'm too hungry, and food is left unattended. That's my danger zone.

Hi Everyone,

Well my snack attack last night so far hasn't caused a gain, and I'm pleased it did not knock me out of ketosis! I purposely have those LC snack options on hand now for emergencies, and I guess for that reason I'm glad I did, otherwise I would have for sure gone off plan. I am not good at controlling myself when a strong craving hits!

Casey - I chuckled at your admission of eating the 4 krispy kreme donuts. Yep, that's exactly how it goes for me too! I definitely wouldn't have been able to stop at just one. There was cake in the office on Friday, and it looked so good.... I thought it was vanilla cake with vanilla frosting and was seconds away from giving in and having some until I realized it had a layer of "fresh banana filling" and I hate bananas! So I think it was fate that helped me avoid it!
