Sugar's Kickin Carolina BBQ Sauce

This is My Family's Vinegar Based Sauce Recipe for Pulled Pork. I Separate my Pork From the Family's as this Sauce has Sugar in it. It is Great without the Sugar but if you like a sweeter sauce, you can add Splenda.

3 Cups ACV
1/2 Cup Water
2 Tbsp. Crushed Red Pepper
1/4 Cup of Brown Sugar (optional)
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tbsp. Low Sodium Soy Sauce
2 Tsp. Salt
2 Tsp. Black Pepper
1 1/2 Cups of Reduced Sugar Catsup
1 Tbsp. Minced Ginger (shhhh Granny's Secret Ingredient....Don't Tell...)

I put the Sauce on Simmer for about 45 Minutes then After it Cools, I put it in a Gal. Jar till I need it.

Looks great. I prefer a Carolina vinegar-based sauce myself.
This perhaps makes about five cups?
I'll try halving it.
How long will it last in the refrigerator?

Thanks!

Rexsreine, the sauce above will last indefinitely in the fridge because of the amt of vinegar. My homemade doesn't have quite as much vinegar and I've held some for over a yr before. I have a fridge in my basement and sometimes I forget something that may be hidden by other things. But from making bbq sauces for 40+ yrs, I can tell you, if they contain right much vinegar, they just don't spoil.

Thanks for the tips on keeping the sauce. I rather thought it would last a while, just wanted to make sure!
Grilled burgers tonight so I know what I'm making this afternoon!

I make a very similar recipe, DH loves it. I put it in a ketchup-type squeezie bottle.

His very favorite is my other "regular" type LC bbq sauce, mixed half and half with the vinegar-based one. I also keep a squeezie bottle of that in the fridge!
