These are delicious small snack cakes. I made a berry short cake with mine. I will definitely be ordering more.
I tried all three smart cakes. They were tasty but way too expensive for me to order again given that they are each the size of a small square cupcake/muffin.

ditto, tasty but too pricey for what you get.

I might be the only one, but I didn't like the cakes at all.
They tasted like flavored air to me. lol

I have tried the Smartbuns and love them. Hadn't thought about cutting them in thirds, great idea, or toasting them, definitely going to have to try that. I have also tried the cinnamon and chocolate cakes and love them both (haven't tried coconut because I don't like it). I still joke that they are lying about the nutritional content of these products because nothing that tastes this good can have such great nutritional values.

Quick note about Smart Cakes. Yes, they are light as air but somehow they are very filling to me. Maybe the fiber? If I eat a couple for my late afternoon snack they really tide me over until dinner.

Interesting that these buns are made of fiber, whey protein and eggs mostly.

I made French toast with the Smart Buns the other day - added Nature's Hollow syrup, fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Turned out nice.

It took me a while, but I finally ordered some Smart Buns. They arrived this morning and I just had a grilled cheese.

The flavor and texture were great. It was a little too much bread for the cheese. I was planning to cut the biggest side in half, but it was cut super evenly.

I can't wait to try a burger on one.

Remember when I said I was making bread dumplings along about Jan 2017?
Well I did, but I also got the flu which sent me to hospital and was very ill for
2 months. Went hospital twice in Jan. I just came across the recipe today when
DH got my Kitchen Aid mixer down and placed it on kitchen counter. There it was
inside the big bowl. I will cook them up in chicken bone broth and if good, will
post. I just found the post where I said I am making them. I am hungry for chicken
and dumplings. We shall see.

I keep these buns in my freezer mostly for when I make sloppy joes. Now I'm going to have to make a grilled cheese sandwich! Why didn't I think of that?

The other night I had pulled pork with Guy's SF sauce on a Smartbun. I buttered and fried it first, then added the pork and a little coleslaw. Mmmmm.

I also butter and grill mine. Toaster didn't work for me. I slice in thirds. Tonight was a tuna melt.

Great Buns of Fire! Can we do this?

I finally ordered the Smart Buns and we had them with grilled burgers last night.
Excellent buns and DH even forgot he was eating one!

They are quite expensive, though, and I won't be ordering anymore during our very hot summer - ice pack can't stand up to the heat in SC!

Anyone think one of our recipes (with as little gluten as possible) would make a good approximation of this little bready delight?

TIA

Wow. I ordered the Smart Cakes finally with my most recent Netrition order and I just can't believe these little cakes are THAT low carb and calorie. I consider some of us here to be some of the most inventive home cooks of all time, and I'm stumped that they could make such delicious snack cakes from oat fiber and flax. They taste better and way fresher than something like even Hostess.

lol I'm happy to have found something like this, but also extremely skeptical because they taste THAT good. 38 calories and 4 net carbs!

Not cooking much right now. Forgive me for not keeping up with the
dumplings. I've been ill most of the year and not up to being very creative.
Energy and lung capacity has been low. Working to make a come back.
I dearly love real dumplings.
