A lot of meat this last week.

Merry Christmas to all.

126 but I have taken action on getting back near goal. I need some patience and a little time and steady focus. 2 pounds lower than a week ago is a good start.

Merry Christmas to all of you. Enjoy your presence!!!!!!

115.0.

Don't ask me! I have no idea. I'm doing everything the same as I had been for months and months. The only changes over the past four months are, I've had my thyroid medication adjusted (from 50 to 75 mcg), and I'm back to drinking regular caffeinated coffee (daily, pretty much) during the past month. Oh, and I haven't been working out for the past two months because of a knee injury. Those are the only things I can think of that are any different.

wow that is great Peanutte. What ever you are doing sure is working.

I am 117.4 today which is great considering I was a bit over 122 last week. I have to wonder how much of that was water weight gain. I do know my weight has been stable all week and slowly going down since I dropped the first few pounds. I have been eating cleanly. I did have a few bites of a birthday cake Wednesday night but the dinner left me starved and the cake was so good. So I tried some of my husband's. Luckily it was dark chocolate which I don't love. The filling was what got me. It was a raspberry mousse like filling. That is what I mostly tasted.

Oh and I am running again. Less but active. I think it helps.

Happy New Year to you all.

Goals?? I would like to maintain this weight. I would like to run one if not two marathons. I would like to do a better job staying in touch with my brothers and parents. They all live in different parts of the country.

Over the past year that I've been in maintenance mode rather than weight-loss mode, really all I care about is staying the course and not regaining.

178 again. After a few drinks on Christmas eve I was up to 180 but it came off by Wednesday.

Happy New Year everyone.

140.7.

No, really.

But I've had the stomach flu this week.

So unlike Peanutte, who I feel will likely keep this latest whoosh , my weight will certainly rebound.

S'okay. I have decided to head to 140 for "reals," though. I measured my body fat and it is still dang near 24 percent.

2011 will be the year for fitness goals, plain and simple.

Congrats, Loretta!

In fact, it seems like a lot of us are down this week ... wouldn't have guessed it, given the holidays.

Off to celebrate the last two hours and 52 minutes of 2010. I too wish you all a Happy New Year!

I weigh on Saturday mornings--and I finally broke 160 this am with 158.5!

Yes, I'm maintaining, but also trying to settle into the 150s range (150-159) as my maintenance level.

Getting out of the 160s was tough because I am struggling to transition from weight-loss mode to maintenance mode. I'm not gaining, but still haven't settled into the comfortable 'rhythm' that I had while losing.

But I'm sure it will come soon, as I get more comfortable with the process.

Nice to have you join us Leo. Congrats on that tremendous weight loss. What a wonderful feat you have accomplished.

Your comfort level will eventually settle. It is not uncommon to go way to low before you come up to a decent weight that you can maintain. Hang in there.

Hi everyone; I've not been so good the last few days. Everyone else seems to be doing great. I've got to get serious about this Maintenance thing or I'm going to wish I had. Not weighing but will Monday when I go to the doctor. Yuck.

Please don't be--I know you're sort of kidding though, too. I doubt I'm going to stay at 115, it's just a particularly low water weight fluctuation, that's all. I'm five-three-and-a-half. My usual weight has been between 118-120 for the past few months.

119.6.

hope I am just retaining fluid. no way I ate enough to gain a pound over night. The one good thing is the body fat part of my scale is down. I really want to be 118 or under and I can't eat much less then I am right now. I have been doing well for two weeks. I did have a few days were I had a peanut butter binge after horrible shifts at work. I ended that and maybe I am paying for it now.

I hear you Peanutte. I gained two pounds this week and stayed low carb. Obviously too many calories. Calories do count for my short 5 foot frame.

Oh, I am not the least bit disappointed about it--with my usual ups and downs throughout any given week, I'm actually surprised it's 116.6, especially since I should be getting my period any minute here.

I don't fret over fluctuations. They aren't real gains unless you find yourself at the top of your range (my range being about three pounds) and that weight sticks for at least a week, in my opinion.

Peanut I agree with your statement:
"I don't fret over fluctuations. They aren't real gains unless you find yourself at the top of your range (my range being about three pounds) and that weight sticks for at least a week, in my opinion."

The question is when do we call it a fluctuation and when do we claim it as a real weight change.

When I weighed in at 126, 127 for about 2 months I thought I would call that a real bona fide stuck weight.

Good work Cal.

123 today Maybe I am on the right track to seeing that 120 once more.

Loretta, congratulations on your downward trend!

In answer to your question about what we "count" as real and not just a fluctuation, I keep a weight log and can see my pattern over the course of a month.

Regardless of odd little ups and downs I record throughout the weeks, I look at the first Friday weigh-in and the last Friday weigh-in each month and compare the two. (If the month ends on a Thursday or something like that, I take the last weigh-in of the calendar month.)

Example: October of this year. Friday weights were: 119.4, 120.4, 119.4, 120.6. So for that month I noted an overall gain of 1.2 pounds.

December of this year, Friday weights were: 118.0, 119.4, 117.2, 117.6 (<--Thursday before Christmas Eve) and 115.0. I look at that 115 as an unprecedented low fluctuation and don't take it that seriously, but since it's on a Friday, I noted a 3.0 pound loss for December.

But by Monday of this week I was already up a few pounds so that "loss" was kinda erased.

I'm a lot less concerned with small incremental losses than I am with gains. If I am up at the end of the month, even by a pound, I keep an eye on it but don't get stressed out.
