HELP VWG taste & Goodbye LCF

Hi everyone. I finally found a bread recipe that worked! The recipe was 85% VWG. It rose great, texture was great, color was amazing, but the taste was a bit off. How do I disguise the subtle taste of VWG. I know I've read it somewhere, but I can't find it again. The recipe I used had Oat flour,vanilla whey, vanilla flavoring, nothing else out of the norm. Can somebody help me before we loose each other.

Also where is everybody going when LCF cuts off. I know we're all devastated.
This is my support group. I feel like I'm losing my family.

Add some sweetener...I use liquid splenda...about equal to a quarter cup of sugar.

This bread is beyond good when toasted and slathered in your favorite butter or spread.

Ingredients

* 3/4 cup warm water
* 1/4 cup whipping cream
* 2 large eggs
* 1 Tbsp. olive oil
* 1/2 Tsp. salt
* 1 1/4 cups wheat gluten + 2 Tbsp.
* 1/2 cup oat flour
* 1/2 cup whey protein, vanilla
* 1/4 cup flax meal
* 2 Tsp. baking powder
* 1 Tsp. sugar
* 1 pinch stevia
* 2 1/2 Tsp. bread machine yeast

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350║F and butter a nonstick loaf pan.
2. In a large mixing bowl, add the dry ingredients to the wet one at time, being sure to mix and knead thoroughly. If you are using a bread machine, add the ingredients in the order recommended for your unit and run the dough cycle.
3. Place the kneaded dough into your nonstick pan. Wet your hands to smooth and shape the loaf to best fit the pan.
4. Cover and let dough rise in a warm place for between 60 and 70 minutes.
5. Bake for 50 minutes and wait until cooled to slice.

Since the yeast makes a feast of the sugar, it is not included in the carb count.

Cook’s Tip…

Gluten yeast bread can only rise one time, so do not let it rise in the dough cycle.
Also note that the dough will be sticky.

In addition, your carb count will vary slightly depending on the type of whey protein you use.

Gosh, I didn't realize the rye bread wasn't there. Use the oat bread recipe and sub rye flour for the ground oats..I added 1 tbsp. caraway seed for the 1 tbsp of flax..I think it could use a little more rye taste so next time I might sub rye for the flaxmeal also.

I replaced the vital wheat gluten in my recipe with wheat protein isolates 5000 and 8000. The two formulations behave differently in bread and I use 1/4 8000 to 3/4 5000. WPI is even lower in carbs than VWG, and I think it has way less of the VWG taste. And yes, a little more sweetener helps, as does the addition of oat fiber to your bread.

What are you using for your internet browsing - Firefox? Internet Explorer? Something else?

You SHOULD be able to simply type lcneighborhood.com in any address bar at the top of whatever browser you use. You MIGHT have to type www.lcneighborhood.com depending on what you're using and how it's set up. You SHOULD be able to simply copy/paste EITHER of those things I posted into an address bar and get right to it!

Thankyou for taking the time to help. That's so kind of you. This time I got tlcneighborhood. I guess I'll have to wait til my grandson comes to visit. I''m a total ignoramous (sp) when it comes to today's technology ---of all kinds. I just had to tell you that I appreciate you and all the wonderful help you've given all of us over the years.
