Tea

I am extremely sensitive to bitter. I like tea and I would like to drink some that tastes sweet and not bitter.

The only tea I have been able to find that tastes good without adding sugar is Bengal Spice.

Does anyone else know of any?

There are several teas that I would swear have a sweetener because the of sweet taste. One in major grocery stores is Tazi sweet wild orange. I don't use any sweeteners so it's actually too sweet for me

This one is really good - it's white tea, so not bitter at all:

Numi Organic Tea White Orange Spice, Full Leaf White Tea

Also if you go to Amazon, search for Varie tea - you can get a huge assortment to try and see what you like.

My favorite tea is hot cinnamon sunset by harney&sons. It's not the cheapest tea but it's the most delicious!

Throat Coat by Traditional Medicinals is super sweet, but the sweetness comes from licorice root.

Licorice can revert active cortisol to inactive and - well I knew what ever else it does a few months ago, but its bad, you really don't want inactive cortisol. Though active cortisol is also bad, active cortisol help in some ways. Never mind, google it. Licorice can be bad.

Turmeric cayenne and ginger - how can that be bad, throw in coffee maker with the tea I have used a few times and when its brewed - put in with heavy whipping cream.
Yea I've done that a few times.

Thanks.
Srinath.

Has anyone tried Roasted Dandelion Root Tea? Well, it is supposed to taste like coffee and it does..No caffeine..However, it did need a tiny bit of sweetener to take the bitter taste away.

Isn't chicory a member of the dandelion family? That makes sense then that the dandelion tea would resemble coffee. I'm interested in checking that out!

Do you find it to have a diuretic/laxative effect? Dandelion root is in my Triple Leaf Herbal Laxative Tea (along with senna, licorice, rhubarb, mulberry and ginger) and it's my go-to tea when I need to get things...moving again.

In India Chicory is a regular addition to coffee. You can buy it blended to your preference like 30% this, 30% that and 40% chicory. But we all thought chicory was bad cos it was cheaper and would make coffee look muddy. Better yet, roasted barley, carob and chicory blend into a very very very coffee like mix with no caffeine.

Chicory is an anti oxidant power house, and it is considered a weed. So sad. Look up chicory and it will usually grow wild (atleast in the southern 1/2 of US) if you haven't put weedicides in your soil. IMHO the super hero's of the "weed" genre are purslane and chicory.
Dandelion is awesome too, but I find its too bitter, and I don't have the patience to make it into tea. I pluck it and eat it.

Thanks.
Srinath.

Teavana has a peach tea that is outrageously good. Also, Celestial Seasonings' Tangerine Zinger, Raspberry Zinger, and their berry flavored teas are wonderful and very naturally sweet. Also the honey-chamomile.

I bought Chicory coffee at Trader Joe's. It's okay.

I've made my own dandelion root tea from the weeds in the yard. You boil the roots for a while for the best flavor. This is an excellent thing for your liver, so I hear. Personally, I just wasn't sure to do with all those weeds... seemed a shame to waste them. It's bitter!
