It is gonna be on the baking aisle at the store Myles. Or you can buy it at Amazon I imagine. Danged expensive. Like $5 for a little bitty bottle of it. This time of year it may be sold out so you might flag an employee and ask them to make sure you aren't overlooking it.

You can make it yourself but it isn't much cheaper I don't think. Google 'pumpkin pie spice recipe' for a lot of links.

went to the store and bought my pure pumpkin filling (which had more carbs than the one earlier in this thread), but no spice, i asked the chick at the store and she said that they don't have that. Damnit!

Yeah, get the pure pumpkin stuff. I couldn't find the spice at Wal-Mart. I think I found it at Albertsons.

Myles - Health food stores usually sell bulk spices, I get my pumpkin pie spice there - it's much cheaper.

Thanks for the bump, Vicki! I had never seen this, and it looks like something I'd love.

So today, I started looking to buy vanilla whey/protein powder locally. Seems it only comes in huge vats! I don't do protein shakes much, because I can't stand the smell and taste of whey. But in this, I doubt it would be a problem.

I have plain protein powder for use in baking, and have never needed to have vanilla. Can anyone suggest where I might be able to find a small (12-16 ounce) container of vanilla powder with minimal carbs? Brand name? Does that size even exist? Or is it only available by the barrel?

I found on Amazon (and I'm pretty sure my local Hy-Vee has, too) a 12-oz. can of Designer Whey French Vanilla. I have mainly used this one.

Many thanks, Shirl!! Just ordered it from Amazon. Hardest part will be waiting for it to arrive so I can make this!

Trader Joe's used to carry whey protein powder in smaller containers, probably 12 to 16 ounces. Haven't looked for any in ages, as I bought the big containers from Netrition, but they might still have it!

Got my vanilla whey protein and tried this today. Very good, but had to thin it way down. Probably my fault. I had frozen the pumpkin and didn't use ice at first. Added some unsweetened almond milk and a splash of water. Also, it needed some additional sweetening for my taste, and I added a touch of ginger and a couple of drops of orange extract. Awesome! I don't have much appetite frequently, and this will be my go-to for those times to keep up with nutritional needs.

Thanks, vli1127, for the bump!
