, TM Buddies, here's my stats:

35 mins, 2.07 miles, 290 cals. based on trying out a cardio program on my TM which I've never used before. I like it because it moderates the speed and incline according to my heart rate/pulse. When it ended at 30 mins, I walked slowly for another 5 mins - I really should have stayed on for an extra 10 cals to make 300.
Will do that tomorrow.

Have a lovely day!

Thank you guys for allowing me to join.
Last night I did 2.3 miles at 3.7 miles per hour. I usually shot for 30 minutes only but decided I would try to go a little more. I was able to walk this in 35 minutes so not to bad.

Great job, Sara!!! Glad to see your post. again to Sara and Beth, our newest TM Buddies!

As I posted yesterday, I am trying out the program on my TM that basically adjusts speed, etc. according to pulse/heartbeat - oh, and age. Now, that I have adjusted the age...it gave me less miles on the TM and lower calorie burn. (I can't afford that!) So, I have to figure it out - got to look for the manual.

Anyway, I walked a total of 48 mins, 2.62 miles, 297 cals. (just shy of 300) - I am using the program first and then walking additional minutes on my own. This morning, because of the age adjustment, I was shorted by 0.33 miles and 71 cals. So, tomorrow, I will change the age and see what difference that makes.

Have a great day everybody!

Kind, I hope that you feel better. To answer your question, I am an Atkins low carb person - but basically, I am in the maintenance. I haven't really incorporated the menus like I used to, but I monitor my carbs and try to keep them between 20-30 a day.

But today getting back on track and hope I stay with it this month.
I did not weigh in today. But I was holding 136
I like to drop at least 2-4 a month. But with age , it slows down.Plus I have read that when we are close to our weight{Im 12 lbs from being Normal. It is slower.and need even less cals.
I want to really get useing my fit bit. But don't know if im useing it to the fullest.
I wish it came with a book.
Also on fit bit{That I don't like is.> that when u wear it. and driving or even riding in car it counts{Steps.
Have a great day today and we can do this.
I have to go in week or 2 and see about running shoes, Trying to jogg .

Changed things up a little bit today. I did a two mile walk with my hubby instead of the treadmill. It was only in the high 50's so it was nice being outside for a change compared to 4 days ago when it was 82*

Hey All!
I managed to get a PiYo sweat workout in today and 1 hour walking on the TM= 3.5 miles.
Even drank enough water today lol

Kind: I use my Fitbit charge on my non-dominant hand and have the sensitivity set to normal but to only recognize aerobic activity after 10 minutes...
Just an example : my 38 minute PiYo workou only added up to just over 100 steps.

I woke up late today in a mad rush to get the kids ready for school so I didn't weigh in. Hope to do that 2mro.

Well wishes to everyone who is sick!

Happy New Year, TM Buddies!! I'm sorry I've been MIA for so long. Life got in the way and I'm hoping that things are winding down so I have time to take care of me again. I'm just starting back to exercise this week....slowly but surely. Not sure I'll ever be able to get back to my former fitness but I'm going to work at it!

Thanks, Del, for sending me the message about the 2016 thread....will try to get in here on a regular basis again!

What an absolutely brilliant bonus to my new year. Linda, welcome 'home'. It is just lovely to see you back again. Ive always loved that photo of you grandkids but it must be pretty out of date by now, lol. Don't feel bad about loss of fitness, that is why we gather here, simply to do our best, day by day. I am a lot less fit and certainly heavier than I was back in the early days of Treadmill Buddies. Working on it.

Nice workouts to all others, hope you are feeling better Kind.

I did a great 60 minute Conditioning class today.

Respect for runners, but not an option for a 68 year old with arthritic knees.

Beach body Cize crazy 8 workout this morning and about 4.5 miles on the TM...
I weighed in at 147.2 today. I was at my "fittest" at 127 about 4 years ago ...so I have roughly 17 lbs to hit my goal.

Kind: I am a runner ..or was lol. I have t ran since my Ragnar race in September
I ended up messing up my right foot from overuse - pounding the pavement ... Somatoidosis or something .. Anyway ... It feels broke sometimes lol
Losing weight will help it ... I hope to start back up after I drop a few pounds.

Fitbit works fine for running just to track the basics. Just watch your stride length ... My running stride is way shorter than my walking so I had to adjust it.

Ooops, I forgot to include my "shower stretchercises" of squats, side bends and touching toes, etc. that I did Sunday, Monday and today! Nothing like the shower water massage while doing stretches...that's definitely my ME time!! Total relaxation!

Respect if you plan to be a runner Kind. I did Couch to 5k, 12 years ago, but it did for my right knee. Had to give it up

Thanks!

I did 15 minutes (3.15 miles) on my recumbent bike this morning. Also did a few minutes on the rebounder. I was happy I could do that much. Didn't want to push too hard for more yet but I'll get there!

Kissa,
I don't know if I would call it running. I'm slow and only did 2 miles none stop.
We will see, At this point I would like to just keep doing 2miles -2.5 miles none stop. get to point a to b as they say. and also keep walking, plus weights/machines and few other things{.Tredmil too.
Just like to get this weight down and to tone.
As we age so much harder.
Plus my lower back been hurting for few months, so time will tell.
I don't know what is wrong with my head,I mean I'm wanting to eat junk and other foods and just have a don't care.
That is not me, but of late it is.
Have not been to y for few days{But also getting over a head cold.
Hope this well pass before I really blew it and gain to much.
I'm close to normal weight for me 123{ then after that another 10lbs. But first 123{Now 136 {
Have a good week .

Today was 20.29 minutes/4.25 miles on the recumbent bike and about 2 minutes bouncing on the rebounder. Feels good to be moving again. Not sure I'll ever get back to my former fitness but I'm going to try!
