Then Dead lifts.

60 KG X 8
70 KG X 6
80 KG X 4
90 KG X 2
100 KG X 1

Then six sets of three with 80 KG.

Hi, I'm new to the site, and like this thread.

Today, was a rest day for me, but tomorrow, going to the gym in the morning. I'm following the 5x5 lifting plan, so basically deadlifts/bench/squats three times per week, but different intensities. Then, jump roping afterwards, which I've discovered is really tough but fun!

I tried that about 8 years back.

I only lasted about a week.

Just could not recover between workouts.

But then I was well into my 60's at the time.

I quit squats about 3-4 years back.

My knees couldn't take it anymore.

Maybe you will fare better.

Thank you for the nice welcome puppy love and enemysugar!

@ Trade, I've run this program before a few years ago, and fell away from it because I'm a long distance runner, and the two don't always mesh well. But, I really want to gain strength back with weights, so we'll see after 90 days, where it ends up.

Today for me:

Deadlifts,bench press and squats - 5x5, with one drop set added at the end

20 minutes of jump roping
20 minutes on treadmill running

There are some good low carb/no carb protein supplement powders out there, I've found a few, and like a post workout protein shake, where I add kale, and some almond milk.

Going Hiking today in the Mountains. Planning on 2 Trails both with a Round Trip Circuit of 8 Miles, I've never did 16 Miles in a day, I'm going to spit it up and take a Break in the middle. Wish me Luck.

You'll have no problem doing double your daily mileage. I sometimes do a 6.5 mile trail when I'm on vacation and my daily mileage is only 2.

Of course if the terrain and grades are much harder than what you are used to all bets are off.

To me it's brutal.

I suspect a lot of these extremely intense workout plans you find on the internet are being done by roid heads.

Well, you can just do what you're able to do. There's no competition, except with ourselves, you know? That's how I look at it. I'm looking to just become leaner, stronger and faster with running...we shall see!

Today, I went to the gym, but today isn't a 5x5 day, so did bicep curls, ab work, upper back workouts and tricep work.

20 minutes jump roping
2 mile run

Well I nailed the Hike Folks!!! Even the Inclines, I was with my 3 grown Sons and they were Cheering me on. The last Hike had such a Steep Incline, I was saying to myself," Your never gonna do this you Crazy Old Bat" But hearing them believe in me gave me the lash push. I thank You Guys For Your Encouragement too.

Today I'm Walking 8 Miles in the Neighborhood and 20 Squats.

That's the best way to look at it for sure.

I occasionally enter these Senior Games Competitions for Bench Press and Dead Lift.

I've gotten first pace a few times. But that was only because I was the only one in my division.

If there are two people in my division, I get second place.

The most that were ever in my division was 4.

In that meet I got 4th place.
