WOE: Low Carb
Yesterday (Saturday) I managed 50 minutes total on a recumbent bike. Today, I've done 40 minutes. I'm really glad for this thread, it keeps me motivated.

I'm thinking of getting an elliptical because it's such a good low-impact workout. Several are available on the local craigslist for $100 but I'm not sure my arthritic knees can manage it. A friend of mine belongs to a gym, and I may ask if I can go as her guest to try one out. I haven't used one in years.

Puppy love, what are "Cize" "Piyo" and "T25-alpha-speed"? Some sort of gym equipment or workout routines? Your dedication to doing a daily workout is awesome, even though I don't know what it all means, lol.

40 winks they are Beach Body DVDs.

Update: getting nerves burned on lower back today and Tuesday, following week neck, week after upper back. My specialist only works at surgery center on Mon and Tues. Not worried about those more worried about the increase in leg pain. Have tried numerous procedures nothing works due to extensive damage to lower back from car accident therefore the leg pain, your lower back holds the nerves that go to your legs.

Puppy, My thoughts are with you today and tomorrow, I am hoping for smooth sailing today and a quick recovery, with the least pain. I wish I could be there with you but alas...I am on the other coast...I will have to settle for being with you in spirt my Dear Friend......

8 Miles of Walking today. Went to the Beach and did it there it's much cooler. 15 Sit Ups and 20 Squats. Had to be out of town a couple of days but I got my walking in going around and around the Hotel Parking Lot. Hotel Security kept giving me the Evil Eye.... I finally looked at him and said....If I promise not to Hot Wire any of the Cars or Steal any Hubcaps will you stop glaring at me He looked embarrassed and went inside.... I got to finish my walk in peace!!!!

Enemysugar anytime your away a couple of days I know your traveling for work and walking in the hotel parking lot. I walk my dogs in the middle of the night several times cause I don't sleep well. This has led me to learn who drives home drunk among other things....,! They should be paying us for security......lol

I did 60 minutes on my recumbent bike today (Monday). Ate right too and shopped craigslist for an elliptical. I'm at my lowest weight since 2013 and I'm determined to keep dropping the pounds. Just one more pound to lose to drop from obese to overweight category. No twinges of knee pain today either - a wonderful change from my norm.

40winks. Congratulations on it all you are doing amazing! Research shows exercise helps control pain and helps with physical ailments. That is why I exercise so much. I am so happy for you that you are experiencing the same benefits. It has truly saved/changed my life.

Thank you so much, Puppy Love. When I had physical therapy for my arthritic knees, the third week they started me on a recumbent bike, and it definitely helped. Didn't keep it up, though, even though I had an r-bike in a storage room. Finally started back on it last Christmas and re-started low carb eating on Jan. 1. Exercise plus weight loss plus the niacinamide I take have nearly wiped out my knee pain.

Right now I'm feeling rather exhausted. Spent 2-3 hours this morning shopping with a neighbor and haven't done any bike time yet.

You're so supportive, Puppy! So sweet. I started with 5 minutes a day too. How did your medical treatment go? Are the benefits immediate? I hope so.

Enemy Sugar, you work out so hard! Both of you do. I'm in awe. For a while there, I was adding a scant tsp. of sugar to my morning coffee, but it caused me cravings (candy bar cravings) so I cut the sugar from my coffee and the cravings went away. So I think your posting name is spot-on brilliant.

I got my energy back this afternoon and did two 20-minute stints on my trusty recumbent bike.

Medical treatments this week was nerve burning lower back left side one day then right. Next week is neck left then right. Also have appointment to discuss options of treatment for leg pain which is actually the worst pain. I've already tried numerous things with no success. I'm willing to try anything but pain medication. Not a day goes by that I don't miss them though it didn't ever get rid of the pain completely but it sure helped.

I was thinking about you this morning. You are truly amazing at pushing through all of this pain, folks that do not endure pain on a daily bases have a hard time understanding. I had a surgery some years ago that left me with chronic peripheral neuropathy in my hands and feet and lower legs. I understand nerve pain...Some days it just hurts(I pray for those) and Some Days the pain is Unending I deal with those...No day is pain free...I live with that....I had lots of Doctors and Lots of Opinions and Lots of so-called Pain Killers but still the pain. Now I get up every day and I try to push through. that's all we can do...cause we ain't giving up!!!!!

Amen Enemysugar...I get up every day and give it everything I got! My children have always been and will always be my motivation. That's why it upsets me so much when anyone tells me I exercise too much even though I'm honest and say I do it to help control pain. Exercise has saved my life. I will always have pain but exercising has helped me get off of opioids so my children don't have to find me dead on the floor.

Forgot to post yesterday but got in 40 minutes on my recumbent bike. This morning I was rewarded with a one pound loss.

Pain is a horrible thing and I wish the medical establishment had better answers.

Did 20 minutes on the r-bike this morning and may do more later.

My elliptical will be delivered tomorrow. It's second hand (from craigslist) but is most welcome in my life. I used one years ago in a gym, but this is the first I'll have at home. I'm so looking forward to using it regularly.

Did two more sessions on the recumbent bike for a total of 60 minutes today. Again today, my knees were pain free. Awesome.

Thank you, Puppy! The elliptical is here and I like it a lot, but just did one minute, lol. It seriously stretches my Achilles tendon so I'm going to ease into using it. I'll probably do another whole minute later today.

I was amazed to see I dropped another pound this morning. Highly unusual, since I dropped one yesterday too. I'm giving the credit to the tuna I ate last night.

Except for those 60 elliptical seconds, I got no formal exercise so far today. I decided where to put the elliptical -- in front of my bookcases -- so first I had to clean the bookcases because they needed it, and because it would be much harder to clean them after the elliptical is in place, and because I rewarded myself for dropping from "obese" to "overweight" with the retail reward of eight new books.

So I spent 8 hours clearing shelves one by one, sorting books, cleaning and flipping over the empty shelves (because they tend to warp a bit from the weight of the books), rearranging and refilling the shelves. (Guess who has too many books, lol.) Anyway, it's been grubby and sweaty work and an hour on the r-bike would've been so much easier.
