Can I join

Hello all, I am in maintenance but gained a few. Not going to accept this weight gain so I wont change my stats. I will just move in the right direction, nothing to drastic. Although I do feel a little desperate to get it off
Just wanted to reunite with other low carbers again and surrender myself to accountability May I join this thread?

Aw thanks for the warm welcome, guys. South Africa is hot as hell at the moment, we have just gone into Autumn (beginning March) but it is still pretty warm. Should cool down in April, I love summer anyway so to me this is just great.
I am on pan today so that is all good and I am keeping myself accountable for every morsel, just can't seem to get this little bit off. So annoying!!
I am going to keep at it and just keep posting and I know it will be gone in ....... two weeks?

I read your blog. You are so much like me when it comes to food. I get so mad at myself for letting it control me.

Wow I haven't posted to my blog in ages. Food is my drug of choice. I must add there was a time I could not admit that without feeling a certain disgust and revulsion for myself. I hate the fact that food has so much of an influence on my life, I am working on this daily though.
my weigh in this morning was at 104 WTG Yippee for me Today is a good day.

We had a beautiful, sunny 82 degree day yesterday and I couldn't resist firing up the bar-b-que and fixing ribs. Of course accompanied by 3 beer.

It cost me one pound. I'm 176 today. Well worth it.

Happy St. Pats to all.

I'm posting a day early. 174 today. New adult low.

Last week I got a head start on St. Pats day due to corned beef being on sale for $1.17/lb. I bought 7 roasts and cooked two of them. I had corned beef for two meals on Fri., Sat and Sunday. Monday I weighed 178!

Since I don't actually use salt anymore this gain came as a surprise to me. I figured out that it was water retention so I quit my corned beef orgy.

Today though, I'm going to have the typical corned beef and cabbage and don't want to have to post a big number on Friday.

Statgazey,
I've given you credit on a post in the main forum for my recent drop from size 36 pants to size 34. I don't know where else you lurk, but I expect you'll see this post.

Your recent post about over eating protein and the 3 -'09 posts linked to it really helped me out. I was virtually zero carb but no movement on the fat at my waist. Dropping protein from 150 to 70-90 grams a day got me a few pounds and another size lower.

So, Stargazey, Thank you.

Ron that sure was a good price on the corned beef. I think I paid $2.29 a pound here in Ky.

125 today and happy enough with that.

Today I was 152, low end of my range. It's good because I'm off today on a short cruise, and although I intend to be vigilant and maintain, it's nice to be low rather than high in case I want to be just a 'little' indulgent.

128.6 today...but I have been a little sick (bronchitis and sinus) so this probably isn't real. Although...I have not been able to exercise and I usually lose weight when I am not jogging or doing dvds. Must have to do with muscle or something...

135...back up again...that's what happens if I'm not strict for at least 3 days before a weigh-in! Do you think that is normal?

Hi fischdeb1
Hope I can help, I was thinking that maybe this is your setpoint (I am having the same issues at preasent) so setpoints is where I am atm lol. Seriously though, sometimes your body is comfortable and it takes a little tweaking to get you moving in the right direction.
I also find if I am high on sodium it plays hell with the scale no matter how strict I am. I find this effects also the way my clothes fit which is a real pain in the ass for my mind set. Forget what they say about " it is just water weight" it makes me look and feel puffy wth lol

Sorry I haven't been here. I was eating a ton of bad things leading into my Half Marathon. It is over. I did really well and beat my best time so I am happy. Now I am back to business. At least through next week. I am going to Puerto Rico for a few days with my hubby and we will be eating too much I am sure. It is only three days and I will try to eat semi healthy but can't let my food choices dictate my time there.

My weight is stable but at my highest I like to be. I am still happy that I have gotten through the winter without gaining 4-5 pounds higher then this. I have work to do leading into summer but it isn't a huge number. I just want to trim down for marathon training season. Marathon training usually trims me down too. Lots of miles!

My weight today is 122.4. I never want to go over 122 again in my life so being very careful and eating very low carb for a few days and will start adding back in the healthy carbs. It is basically meat and fat for me and this is day two. I don't think I can do much more then this and tomorrow will add back my veggies.

It has stopped my binging. That is my biggest eating issue. I can binge on anything.

I will be back to my weekly weigh ins and posts because if I don't stay accountable I will not focus on healthy eating. Eventually I won't be doing any extreme dieting or low carbing but I need to get back into a mode where I am aware of what I am eating and I stop binging.

Hi all
I am sticking to 105 just cannot get lower and it takes real effort from my part to get the scale moving. The problem is my body is happy at this weight it has been at this weight many x's and likes it. I just feel a few more pounds would be nice and my clothes would fit just that little bit better. I must say to get myself there would have its own issues and I might just feel a little worn out at 102. I am determined with a little effort I could weigh that in no time.... but I need to make that shift into putting in the extra effort. Debbiedo I know exactly what you mean by you never want to go over a certain weight, I have been feeling pretty much the same and it is just a feeling of discomfort for me in general. I just feel yucky when I go over and don't even need to weigh myself to know that the bingeing has done its damage!! Just being good a few days in a row and I feel immedately better about myself. Why do we sabotage ourselves with bingeing, I will never understand why I continually have to? Sometimes I think I will never reach my goal because... Then What? I wouldn't have something to discipline myself with. Our relationships with food and our bodies are so complex!!

Tracey Ann, how tall are you? Your weight would be way too low for my 5 foot frame. I get to around 113 and I can't find clothes that fit well anymore and I lose any curves I have.

Funny thing is when I was in my early 20s I would have starved myself at this weight to get down to 105 or so. I think I have much more muscle now that I have been running. Maybe I just accept a higher weight.

I weighted 119.6 today. This is good since I was 122.4 on Tuesday. I have been eating very low carb since Tuesday. Yesterday I had salad and dressing and it was my first carbs other then what is in eggs, mayo and cheese. I will be away next week and know that I will eat more then I should. We are going to Puerto Rico and my husband has two dinners planned. One is at a steak house. I just have to do my best and get back on track when I come back.

Today I am increasing my carbs with some veggies but not tons. Tomorrow I run 12 miles and usually have PB and J before my run and GU( pure carbs) during my run. I need to carbs to fuel these runs or I feel awful. I will eat but watch the rest of the day.I just don't have another option with these long runs. I found if I low carb I drag and my legs feel like dead weight.

Hello strangers.

Back again with my tail between my legs. Had been doing great for so long I got a little over confident while celebrating DH's 70th with lots of parties and dinners out. Followed that with a skiing holiday in Germany, very little skiing and too much food and wine. Then a vile cold that kept me away from my workouts.

Last Friday looked fine at 134 then aaarrrggghhh! Monday the scales read 138! Today is a little better at 136.

It is so easy to let these things pile up. I eat on plan but do drink wine. Eventually something has got to give.

Lovely to see so many of the old faces still posting.

For those of you who don't know me, I am a 63 year old maintainer of almost 10 years. I have twice tried to follow Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin within those years, and on each occasion gained 10 lbs. Low Carb is the only way for me, along with classes of many different kinds at the gym.
