Hi all! Great job everyone!!!

I’m not feeling well and life is being crazy right now so I’m going to make this a quickie. I wanted to report that I have continued trucking along with my 1000+ daily calorie deficits right on plan, but the scale hasn’t moved in 4 days. However, I did lose 2 pounds right off the bat for the week so I guess that was overdue losses from the previous days. Rinse, repeat. Hopefully.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!!

My car is finally ready at the auto body shop so I am thrilled to go pick it up today! Afterwards, I am getting food for Tony and I at our favorite Italian place. They make us a wonderful low carb, gluten free chicken marsala or chicken piccata which they served with roasted vegetables instead of pasta -- nice filling meal with no guilt.

Rainy and gloomy here today and it will be like that tomorrow. Oh well. Sometimes I really like the rain. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! xo

everyone!

Went for a mani/pedi his morning, and ended up seated directly opposite a portion of a mirrored wall that was in between shelving units of nail polish. Surprisingly, my refection was not too horrible. I think I even saw collar bones!

for FindingMe, rockinpeach & Nanabell! Ya big losers

Gail - I'm glad you have your car back, and hope it is all fixed up for you. It keeps thundering like crazy here, but I think it is just the heat & humidity since there is no rain in sight.

We leave for NOLA tomorrow. Not excited about 5-6 hours on the road, but it will be nice to get there & get my hands on Hazel!

yesterday:
B - coffee w/cream & DaVincis
D - pork chop sauteed in butter; salad w/lettuce, tomatoes, Olive Garden Italian dressing

Dimply, have a great time in NOLA! You will do just fine. We have 100% faith in you.
Hi FindingMe! So sorry that you are not feeling well. Sending good vibes your way.

I am very tired and run down today so I'm exercised, did a bunch of errands and made a low carb spinach lasagna. I'm going to settle in and watch a Mad Men marathon and just chill. Here is the recipe for low carb spinach lasagna below. It is good when you have that craving for comfort food.

1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons onion, chopped
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup spaghetti sauce
8 ounces cream cheese
1 egg
1/8 teaspoon pepper
10 ounces frozen chopped spinach, thawed & drained
4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese

Brown the hamburger with the onion; drain off the fat. Mix in the garlic powder and spaghetti sauce; season to taste and heat until bubbly. Meanwhile, soften the cream cheese in a medium-size microwaveable bowl for about 40-60 seconds. Stir until creamy; beat in the egg and pepper with a spoon until well mixed. Blend in the spinach. Spread half of the meat mixture evenly in the bottom of a greased, 8 x 8" glass baking pan. Spread the spinach mixture over the meat; top with the mozzarella, then the rest of the meat. It may not completely cover the top, but that's OK. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350บ about 30 minutes until hot and bubbly

I'm sorry for not really checking in, I've been having a lot of trouble with my anxiety this week. This may sound silly but even chatting with people online can make me feel nervous because I have been on message boards before where people have posted really negative things. Everyone here seems really friendly so I don't need to be worried.

Anyway, hi to the people who've posted since I was last here. And I see some great progress being made on the chart! Last weekend I went to visit my parents and my mom follows Weight Watchers. So while some meals I had were higher in carbs they weren't terribly unhealthy. And I had a beer at a restaurant/brewery while I was there. So I'm pretty happy with where the scale is at this week.

Dimply - hope your drive to NOLA went well. Enjoy yourself !

FindingMe - I hope you're feeling better soon, but good job staying on plan

Gail - the spinach lasagna sounds really good, I'm always looking for low carb versions of stuff like pasta and pizza. I'm going to try a spaghetti squash pizza bake later today.

Good night everyone, I am going to make an effort to post here more often!

Hi NightOwl! Congratulations on the weight loss! That is great!

The spinach lasagna is good. It really kills the cravings and it is low carb too.

I'm Back!

Had a great time in NOLA, and got some nice compliments especially from sister-in-law's family who hadn't seen me in over a year. I've lost almost 20 lbs since the last time we visited, which to me at my size doesn't seem like a lot, but when I look at pictures of me then & now I can see the difference.

Eating was good. My step-mother made a chicken & sausage gumbo for dinner Saturday, and used almond flour to make the roux. I passed on the rice and bread. Sunday after the baptism i had a few cherry tomatoes and cheese cubes, and then fajita meat, grilled onions & bell peppers, and pico de gallo at dinner. It was my sister's cheat day on her plan, and she wanted Mexican. DH & I split a single serving of fajitas, and still had a ton of leftovers that my older brother was happy to take home. I really feel like I deserve to lose 10 lbs as a reward for passing up jambalaya (my favorite meal) and cake after Hazel's baptism. Too bad it doesn't work that way

My older niece was sick with a stomach bug Wednesday-Thursday, and my sis-in-law woke up with it yesterday. DH started with it in the wee hours of the morning. I told him we should stay another day, but he insisted that he wanted to be home. Not a fun drive, and I had to stop 3 times to let him but he is happy being home, & sipping Sprite Zero and has both Pepto & Emetrol by his side. My sis-in-law texted me that my younger brother went home sick at lunchtime, and when I called my dad to tell him we were home, he told me he was sick too. Hoping I don't get it!

Can't believe I am doing this, but here are a couple of pics of me & the Hazelnut. I just love the expression on her face in the first one. For some reason, my brother & sister-in-law's house was dark so the quality isn't great.

Welcome back Mick and Dimply!

Gail - Thanks for the recipe!

Nightowl - You did so well and I like your attitude! Great job!

Mick - I know you must be exhausted! I hope you get some much needed rest.

Dimply - You are absolutely adorable!!! Love the pix. So glad you had a nice time, but sorry to hear everyone got sick. Hope you are still feeling good! Oh and way to go on visiting The Big Easy and doing so well on the food. Believe me, I know how tough that is with all that fine Cajun food!!! And with a daiquiri shop on every corner...OM Goodness, you are good!

I'm still chugging along. I just realized that I'm 40 days in with my strictness. Even though the scale has been a complete butt the last few days. I've actually stayed strong for once. It finally started behaving today, but I'm still due a major whoosh. I won't hold my breath. Lots of family drama going on, but I haven't headed to the liquor store yet. Go me!

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Dimply, you and Hazel are both so beautiful! And you look terrific by the way!
Mick, welcome back! We missed you. Hope you can get some rest.
Finding Me, hope the whoosh happens soon. Good for you for staying on plan!

I've been battling some major carb cravings these days but I am finally at a good point.

Hi all! Hope you are well. I'm still in, just staying busy.

I slipped up a tiny bit the past few days and could not understand why my cravings were so insane. Turns out, PMS. DUH, I should have known.

I've watched Fed Up and Sugar Coated on Netflix this weekend and am really trying to be more aware of hidden sugars in foods. When I'm on low carb, sugar is easier to avoid, but my (healthy weight) family eats normally so I'm going to make a better effort at reducing the sugar intake of the foods I buy and make for them. Once they finish the Snickers pie that I made this weekend. Oops.

I did make the dreaded mistake of weighing today. Definitely not a great thing to do during time of month as i'm sure so many can relate to. Oh well, next week's weigh-in should be better!

Have a lovely low-carb day, friends!

Hi everyone! I'm still here too! I tried to copy and paste the weights but my iPad is being a jerk and won't let me. I weighed in at 239.6 this morning! Can somebody change it for me, please?

Dimply, the "baby" is 14 months and should be eating more table foods but he's a stinker and won't eat most foods. There are days that he will only take a couple bites and spits out every single one of them! He does like meat though so that's a plus. I'd like to stop pumping during the day at work but he doesn't eat enough to support himself yet. I'm not sure what to do with him.

I'm still here, too. TOM has me up 3lb and has given me a wonderful Sjogren's flare and I'm in a bad mood and a busy Taxi-mom all week. So busy and cranky in 90-deg weather...=no bueno.

I'm all over the place...sigh.
Oh well.

Dimply- cute pics!!! Hazel is sooooooo adorable!

Dimply you and Hazel are so adorable!!! She looks so lovely in her gown. I'm glad you had a good trip! You really ate well!

Gail I hope the cravings totally go away and leave you alone! It sounds like you had a nice time I love your recipies!

Findingme Im sorry to hear about the family drama. Had a bit of that here today. Got to love family but ugh. YEAH on staying strong! Youve done so well!

Jess Im sorry to hear about the flare. I hope the week gets a little easier for you and you feel better.

Rockinpeach congrats on the two pounds!!

Planning I think weighing during TOM should be illegal. Ill have to look up those shows.

Michelle how is the house going? I hope your feeling better!

Nancy congrats on the loss!!!

Nightowl I get it about online causing stress or anxiety. We are all laid back and here for what your comfy with. No worries

Debbie glad you joined us. I guess when going through some rough stuff getting healthier will just make you stronger!

I sure hope I didnt forget anyone. I am still behind on sleep and kind of punchy.

Company before Fest was great. Company after was great. Fest camping with 23 of my fav people was fabulous! Im getting pretty old for 3 hours of sleep a night but it is only 4 days once a year!

I unlike Dimply didnt eat so well. I had gluten free buns, chips lots of fruit, wiskey spiked fudge and too much booze. On a good note is was tons of walking and I came home only 2 pounds heavier. Not bad with all the company and Fest. In all honest having a wheat allergy is a blessing on the diet front. I literally cant eat all the fair type foods and as much carbage. I drooled excessively over all the fried veggies my friends ate. I wont lie!

Today I am fighting cravings for cantalope of all things!

todays eats:

burger patty with mayo, raw veggies

cheese chunks, pickles, mayo, ham

eggs and cucumber

I did join a new diet wager group that started yesterday. It is the same as the last one. 10% in 6 months to get your investment back plus extra.

Glad y'all liked the pics! In the picture where I am feeding Hazel, my dad called out "Dimply", and I looked up and smiled at him, and he snapped the pic. I had to post it here since that is my user name, and that is what got me to look up. Usually I make myself scarce when pictures are being taken.

My sister & older brother got sick, too. So far only me, my stepmother, and 1 sis-in-law have not gotten sick. I think I dodged the bullet, but DH lost 10 lbs so maybe not so bad after all. Just kidding - he was miserable.

I ended up fasting Monday & yesterday. My dad was going to take us out to breakfast at one of John Besh's restaurants (foodies &/or "Top Chef" fans may know who he is) Monday, but we canceled due to DH being sick. When we got home I went to the store for soup, crackers, & Sprite for DH, but didn't feel like cooking for just myself, and same for yesterday. I lost 2 lbs, but honestly this was about convenience (& laziness ) not weight loss.

SIL #1 (not Hazel's mom) told me there is a fun run scheduled the next weekend we plan to visit, to kick off the Saints season, and she is thinking about doing it with some of her friends. I told her if she does it I will too. If nothing else, it will make me start walking/jogging again.

Mick - Welcome back! Glad the fest & the company were fun! Congrats on losing the 2 gained pounds so quickly! I would have gained at least 10 and taken until Sept to lose them

Gail - The spinach lasagne sounds good! I'm glad your cravings have passed.

FindingMe - for getting through 40 days - just like Jesus in the desert Funny that you mentioned daiquiri shops because the restaurant we went to Sunday night was catty corner from one, and that is how I knew where it was when my brother & sister were giving DH & me directions. They are everywhere - and drive-thru! Come to think of it, no one drank at dinner - a first for my family! There was alcohol at the after-Baptism lunch, so I guess everyone was good as far as booze was concerned. Hoping you get that well-deserved major whoosh, and that the family drama gets resolved.

PlanningVacay - Getting on the scale during TOM can be rough! But at least you have the post-TOM whoosh to look forward to! I haven't seen either movie, but I'm glad that lowering sugar is getting mainstream. I remember joining a Weight Watchers group at work about 15 years ago (I was doing low carb but wanted accountability), and the leader said that sugar doesn't make you fat, fat makes you fat
Snickers pie????

rockinpeach - I know that pumping at work is a pain in the butt. Hope your little guy starts eating better soon. Congrats on your loss!

jess - Hope you're feeling better!

Where's Michelle????

Mick6- Thanks!

Dimply-Thanks for the well wishes as well. I do hope you've dodged that mess. Stomach viruses are so miserable!

It will be another couple days until the hormones shift and it eases off again. Every month!!...at least I have a 2 day or so warning that it's coming. I'm so tired today, but I don't care. I will workout anyway. My eyes are being an extra pest at night so getting less sleep and some pain. Sinuses are burning dry. And the TOM hot flashes don't help either. Bah! It's ok. It shall pass until next time.

Dimply you should look up and get in those pics more often pretty lady! I'm glad you haven't gotten sick but your poor she and family. The run sounds like fun!!!

Jess sorry you are struggling with the dreaded pms mess. It's great it leaves but ugh.

Howdy to the rest of you that haven't popped in yet! Hope all is well!!

I mowed for a good part of the day. I think the heat got me. I felt a little yucky. Showered and tried to watch a show and never made it through the introduction. Snooze time!!!

I think the only reason the 2 pound gain was less was it was tons of water and 8 to 10 miles on the legs each day. Not really the garbage diet of the past even though there were chips and bites of fudge. Really you just can't eat much being out in the heat for 4 days.

Today's eats

Sausage and 2 eggs

Raw veggies, salad, crab, dip, chicken

Morning! Hope everyone is well!!!

Gail – Way to go on battling those cravings!

Planning – I’ll have to look for that show on the ‘flix. My “list” stays so full. Best $10 ever. Oy on the Snickers pie. Love the Snickers! I’m sure your post-PMS weigh in will be great!

Rockin – Yay on the new numbers!

Jess – I hope you are feeling better and the scale is behaving again!

Mick – You go girl on only gaining 2 and then losing it so fast! Sounds like you got lots of exercise. Glad you had fun throughout! The “wiskey spiked fudge” has me drooling. Two of my favorite things together! Kind of like the bacon covered doughnuts. I thought gross until I tried it and then I started dreaming about it. Now that I’ve replied, I will try to erase this from my thoughts Erase. Erase. Erase. UGH.

Dimply – Congrats on the 2 pounds! I hope all of your family is feeling better! It is hard to think of Saints and exercise together (after too many alcohol infused bus trips and hanging on Bourbon before and after LOL) but I say good for you! As far as the drive thru daiquiri shops, I never really understood how that worked with the driving laws, now that I’m older and (at least think that I am) smarter. I did enough stupid things in my youth with the non drive thrus.

I’m still staying strict. I think the 7 weeks of extreme daily calorie deficits are getting to me though. I think that is why I’m just not feeling up to par. Even though I have had some ground beef sporadically lately and not just chicken all the time. I really don’t want to break my 1000+ calorie deficit streak as I was shooting for 118 days up to my trip, but I have accumulated about 5 freebies now at the coffee joint. I’ll probably do another frap day at the end of the month. Maybe the sugar will make me feel both yucky and better at the same time. And I can still keep my calories in check. I’ll see how I’m feeling next week. I probably just need a big ribeye and a mtnc day. They always make me feel better!

I broke my fast at mid-day yesterday & ate a big salad. The scale was down a little this morning, but DH is feeling better so we will have chicken & salad for dinner, and I expect that the scale to be up tomorrow.

Mick - Sounds like you're catching up on your missed sleep! My dad thought he was pretty slick getting me to look at the camera

FindingMe - The daiquiri shops get around the drinking & driving laws by having the drink & straw be handed to you separately The run is the day before the season kicks off, so the next day will be for boozing it up on Bourbon Street, although I guess any day is for that But there is a party after the race with food, music, and, of course, alcohol, so people will be boozing it up at Champions Square on a Saturday morning! Too bad you don't live closer. DH would hook you up with a ribeye hot off the grill. And even throw in a hotdog

yesterday:
L - salad w/lettuce, cheese, bacon, egg, Ranch dressing
D - coffee w/cream & Toranis

Morning everyone!

Mick – WTG on the new numbers! Was that 2 more off besides the 2 gained/lost? You are doing fab!!! I hope you are feeling good today!!!
MTNC DAY = Maintenance Day. I usually try to get closer to what I actually burn calorie wise. It rarely works and I normally gain anytime I eat that much. With my metabolism, it is more like a reboot. And then it takes me a few days to get the gain off and I swear never again. I have the dumbest body ever.
Now, I'm craving macadamias... yum.

Dimply – I bet that post-fast salad was scrumptious! I think the longest I ever went was around 50 hours and that first bite of food was unbelievable. Thanks for the invite. I wish I lived closer too! You don't know just how much I wish that were true. There is nothing better than a rib eye on the grill!!!

Well, I surpassed my weekly super stretch goal and lost 2.8 pounds this week. I had made a conservative, yet healthy loss goal for each week and that was going well, but we always want better than the minimum, right!?! If my body will just cooperate and I don’t go off the rails, I might just see my superduper stretch goal by trip time. When the scale is nice to me, I don’t mind feeling bad and I definitely don’t want to jinx anything. I’ll save the Mtnc Day for when the stall hits…I just need to have patience. Definitely not one of my strengths.

Have a great weekend everyone!
