What's the Gallbladders Favorite Band?

The Rolling Stones of Course

Good Morning Every One!!! You guys are the Best!!! I have missed you all!!!
Thank You all for the Well Wishes and the much needed and appreciated Prayers. I am up and around, feeling like I may actually live The Doc said I had several hundred of those nasty gallstones and 4 that were over 5 cm in size, those were the ones blocking the bile ducts. The Docs all want to blame it on The rapid weight loss and the fatty foods so I finally told them to shut their collective Pie Holes!!! All they were doing was winding up my family with out any reason. Well the Silver Lining to all this is that somewhere around the 376th Gallstone Removal, I blew past my goal I stepped on the scale this morning and the most beautiful numbers in the world came up 154 Pounds Now if I can get My hovering husband to go back to work...life may actually be worth living He is driving me Nuts!!! He's running the house like a cross between General Patton and Judge Judy!!! I think the whole Gallbladder Blow out in the hospital hallway scared the old boy a bit...I told him after surgery he's not getting rid of me that easy!!! Thank You all so much and I'll see you on the Message Boards!!!!

BACK!! So sorry that you had to go through that. Must have been very very painful. Onward and upwards ~ as they say!

And good for you for not allowing the conventional wisdom create doubts. They are wrong about the fat. Gall stones form over a long time (years) and did not suddenly appear because you changed to a high fat diet in the past several months. There is good evidence that they actually form in response to low fat diets. Chris Kresser wrote some blogs about it.

AND congrats on your weight loss! I think we all would do pretty much anything to lose weight but a ruptured gall bladder is taking things to the extreme!!! LOL!

After I started lowcarbing, I had to have my gallbladder removed, very uneventfully. Did they do the big incision?

Take care of yourself. Don't overdo...hugs.

I'm glad you're doing okay! I had been doing a low fat diet for several months when my gallbladder started acting up. My doctor said it could be brought on by ANY big change in diet. I've never missed my gallbladder. Having it removed never affected me in any way. My mother still tells people about how I stopped at Whataburger on the way home to get a hamburger, lol.

Yes Mam, because of the rupture I got the Big Incision. I found it rather a shame that they couldn't just go ahead and snip away some of that loose skin that weight loss has blessed me with... but alas....it was not to be...they did not see it as a fair trade for getting stuck with a big ole scar.

Hello! I am glad you made it through. I had my gallbladder out when I was barely 20 years old, and I was a full vegetarian at the time, skinny, very skinny, barely 100 lbs., and they still told me to "stop eating so much fat" and "stop trying to lose weight." I hadn't lost weight at all and had been the same weight for years.

Like you, I had several big cholesterol stones blocking the duct. My diet was at that time healthy, and I mainly ate unprocessed vegetables, fruit, tofu, and a bit of whole grain.

I have a bit of trouble eating keto now because I cannot eat a lot of fat at one sitting, more than 20-30 grams still gives me immediate cramping and running to the bathroom, which is more common than people sometimes realize. But digestive enzymes help if this happens! They are my best friend in the world. I am still losing weight consistently on a slightly more high-protein, low carb diet!

It's such a good feeling to have your gallstones out, especially if they block the duct and make you sick! All good healing vibes to you!

Coping Char....Coping....I'm thriving without that Old Fusbudget ordering everyone around and acting like I'm the Prize Calf at the State Fair. I don't mean to sound ungrateful but Cheese and Rice....If I could have did the happy dance I would have. I walked him to the door and told him I would miss him...a quick smooch and Happy Day's are Here Again!!!!I got to go to the toilet without him standing outside the door sayin....You alright hun...are holding on to the safety bar I put up...do ya need me...Yep you heard right...Safety Bar...I told him this morning I want all that Crap out of My Bathroom, it looks like a rehab facility in there I went to the doctor this morning, he said I'm doing good, he gave me another round of antibiotics and after I badgered him for 10 minutes he said I could start my walks again. I have to take it slow and build back up to my 10 Miles I was doing. So All in All it was a Good Day. Thanks for the support Char, It is much appreciated!!!

LOL, poor DH, he meant well, ya know! At least he cares enough to be worried about you. Bless his heart.

Glad you're doing better and glad to hear that you can resume your walking. TAKE IT EASY though, don't try to be SuperWoman and overdo things, ya hear me?
