Literally, a difference of 25 pounds in 7 days -- guess I'd been retaining a little! :P Crazy, crazy stuff.
not at all! The first thing I did when i was up and around after my daughter was born was to weigh myself on the scale in the hall...and i'd only lost 7 lbs! I cried...(didn't take much to make me cry postpartum). My daughter was 6lbs 4oz (isn't it funny how you never forget that stuff?) so that didn't even account for the delivery! But it was a rough labor, I had pre-eclampsia, and they kept pumping me full of IV fluids while torturing me with a dry mouth...

Anyway, I know i lost 20+lbs that first week, I was breast feeding, too.

I think water retention causes irritability, or some of it anyway. I'm post-menopausal, but being bloated still makes me grumpy as hell. Kinda like constipation...

Deen, I had some DD's early on that were not good! I would fix dinner for my guys & be angry at them by the time I was done!! I even wrote a post about how to feed my guys. Eventually it all smoothed out & I rarely have a bad DD. It will happen for you, too!

Congrats on the weight loss!!

That's a lot of bathroom-time, Carly! But I see you had the loss to show for it, so yay!

Lili914 -- You keep thinking those good thoughts because I'll bet you're going to get a whoosh! I am trying to be a good girl now and wait until my birthday (June 5) to weigh again. Don't know if I'll make it -- then I started thinking, well, maybe I'll weigh on May 8 (DD's birthday) -- I don't know why -- there is something in my psyche that likes to latch onto these particular significant dates as goals or something. So weird! I mean, realistically, it's not better to weigh on those days than any other -- yet I still do it. *shrugs*

Granny -- YES, so you know what I'm talking about. My ObGyn thought I was nuts when I told him I lost 30 lbs since delivery (that was counting the 7 pound bambino) -- until I jumped on the scale. Then she didn't know what to say. lol I was also breastfeeding, and was one of those rare, unlucky women who gained while breastfeeding (getting almost up to 9-months-pregnant weight before I was done). You can imagine how frustrating that was, as everyone told me I'd lose, lose, lose... No, it made my estrogen levels so low, I'm convinced it caused pcos-like insulin resistance.

Shari -- Yes, that's when I'd get mad too!!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one -- making dinner you can't eat is VERY challenging. I've been taking my St. John's Wort and haven't had he irritability problem these past couple of DD's. Still paying regular pilgrimages to the porcelain goddess, though -- so hopefully she shall reward me with more water losses!

June??? That's essentially a million years away when dealing with the scale. I say weigh in on DD's birthday. I try and weigh in every two weeks. Oh and you were right I dropped four pounds. Good luck to you and if you're able to hold out until June you will definitely have to let me know your secret

I came to this thread to express my DD rage, or TOM as the case may be. I feel like I'm going to explode lol. Bf's got the living room strewn with his ebay stock and started raising hell when I tried to clean it up just now, after numerous "hints" for the past WEEK for him to take care of it. So to avoid screaming arguing I just have to live with it. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Thanks for being so supportive! It feels awesome to almost be at 20 lbs in two months, but I'm just taking each day as it comes.

Aww Cindy, deep breaths and maybe a few sarcastic comments to the bf would help just a little.

It didn't help, but thanks lili and congratulations on your weight loss! You've lost more than I have in 5 months, lol. WTG!!!

I'm a coupla days late on this but wanted to chime in:

Lisa - WTG on 20 pounds! You're doing so great!!!

Cindy - sorry your BF doesn't take hints. What is it about guys that hints don't work??? I don't blame you for being frustrated. Hope it's all blown over by now.
