WEDNESDAY'S ROLL CALL, Aug. 12

Middle of the week, picking Silas up today, so will be on the road late afternoon.

That's what's on tap, besides doctor phone calls for dh's meds again.

Pleasant dreams.........

Good Morning Doris and All that follow...

It is a cooler day up here, rain and thunder bumpers overnight. It is predicted a high of around 68F today and cloudy.
Nothing too exciting on for today.
I meet the group for coffee and a chat at 2pm to 4pm.
I have an appointment with the insurance guy at his office at 4:30 to renew my car and house insurance. Whew!
I do need a few errands so I hope I don't run out of steam by then to pick them up on the way home.
Not sure if I will make the Walk with DD and her dogs later this morning. Will see.

Anyone else doing exciting things on this Wednesday Hump Day! (thought of Lainey)

Well, my exciting morning was going for blood work. I was going to stop on way home to eat since I was fasting but decided to come home instead.
Ginny, it's hot as h--l here. The heat index was 104 yesterday! When are you returning?
Nothing much happening here. Oh, the get together on Monday that was my turn to arrange turned out to be a success. Twenty were there, the food and service was outstanding. So, I have about a year to plan another one.
Everyone, stay cool. It won't be long til everyone is complaining about the cold and snow.

Wishing you a good blood test result, Julie!!! That sounds like you planned a great event, I can't remember the restaurant you chose, though, was it ethnic?

Howdy, Linda, have you guys gone on a motorhome tour yet this season?

Susan, enjoy your chat group and yes, the insurance appt., always one to make you put your thinking cap on. At least it has cooled off there.

It was supposed to be a bit cooler today, only noticed in the early AM, humidity was down a bit, dh was out looking around the yard, and doing some stuff, but really, it's already warmed up to not be fun to be hanging around outside. Finally made an appointment with a Blinds place, the guy is coming Monday morning at 7:30 to measure the window and show me what he's got...........lol. They do repair them, but I want new, I want ones with some color and not white, it's a big window seat window.

Picking Silas up later on, we haven't seen him in a while, will pay attention to see if he has learned some new words over the past 5 days or not.

Take Care, gang!

Hey y'all....as our temps start rising today, I'm sitting in the kitchen with no plans for doing much of anything. Nadine may be over this morning, so I'll catch up on her news.

Susan, 68 degrees sounds so good. That is Celsius isn't it....how does that translate to what we're familiar with, or did you already do so? Busy day, lady, hope you get all things accomplished.

Julie, so glad the plans worked out well and it was a success...hate those fasting blood tests and now I have one monthly as they check liver function for the new med.

Doris, sounds like a good plan to change to color on the blinds.. Good luck with Silas....you'll be pooped tonight. Yep, our temps are up a few degrees but more so tomorrow so your's should dip a bit more. We've got the humidity coming too. They're saying not as much as the last heat wave. Sure will be glad when that high pressure area gets into the flow and moves out...but that will probably be in a couple of months.

Waving at all and wishing you a great day

Got some of that grass cut Monday, will try to finish tomorrow morning.

Went with DH to the VA yesterday,we got there for 7 got the blood work. His visit with the team was 11:30 so we went to breakfast.Boy they sure were expensive for a place that serves vets.Bacon was 89 cents a strip and it was not good too strong.Anyway were didn't leave that place until 2:30.good news they transferred him to Lafayette, much closer,so I was happy.

Tired as heck but back not too bad today.

Gladys, I'm glad they transferred C to a city closer to you, that helps with the fatigue of having to go so far everytime. Maybe the lowering humidity will actually happen tomorrow, so you can finish up the mowing!!

Mary, I'm glad Nadine will be visiting you, it's been awhile, so you can chit chat together. Did you see pictures online yesterday about that huge dust storm over Phoenix again, they posted videos, complete with music to add to the drama, lol.

Using phone again, so won't be too long.
Beautiful weather here, Julie I can just imagine what it feels like there.
Still no A/C on.
I'm getting a bit homesick, ready to get back to my own routine. Dog has been good so far, sure is spoiled. I'm getting a little bored, nothing happening till Friday lunch when I meet with teacher friends.
Don't leave for home till Sun afternoon.

No good music places in Roanoke during the week, but going alone might not feel right, Ginny, darn it. I remember when we drove the highway in that part of Virginia, and I saw a sign, Birthplace of Cyrus McCormick", I told my husband to turn off so we could visit, he thought I was nuts!!! Lol!
Are you done with the coloring book? Are there public gardens to visit, maybe you are not into that though.......sorry.

It's danged hot here, folks, the weather people are just not very good here.

Off to do dishes and go get Silas soon.

Well,Nadine didn't coma, call or text so don't know what's upp.. Oh well....she's having a tough time now, so maybe tomorrow....sigh!

Other than that....nuttin' happening here. Oxygen delivery and some house work done. I did get a really good canteloup at the market and it's in the cold chest cooling down for later.

Yep, Doris, that high is just wobbling around...did see the haboob on tv last night. Particularly liked the video shot by the tourist on the hill that was trapped for a while We used to get some of those windstorms up at Fort Irwin. Once I had to park the hummer and get in the lea of it to keep from breathing in the dust. Had to wash the vehicle, the clothes and myself when we got in from the field that day, fershure!!!! And it wasn't as bad as those they get in Arizona....that's three or four of them this year already.

Mary, That 68 was F. I had converted it already for you guys. Ha!
68 Celsius would be off the charts.

When I walked out of the office building at 5:00 today, the temp was 99, but as I got into the car, it started to rain. For all of 10 minutes. The temp dropped to 86 - so nice - but, 20 minutes later it was right back up to 99. Such a tease!
