JUDDD on a Cruise?

Hi, everyone! I am a newbie to JUDDD--just started on Monday, and I'm loving it so far! I want this to be my permanent WOE, not just a temporary diet. In less than two weeks, my DH and I are going on an 8-day cruise, and I was wondering if anyone has stuck with it on a cruise. Even if you haven't, I'd love some expert opinions on my plan! Here it is:

I have two back-to-back days of rather strenuous itineraries planned. I thought of doing an MD on the first one (it would be a UD), and making the second one a UD. My goal is to drink Atkins shakes on my DD's for breakfast and/or lunch, and then have a shrimp cocktail and salad with dressing on the side at dinner. On my UD's, I will eat whatever I want but in moderation (ex. a bite of my husband's sinful desserthttp://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/im...yummy_2011.gif ). My goal is to focus on eating as little as I can on DD's and drinking lots of water and NOT GAINING WEIGHT! I've done LC on cruises before, so I'm sure JUDDD will be a breeze! I'm so excited about it already!

Thanks for any feedback you can give!

It shouldn’t be a problem. JUDDD is extremely flexible. I’m not sure how often you travel, but if this cruise is like a once a year or less often thing, I say enjoy and jump back into rotations when you return.

I don’t usually travel more than once a year and for only 5 days or so when I do, so I usually take a break from JUDDD and fast till dinner and then enjoy myself.

Thanks so much, Carly! Right now my plan is to try to stick with it....but give myself some grace! I want to enjoy myself, but I don't want the cruise too be about the food!!

Ironically, I just got back from a cruise. I had come back to JUDDD (yet again!) before going and thanks to the challenge thread had three weeks under my belt, so to speak . By choice opted to enjoy the vacation and relax the schedule. Which turned out to be no schedule at all.

Today is my first day back on plan and I will probably wait until Saturday - after three solid DD's - to weigh in.

I'm with Carly. It's only a few days and get right back to rotating when you get home. It's a cruise - enjoy!

Okay, I vote that from now on, we refer to periods of festival eating (whether holiday weeks/weekends or just one of those weekends/weeks) as "going on a cruise."

As in, for imaginary example: "Hi Ladies! I've been on a wonderful cruise the past week, but today I'm starting up rotations again!" Isn't that so much nicer that "OMG I fell off the wagon big time and want to smack myself upside the head for it." ???

Hahaha! I could just use wanting to have "periods of festival eating" as motivation to go on more actual cruises....not that I NEED more motivation!!

Love this. I’m going on a two week ‘cruise’ for Xmas. I’m literally on vacation in the US with my family for two weeks. My sister has a treadmill, so I’m thinking I could get some regular exercise at least.
