Netrition Must Haves??

I'm going on a shopping spree since the whole lot will have to ship to Denmark, and I don't want to do that too often!

What I'd like to know is what you'd buy there, if you had 200 bucks to blow. What are your favourite items? What are staples in your kitchens when it comes to low-carb cooking? What are the items you think I definitely shouldn't pass up?

I've only just recently discovered Almond Breeze and Da Vinci Syrups. I've yet to purchase whey powder, protein powders or cook with almond or coconut flours. I'm sort of a newbie when it comes to all these great products and have been muddling along by myself the last year, making do with what this country has to offer (zilch). I've only just heard of xylitol and Stevia and erythritol!

So folks, help! Where do I start?!

Hi!

I just spent about that at Netrition, but most of my order consisted of supplements.

I do usually buy several items that you can look into:

Sweetleaf stevia powder
Sweetleaf liquid stevia
Raw almonds (for homemade almond milk and almond flour)
Organic golden flax seed
Organic vanilla extract
Organic virgin coconut oil

If you like baking...

erythritol (must-have!)
macadamia nut oil (baking, any recipes that call for oil instead of butter)
coconut flour
almond meal
Nutiva coconut oil

The Chocoperfection bars are good if your body can handle the fiber. Mine can't so I stay away, but the taste is right on and perfect for chocolate chips. Have fun shopping! I'm jealous.

Stevita fruit-flavor powder

One of the things that is helping me get my 128oz daily water quota into me is Stevita fruit-flavor powders - especially the cherry flavor, although I like lime and grape too. One tsp flavors 32oz of water. Less is good too. Depends.

Orange was a total bust. Just not right, somehow, in my opinion.

I also like Bran-a-Crisp, but that's a Norwegian bran-rye cracker that you can probably find easily right where you are. No sense in paying freight on it!

I just started using vanilla WPP (whey protein powder) as a morning jolt of protein that I mix with hot water and raw cacao and espresso crystals and then add a few Tbs of VCO (virgin coconut oil - NOW brand from Netrition) for fat. Adding that to my LC plan really makes a difference in my energy level. Wow!

I just got back from visiting a local healthfood store and now have: powdered pure Stevia, coconut oil, virgin coconut oil, xylitol and whey powder. I'm dying to start cooking with almond flour/meal but they simply don't have that here -which is INSANE since this country is practically made of marzipan and you can't swing a stick without hitting some sort of almont pastry or candy! I'm going to ask one of the local bakers where they get their supply. In the meantime I've bought a hand mill and will grind my own.

I did see macadamia nut oil there and it was in my basket for a good 15 minutes before I talked myself out of buying it. I'm sure it'll end up in my pantry before long!

Mountain Girl: I've been wondering a lot about flaxseed. Cleochatra recently wondered about the carcinogens it can release when heated, so I'm on the fence right now when it comes to flax.

Zer: I saw some of those Stevia-sweetened drinks and some of them look so freakin' good! They don't have grapejuice or lemonade in this country either, so when I saw the Roadside Lemonade flower the ol' salivary glands got to pumpin'. It's nice to hear some comments about it. Also, thanks for your comment about the coconut oil. It would never have crossed my mind as something you could add to a hot drink! I think the mind will boggle with possibilities...

That's too bad you can't find almond meal in your area! The price is much better online, though. Same with erythritol and xylitol (gives me tummy issues so I stay away, but YMMV). It is nice to buy it pre-packaged because they remove the skins from the almonds before grinding, which makes a pretty baked good. If you don't care about the appearance, make your own or use pecan meal. Much cheaper!

Netrition's price on Mac Nut oil is wonderful. The bottle is huge! Makes great nut butters and quick breads. You will not regret the investment. I totally do what you do when it comes to shopping and taking stuff out of my cart at the last minute (and going back to buy it later)!

IMO NuNaturals stevia is tops. The pure white extract is not bitter at all and very concentrated. They don't carry it at netrition, though.

Hi MissT…
They host this site, and yes, I order things from them.

Chocolite Triple Chocolate protein bars (& other flavors as well), and a lot of other items over the years.

I just got my xxxxx'teenth order and tried the torani salted caramel syrup -very good!
ez-sweetz; stevia glycerite; coconut flour are usually staples.
Don't be afraid to order, their packaging is really the best and their customer service is outstanding.

Many of the products have customer reviews on their page. Check them out. I found that they are extremely accurate.

For me personally, the coconut flour took some getting used to. I started using it mixing it 1/3 coconut flour, 1/3 almond meal and 1/3 golden flax meal to get used to the taste. So if you're considering it, I suggest adding golden flax meal to your list as well so you can temper in the flavor. It's not a "bad" flavor, to my tastebuds it was just "different".

I don't really like the mixes that are pre-made. I prefer to have total control over what goes into the mix.

I definitely agree on the chocolite products - I also order oat fiber, xanthan gum, some of the dixie diner's products. It's been a while since I've ordered La Tortillas from them, but they'll probably be on my next order.

Netrition is great (and that's not just because their relationship with the forums - I wouldn't state it if I didn't think it!). I'd definitely agree in suggesting you check the reviews, and stick to ordering single items (not the bulk sales) on your first order unless you already know the products. Good luck!!

I love Netrition. I've been ordering from them for years. The shipping is always fast, the pricing and selection great. I buy Davinci syrups, sugar-free oreos, BSN supplements, ez-sweets, low-carb chili by LC Homestyles, all kinds of low-carb candy, Nature's Hollow preserves (the best!) and lots of other stuff.

I've only ordered once, but I took advantage of their flat rate shipping and ordered 6 different DaVinci's Sugar Free Syrups and 6 pumps. They were each individually wrapped in a Styrofoam case and then all taped together and securely packaged. Such care! My order was dispatched quickly and I even got a little Netrition post-it notepad in the box.

Great first impression, will definitely be ordering from them again. Especially after seeing the TINY bottles of Torani syrups for like $4.50 at the store here.

My next order will have some GG Crispbread. I ordered from a different online retailer, and honestly at first I didn't like them. But on my second package, they "clicked" with me. I top them with everything... cheddar cheese, spinach dip, peanut butter, cream cheese, guacamole, YUM!

I also want to try this PB2 powdered peanut butter I see mentioned often. Never been able to find it locally, and I've been down all my local grocery stores' "health nut" aisles.

My two favorites so far are:

English Toffee (so rich and delicious, especially in coffee)
Huckleberry (great for Italian sodas and coffee, especially if paired with equal pumps of Chocolate... mmmmmm chocolate covered huckleberry)

I'm kinda a freak in the fact that I don't care for chocolate shakes but I the syrups I always have are Chi Tea (great combined with Almond Breeze), banana (as in strawberry/banana or blueberry/banana shakes), coconut and Monin O'Free's blackberry for when I make blackberry shakes (here is the link to Monin: http://www.netrition.com/monin_syrups.html). I have not tried the pineapple but would be good with the coconut. DO NOT waste your money on the peanut butter. It is terrible, IMO.

Just saw that about the choc. today I'm missing it already! Hoping they get it back in soon! So far, this was my fav. Love the cherry too.

EZSweet is wonderful too! Wish I'd have found it years ago!

Been buying from them longer than I've been on this forum. Always fast and well packed.

Here's the deal....when you lose your cravings for the crap you are used to eating, you will almost certainly fall in LOVE with some of these products! These special LC products are what got me through some real tough spots. Try not to over-analyze. Just stick to the plan and when you are allowed, order a few things and see what you like.

I had the Davinci chocolate syrup in my cart for a while then when I went to order it, it was out of stock. I ended up buying the Torani brand instead. Hoping it's good too.

Anyone tried that brand?

I find the monin brand of chocolate is much better than the davincis. Haven't tried the torani chocolate, but their salted caramel is amazing.
