Turkey Jerky

I was watching the Talledega race and NEEDED a snack! A few weeks ago my local Kroger had turkey bacon on special so I bought a couple of pounds and stuck it in the freezer.

I thawed it out and put six slices at a time on a microwave safe platter. I sprinkled it lightly with freshly ground pepper and a little garlic powder and cooked in on high in the microwave for two minutes, turned it over, and cooked it an additional 2 minutes.

Turned out crisp and tasty! This was Jennie 0, which is not my favorite brand for jerky, but it filled the bill. Salty, spicy snack for watching the race.

Use your favorite jerky seasonings.

I have a 1200 watt microwave, so yours may be different and take more or less time.

Back in my meat eating days, I used to use the thin sliced deli turkey and made jerky in my toaster oven.
