Back from vacation. First half went well eating wise, second half not so much. Waiting til Monday to weigh again.

I have never owned nor fired a gun. If I lived alone I probably would though. I count on DH to protect me and if he wanted a gun I would totally support it, but he doesn't, even after we were burglarized while sleeping (when living in a nicer upscale neighborhood).

I'm also not interested in fasting (even after watching a couple of Fung videos).

I'm probably going to track my daily weighings on my own for a while as I'm not feeling much of a connection here lately. But I hate it when posters just suddenly disappear so I thought I'd let you know I'm not giving up and hope to be able to periodically post some successes now and then. Wishing the best of long term success to you all for a lifetime!

That puts you in rarified air. And I'm happy for you!

In the 10 years since we 'moved' our business in the city, we've lost more stuff to theft that you can image. My wife's purse has been stolen TWICE (right out of the showroom, behind her desk, in broad daylight), we've had 3 vehicles stolen, (from parked in the backlot, overnight) and countless odds and ends out of our parking area. Somehow, someone found a loaded Glock 19 I had hidden in the backshop for protection.... and took that, about 3 Octobers ago. Nobody even goes back there normally, but it was hott and I had the doors open to let in the cool October air.

And we lost a TERRIFIC bullet smoker I had heavily customized myself, a spare tire (weird), a nice car battery charger, a Garmin GPS out of a locked vehicle-along with all the cordage, adapters, and windshield mount....and that's just the stuff I can remember off the top of my head.

Enough of this.... It just makes me mad all over again.

My fast is going well. I hope my fellow fasters are having a great one too!

I'm rarely seriously hungry anymore, since I've been Fat Adapated, but during a fast I get hungry for a couple of days. But waaay more than actual hunger, I'm bothered by just the simple fact I MISS EATING.

I really, REALLY just enjoy preparing food, and....of course... eating it.

The traveling idea you have for your senior years interests us as well! And I reallyenjoy the discussions on here! (Even if we wander off the topic from time to time)

I don't own a gun either.

30 hours in! So far so good! Oh and Stan, I have had two cups of doctored coffee. There's my confession. My rules are definitely not as hard core!

Can't leave doors unlocked anywhere in this country anymore. We did in the 50's, however. But then we also had bottles of milk delivered to our doorstep.

Different world back then.

Your Body. Your Diet. Your Rules.

I really miss my iced coffee while fasting. But unless most of the others in this group of players do some doctored coffee as part of the rules, I'll probably skip it this time. If we play again on another weekend, we can fine tune the rules. (Or not... I'm easy!)

My focus this time is clear. I've been about 204 and change for the best part of 2 weeks. I intend on beating this stall, one way or the other, Terri. So the timing for some flavor of friendly challenge couldn't have been better for me!

I got Michael hooked on the cold brewed version of iced coffee. My wife likes
to start with plain old Starbucks espresso, add our cream, Stevia, water, and ice.

I use 5 oz of Decaf in a gallon of tap water, over night. Stir a couple times before bed, Strain out the sediment in the morning, chill, and just pour over ice and Stevia. I add between 25 to 40 grams of heavy whipping cream, in a 42 oz Yeti Tumbler and sip it all day.

Sooooo good!

Susan46, I wish you were wrong about that. But you're not.

My oldest Son helps operate our family farm with my wife's brother in northern OK. Our machine shed is out in the middle NOWHERE. One stormy night, someone broke in and stole a brand new Ingersoll Rand compressor still crated and on a pallet, a high dollar commercial mower, and a decent 4 wheeler. First....they apparently went to a (very closeby) oilfield work site, stole a backhoe to load their loot on a trailer, and had to make 2 trips in the mud to haul everything off. It was a toad strangler that night....with severe weather warnings and all!

UNbelievable, but true.

Ate last 3 days and ready for another.
Got broth ready, Veggie, and bone broth{If need.@ Water and tea.
I still have to see how and what my body does when going off fasting for 2-3 days and what types of food and cals. that will not cause my weight gain. Though I know bodies seem to regain some. But some were There is a middle. Just have to keep doing and seeing what works for me.
Not weighing in till The 1st. of Oct. Then I know what I have done or not done from month to month. That in between is just that, The real truth is month to month.[For me
I will keep doing.

Rules shmools, your rules are yours, mine are mine, let's not fuss about it!

That said, I DO doctor my coffee, I use MCT powder in my coffee. (that I don't see on the nettrition website so I won't mention it's name)
It does add a few calories, but it melts into my coffee and adds a creamy texture, so it's "bullet proof" but not oily. I've tried bullet proof coffee with mct oil and butter but I just can't stand it. MY rules for ME say coffee and broth are ok. I can skip food, but don't try to take my coffee!

September Goal - 160
Other goals for this month - Just bought a home gym so... 3 days a week on that and ride my bike to work at least two days a week. That oughta do it. OH and start tracking my food better.

9/1 - 173.4
9/2 - 171.4
9/3 - 170.8
****
9/8 - 173.4 back where I started
9/9 - 172.6
9/10 - 172
9/11 - 171.4
9/12 - 170.2
9/13 - 170.2 Was Perfectly On Plan today but ate a bit more than usual
9/14 - 171.2
9/15 - 170.6
9/16 - 170.4
9/17 - 168.6

It's good to have to copy/paste my goals every morning, I think I'll make them more detailed. I haven't done one single one yet. No bike, gym is in a pile of parts, not one single meal tracked. The goals especially caught my eye this morning. I could definitely ride my bike to work tomorrow, no errands need to be run, weather is perfect. It needs a little work since I just installed fenders..........

Welcome,Fit@Fab.
Today is a fast day and on I go.
Each day at a time. I really like to do 5 days this week, But see.
Sauna and steam room also helps me detox. and I do walk some while fasting.@ 3 weight machines.
I hope for a good weigh in Oct.1st.and that will tell all how I really did.

Kinda more like I game for me.
Just not telling people I fast for that is when I really hear it. Bad for u. Why? and so on.
Like Stan said> Really fasting and how u do it is up to you and as time goes on you will see just what u can.
It is hard. But At least for me feel good after.
Then u start again. And that could go for any diet we do.
This month seems to be a good start for all of us.

It's water, mostly.

I don't feel too whippy at the moment.

I take some supplements...mostly for joint health, and inflammation, plus a Lisinopril each day. And I'm guessing that taking them on an empty stomach might not be the greatest idea.

I'll snag a nap after church. Maybe that will perk me up.

I'd thought I might go until tomorrow before breaking this fast. Now, I doubt that. I believe in listening to your body. I'm not inexperienced at fasting, and I've pulled the plug before....from not feeling well.

We'll see....

Everybody have a Super Sunday!!

Today I'm planting some shrubs, and azaleas and possible a baby maple. Thing is.. Muscles fatigued. I had to come inside and take an egg and water break to see if it would help. I really need to get them in the ground soon and today is a great weather day to do so. I mean how hard is it to make like 8 holes in the ground? I seriously feel defeated by something as simple as soil and grass. Lame.

Three shrubs in and I'm done.

Fried egg taco? Must google.. I'm unsure if this is good or gross sounding.

Okay googled.. Minus the mini hash browns looks cool. Kinda like a breakfast burrito without the wrap. Also found that taco bell has chicken taco shells? When did this happen, is it still happening and is it available in Canada? Must google...

Thanks,Terri. And I AM feeling better! Close to 100%!

But....I've decided I am going to go ahead and break fast @ 4:30.

I will evaluate whether I'm actually stalled sometime early next week. I'm at the point I expected things to get tougher anyways. So if I miss my 10 pound goal for September it really isn't going to disappoint me so much.

I read somewhere, you really aren't technically 'stalled' on Low Carb until you've been stuck whilst staying on plan.... (An important point...) for SIX weeks! If that's actually Truth, then I've never really been stalled. I can't remember where I read that, but it seems to me, if you are hanging tough on a KETO + I.F. protocol for a week--with no change-- well....that oughta signal a war is going on: Cranium VS Metabolism in a Battle Royale.

I'm prepared to change my plan of attack, but not just yet.....

Bike is fixed! Yay, definitely riding to work tomorrow.
I need to re-organize the greenhouse before I build the gym, once it's built it ain't moving, but good progress on that today. I'm going to wait to break fast until, uh, breakfast.

Had a rough night, my senior boxer Cash has a cough and was up all night and needing attention. He seems better now the sun is up and is happily sleeping away on the couch...wish I could do the same!!!

Happy Monday to all!

I'll bounce for sure, but I'm inspired by Charlotte. I'm going to try to minimize the reversal.

I watched a terrific video (two actually) of Dr. Benjamin Bikman on the subject of brown fat/white fat. He's a little technical....most research scientists are....but look it up on YouTube if you are wanting to better understand the current science on metabolism. (Low Carb Down Under Channel. Posted in the last few months.)

I'm declaring myself the winner (or wait.....the LOSER???) of The Great Low Carb Friends Epic Fast Of The 21st Century!! Okay. Just at my house. And just one weekend. But still, it's going on my resume. And may I just say, the vote was 1-0, so it was very close.

I would be up for another weekend 48'er soon, if anybody else wants in.

Here's to a great week everyone!!

Success! Right Stan!?

I love it when the fast knocks your hiney right OFF that plateau! it works EVERY.TIME.

Hey, I thought about doing the 48 more often too. It was a piece of cake. I kinda like the idea of it over the weekend though. That's when I usually get bored, and munchy. If I take food COMPLETELY out of the equation, it simplifies EVERYTHING!

Okay, I concede. You win.

Feeling really good this Monday. I have a LOT of work to do to get to where I was this time last year! (225)
