Thanks Casey!!

Sizesixchick, good job getting back in track!

Kelly, I hope your family gathering was fun!

Pam, hang in there! I'm just the opposite of you when it comes to wine, I much prefer a nice dry red (Cabernet is always my first choice)!

KT-mom, congrats on those tickets! That is always the biggest game of the year around here. It always amazes me how many Cowboys fans there are here! I'm sure it will be a blast!

We had a nice visit with our older son who came home from college to visit. He is having a great time. I then went shopping and bought way too many clothes and shoes today. I hadn't been in a Burlington Clothes Factory in many years and I was so impressed with the prices I just kept throwing clothes in my cart. It was almost full when I finished. I did need some new work clothes and I found some beautiful suits, skirts, blouses and boots. I have been hesitant to buy too much clothing until I hit my goal weight but at the rate I'm going these clothes will last a while. I bought more blouses than anything and they are very forgiving size wise. I also found some great deals on hoodies for my younger son. It's already cooling off here so it's time to transition to warmer clothes for us.

I hope everyone has a great night!!

It is a good thing that tomorrow is a new day. I was a "heathen" today, as my grandmother used to say, and stayed home and worked the house all day. I made good progress, and plan to repeat the cleaning on the remainder tomorrow. I never seem to catch up and it is depressing!! However, I found myself postponing lunch and supper, and snacking on things I did not really want or need. I will do better tomorrow...

Happy Labor Day, everyone!

hi, Pam! here's another perspective... If you aim for 150 as a goal, you're less than 30 pounds from that! And you know that it's more difficult (a) as you get close to your goal; (b) as you get older; (c) the more times you've lost and gained; and (d) ... and this is a biggie - when you are on meds. Your focus on the anti-inflammatory diet is a good approach - especially because it aligns with low carb/keto. And you KNOW that you'd feel a lot worse if you were eating more carbs - weight would be higher AND you'd be in more pain! Stay strong - you're in this for the long haul! I admire your strength and tenacity. You and fembomb are prime examples of being able to eat well and get healthy in the face of adversity that you have no control over.

Thanks Casey,

I am really taking one day at a time. I will keep fighting. I ended up taking pain killers this am so waiting for them to kick in. I am hoping with movement and stretching that I also will loosen up a bit. Either way I am a fighter! But on a good note I just put the ribs in the crock pot. I don't know why I am so excited about them for dinner I just am

Hi everyone,

Well I'm frustrated and discouraged and don't understand why my weight is up. I had less than 30 total carbs for the day yesterday and know that carb count isn't enough to make me gain water weight. I find it hard to believe that the three craft beers I had on Friday have had this big of an effect on my weight, but maybe my body's tolerances are changing. Yesterday at the picnic my mom ended up deciding to make beef kebabs instead of ordering the broasted chicken so I thought that was awesome. I had one kebab which had ribeye steak, bacon, peppers and onions on it. For a snack I had cheese, one glass of champagne, and one miller 64. There was also a salad with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, oil and vinegar. I had two servings of the salad. When I got home, all I had was water and some almond butter and then later in the evening I was craving something sweet so I opted for a protein bar that is only 8 total carbs. It's frustrating to see the scale up so much knowing I am in ketosis and have been sticking to plan diligently. This is much more reminiscent of when I was having regular cheats except this weekend I I haven't at all! These are the times when it's easy to say "screw it" and eat a donut and throw in the towel!

Casey - I'm definitely glad I stuck to plan - I'm sure it would be much worse if I'd actually had a cheat.

Julie - thank you, the time with family was really nice!

Sep 1 - 136.4
Sep 2 - 136.4
Sep 3 - 137.2
Sep 4 - 138.8

B - bacon and cream cheese pancake or egg and chorizo breakfast burrito
L - skip (late breakfast)
D - pork chops

Good morning ladies! I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday. We went to church and then to lunch and then I was doing some reading for school and then DD had a party to go to last night and DS went to my sisters and DH and I went to a movie. Even eating lunch out yesterday I stayed on plan. I had a salad and a steak and avoided the bread. No popcorn at the movies either. I was surprised to see the scale up a little. But I did have some pepperoni and cheese for a snack at my sisters while we waited for time to pick DD up. So that may be it. I know I was in range for carbs yesterday. Really hoping for a nice drop tomorrow. It's time.

I made it through the weekend with no drinks! Yay! I was hoping to be rewarded on the scale but hopefully I'll see it soon. I'm really hoping its the whole fat cells fill with water thing..... we'll see.

Well I have another busy day today running the kids around. We have go carts and a movie in our plans since I don't have the baby today. But I'll try to check back in and read everything tonight! Hope everyone has a wonderful labor day!

Happy Labor Day everyone! Just skimmed thru all the weekend posts - stay strong ladies! Still at the same weight, which surprises me since I was so good this weekend, with the exception of those nice big dill pickles they sell at the ball field, but they were only 4 carbs each and I stayed under 20. I think the sodium did me in though. Usually it's so hot I get to sweat the extra water weight off, but it was overcast both days so it wasn't too bad. Guess I'm the run on sentence queen today, lol.
BBQ at my house today, just the usual hot dogs, hamburgers, etc... The others will have potato salad and stuff, I'll have some bacon wrapped poppers and maybe deviled eggs to go with it. Gonna stay strong and really tough it out this next week to get that scale going.

Have eggs boiled for deviled eggs, goat cheese and onion/garlic ready to mix into hamburgers, steak to grill also, green beans in crockpot, cabbage ready to be made into coleslaw, and sf lemonade. Yes, we are celebrating Labor Day tomorrow!
Pam, I hope you have a better day tomorrow and that it gets better every day. When I had constant pain, I tried so hard to carry on with life, but it just drained my energy.

Good morning ladies! I was really bummed to see the scale still on the same number. Especially after being so good all weekend. I was hoping for a nice drop. I was on plan all day yesterday and all weekend and no real movement. All I can do is keep on but it sure would be nice to see some loss.

Pam - I'm so glad to hear you are feeling good today!

Cathy - sounds like you are all ready for your cookout!

fem- Its great that you can eat according to your hunger, that would be really hard for me!

halldot - Probably the sodium, I'm sensitive to it too. Hope you guys had a great cookout!

SizeSix- glad the scale was down for you! Its always motivation for me to keep going!

Keli - I feel your frustration, the scale has been haunting me all week. I was so proud of myself for staying on plan all weekend and having no drinks and although I wasn't up I'm not really down either. You didn't have much beer but maybe the combination of having beer two time so close together is making you retain water. I'm really sensitive to beer and water weight.

Well, I didn't get much schoolwork done yesterday so I better get going on that. I have to get my research proposal in this week.

Hi Everyone,

Boy the long weekend went by too fast!

Even though the scale doesn't show it, I was actually on plan all weekend. DH made an awesome dinner last night, Creamy Cajun Pork Chops. Totally LC, the sauce was made with cream cheese, butter, chicken bone broth, and seasonings. The only thing was that the Cajun seasoning we used had a TON of sodium in it, so that's not helping with my water retention. But it was delicious. Having the leftovers for lunch today.

I'm still not sure why I'm stalled but I've been on plan, my ketostix are dark purple, and I feel thinner than the scale says I am. One day at a time!

kt_mom - It's so strange, isn't it? We are both due a visit from the whoosh fairy soon!!

Pam - so glad to hear you're feeling good today!!!

Sep 1 - 136.4
Sep 2 - 136.4
Sep 3 - 137.2
Sep 4 - 138.8
Sep 5 - 138.5

B - bacon and cheese omelette with salsa
L - Creamy Cajun pork chop
D - taco meat

Hello again, everyone! I'm back after a bit, had to take a break because my sister was reading my posts and it was a bit weird. I'm hoping she stopped, but either way I need to be here so here I am!!

Very annoyed with myself, the scale is up and it's all my fault. I had a three-event weekend, and was very good at two of them and then decided to bring a giant bag of smoked almonds to the beach with me. Well I sat there and ate the whole thing, had to be 70 carbs and 3000 calories. Yikes!! So no surprise the scale is up today. I'm going back to total induction, I may even try a fat fast for a few days because I really need to get out of the 160's for good!

It's finally cooled down here, we were around 112-115 all weekend here. Crazy! So now I feel a bit more like cooking and food prep, maybe even getting some steps in. Despite great advice from all of you, my weekends are still a mess. It's the only time I really get to spend any time with my teenage kids any more, so when they are available I drop everything to be with them. Of course they're quite unpredictable, so my schedule goes out the window frequently. Oh well, DD will be off to college in a year and I'll have a schedule then LOL.

Congrats to all our losers!!

Susan

Good morning beauties

I can't believe that today is Sept 5th and I am now just posting for the month. Needless to say I went off plan over the weekend and the scale shows it. I was super busy Friday and Saturday prepping for the family cookout so I never got a chance to come on here. My stepdaughter came back home Saturday so we spent Sunday and Monday getting her situated and ready for her first day of school. I did pretty good with my eating on Saturday but ate way too much and had a finger full of icing from my grandson's birthday cake. I also had a fibromyalgia flare up Sunday morning and woke up swollen and achy all over. I feel much better today but boy oh boy did my body ache. I need to start chugging down some water as I barely had 32ozs each day and that is a no no for me. If I want to lose I am one of those folks that need to drink water all day. Back at it today, no need to continue to dwell on the last few days. Happy to see so many of you this month. Have a great day and keep at it

Aug 31 161.6

Sept Goal 158

Sept 5 165

My goal seems a little far fetched but I know that if I stick to plan that I will make goal or at least come close to it. I know what I need to do I just have to get my mind right and do it

Good morning,

Fall came in pretty hard here with the storms. It's nice and cool outside, though. I have girls night out tonight. My friend told us it was going to be Italian so I better eat before I go, these ladies like there pasta. I am making chicken enchilada soup for the family. It's a new recipe, but seems just right with the weather. I will take out two chicken thighs for me to eat before I go. A bounce up on the scale, but I woke up not in pain again so I don't care. It's amazing how much better life is if you don't hurt.

Goal - 167

Menu:
B - coffee, hwc, stevia, ribs
L - cheeseburger, onion, pickle
D - tacos salad, sour cream, cheese
S - decaf, hwc, stevia

Weight:
Sept 1 - 176.6
Sept 2 - 177.2
Sept 3 - 176.2
Sept 4 - 178
Sept 5 - 177.2
Sept 6 - 178.2

Good morning beauties

Belinda Welcome back. I too joined late this month and paid the price with a jump on the scale. Hope you haven't bumped out of the 140s.

Pam I am loving this fall weather but the rain is causing me body aches and I woke up with a migraine. So happy to hear that you are feeling better. Enjoy your girls night out.

Good morning ladies! The scale was a tiny bit down today but I was really hoping for more. I've been totally on plan the last few days and I've been drinking plenty of water. It's like my body just isn't responding anymore. checked ketones yesterday and they were barely trace. I have no idea why. My legs are feeling achy again and I haven't been on the bike. I got some powerade zero at the store the other day but haven't had any yet. I guess I need to have a little and see if it helps maybe.

Pam - so glad you are feeling good! Hope you enjoy girls night out!

bella - I think I would have a hard time staying on plan camping too. You'll get back on track quickly!

Susan - nuts are hard for me too. I end up eating too many. I was trying to use them as a snack and portion them out but I was having a hard time staying out of them so I had stop buying them for now. Hopefully I can add them back in because I do like them for a snack sometimes.

Keli- we are due and I was really hoping it would be today for me. Hopefully tomorrow!

Prayers for anyone in the path of this next storm. Our pastor and his wife are stuck on St. Marteen, he took her on a surprise anniversary trip and they were supposed to come home yesterday but the airport closed. I don't remember seeing two huge storms like this back to back. So much damage. My cousin lives in Houston but I don't think where she is was too bad but I was really worried about her when the storm was coming in there. Prayers for everyone in Texas too, I can't imagine what they are going through but I'm so glad to see so much support everywhere. It makes you wish you could go and help.

Hi, Ameenah - this is off the low carb topic, but you mentioned that you have family in PR - I lived there for a few years when I was younger - I went to 4th and 5th grade there. It's such a beautiful place and send prayers for your family members who are there. So many poor places around the island that can't withstand a hurricane of that magnitude. We had a few close calls when I lived there. Earthquakes, too. Also, when I was in the Navy I was stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba when hurricane Allen went through there. I worked in the weather office, so it was a big deal.

Also, I notice that you're in Pennsylvania - I have a friend who lives in DC but his hometown is Lititz, PA and he invited me out for a craft beer festival later in September - Im not much of a traveler, but I accepted his offer. I've never been to PA and I'm looking forward to it - I checked the weather forecast for the month and it looks like it will be nice - in the 70s.

Hi everyone,

Well I'm unbelievably discouraged. I've really been diligent, and yet the scale looks reminiscent of those days when I was not quite on plan. Except this time I have been. Every day I'm between 20-30 carbs or less. The only thing I can think is that I'm eating slightly higher calories than I used to lately, but nothing crazy. I do know my diet has been very high in sodium the past couple of days, but I'm also trying to be efficient and make the most of the meals I cook, so I'm not really curbing that because I continue to eat leftovers. In my entire history on low carb though, I've never seen sodium have this horrible of an effect on my weight. This morning the scale was way up, but my body fat percentage was way down. And my ketostix continue to be dark purple... I certainly wouldn't be in ketosis if I were continuing to cheat. I'm at a loss so Im just going to keep on keepin' on and see if eventually things start moving again.

Sep 1 - 136.4
Sep 2 - 136.4
Sep 3 - 137.2
Sep 4 - 138.8
Sep 5 - 138.5
Sep 6 - 139.9

B - bacon and cheese omelette with salsa
L - taco meat
D - cream cheese pancake, bacon

Keli- you and me both. I wasn't up today but was really expecting to see a loss. I never had this much trouble last year. I look at my numbers from last summer and my big cheats with travel and how quickly I lost the weight and got back to regular losing. Its just not happening for me this summer. All I know to do is keep moving forward and eating on plan. I know the plan works.

Maybe I need more fat in my diet, I don't know. One thing I'm doing differently is cooking my eggs in butter instead of coconut oil. I don't know why I switched really, I just did. Maybe I'll try them in coconut oil tomorrow. Today I had leftover chicken with ham and cheese from dinner last night. Sometimes processed meat affects me but this was just two slices on the chicken breast and I cut the chicken in half last night and half for dinner and half for lunch today. I did have some green beans with my dinner last night but it was maybe 3/4 of a cup or less. And I did have some lc icecream in the afternoon with some pb but that's really the only carbs I had all day other than the eggs for breakfast.

Cheese has never been a problem for me in the past. I ate lots of cheese last year and I was losing great. I guess my body could have changed. I don't know how to cut that out because its one of the few snacks on lc that I enjoy. Since I haven't had coffee in 6 days I'm having less HWC. I put a tiny amount in my tea in the morning but I was drinking 4-5 cups of coffee a day with HWC in them. So theres less of that. I don't know how else to up my fat. I've never fat bombs but maybe I need to.

Kt_mom - yeah it's strange. I feel like maybe my body has changed too. I had one serving of LC ice cream last night and the night before, but was still at nearly induction level carbs each day. And that was the only snack I had for the entire day. I do know I'm eating more calories per day than I was in the past, but we're talking maybe a couple hundred more (all LC!), not thousands. I have consumed a ton of sodium recently which I am sure is part of my problem, but I've never seen a stall like this, even when I consumed too much salt in the past. What's especially unusual is that in the last two weeks I really had basically a "restart" and usually when I restart, I lose several pounds of initial water weight, and it's like this time around I pretty much stalled right away.

Like you said, I know if I stick with it things will start moving again eventually but it sure is frustrating to keep waking up expecting a loss and seeing nothing good!

Kelly and kt_mom I feel exactly the same way! I keep doing what used to work really well, and the scale stays flat or goes up. Very discouraging! This week I'm trying a super-strict fat/egg fast to see if I can restart things, because nothing else seems to work. I do know I've had some carb creep in there, just little bits here and there, special treats, nuts, etc. So I'm trying to eliminate almost everything. I saw a great drop today, although it's just the water weight from the weekend. Still, it's good to have that bloat gone!!

nihold I'm still recovering from the weekend too. My kids started school about 3 weeks ago, and I agree, it definitely makes it easier to get some exercise in. Having a bit of a routine back is very nice!!

Casey You've lived and traveled to some interesting places! That's one of my dreams once the kids are gone, to travel and live around the world. It must have been a great adventure!

kimmiejean Stay strong!! I also gained three pounds from the weekend, it was really heart-breaking but this morning it's all gone. This WOE will work if we stick with it. I'm sending the whoosh fairy your way right now!!

Ameenah Sorry to hear about your migraine, I hope you feel better soon. I hope the eggs help. I'm doing a fat fast for 3-4 days, and then I'm going to add eggs back in. Let's get this scale moving!!

Pam So glad you're not in pain today! Enjoy that ladies night out, you've got a great plan to resist the pasta so you can have fun AND see results on the scale. Good job!!

Belinda Good to see you again! Camping is hard for me too; we have a group of friends who have camped together for years, and food is always the biggest part of it. But you always do so well and have great losses, I know you'll be back where you want to be in no time.

I'm feeling much more motivated, I completed a really clean day of fat fast and it felt good. I was finally able to resist late-night snacking, and it made me feel so powerful!! I'm hoping I can keep it up, I am very tired of the 160's and ready to move on. Fall is always a good time for weight loss, and I would really love to get to the 140's by Thanksgiving. It's a mighty ambitious goal, since I have basically not lost any weight in the past 6 months, but I'm ready for a restart. Let's do this!!

Susan

Sept. goal: 156

9/1 - 161.7
9/2 - 162.6
9/3 - 162.9
9/4 - 164.7
9/5 - 164.5
9/6 - 161.6
