I had never heard of this appliance before, but you've got me interested (and those pictures were a BIG help!) Thank you for posting this.

OMG I'm so sorry I didn't check back to this thread LOL I used it to make hamburgers and I thought it was pretty good. The basket is a bit small so I could only fit 2 burgers. My husband didn't like the way the burgers came out but I liked it. Also, I made sweet potato fries and they were so so. I'm going to try out some other things when I'm off from work next week.

I have an Ivation which is basically the same as a Gowise. I researched a lot on these before buying. Apparently there is a lot of cobranding in the sense one manufacturer in China will make the same model for different companies. With that being said mine is the same as the GoWise 22621 fourth generation. I downloaded the recipe book as well. Unfortunately I can't get many brands here in Canada as they won't ship here hence the major research I did.....
This machine is AWESOME! I have made fried pickles, scotch eggs, chicken wings, coconut shrimp and of course fries. I bread everything with a mixture of pork rinds and Parmesan cheese. My husband the non low carber makes shoestring french fries in it and he says they are just like McDonald's.
I am excited to try all sorts of things with it as it has earned a permanent spot on my counteŕtop!

What size is yours, shipoo? I see on Amazon there is a 3.7 and a 5.8.

Mine is a 3.7 but there is only 2 of us in the house and my husband is a big meat eater so it suits us. If you have a family I suggest a larger one. There is a Facebook group and you can pick up good tips from them as well. A lot of the women and men on it have 2 air fryers and use them 6 days a week! I actually ordered a 9.5 one with a rotisserie and basket it in for my other one lol. Just waiting for it!

I am interested too! There is a gal in one of my FB groups who posted about a more expensive model, and I am trying to determine whether to go with the spendier one, or something a little cheaper.

I have the Large Phillips. I recently used a cheaper brand - also large size - at my elderly mother's house, and it was pretty crappy.

My "crispy" chicken wings refused to get done - even after adding at least twice the cooking time. (The Phillips does this in ~25 min. They never did get cooked all the way - part was burnt and part was still under - I dont think this particular model circulated the air very well.

Unfortunately I dont recall the brand but given that she is addicted to the shopping channels it likely came from HLN or the other one.

Thanks Mike. Maybe I will hold out for the Phillips. There is a $79 one at Walmart that has hundreds of great reviews.

Not at all - its great. Havent used it much this summer - I rediscovered cast iron pans after learning how to season them on Youtube and am off on that trip.

So far, my 2 favorite things in the air fryer are the wings and individual meatloafs. (Cant have potatoes, of course.)

Mike

I tried the one from Walmart last year and returned it. It does not perform as well as Phillips IMO.

QVC has a Cooks essential brand today for the todays special value--99 dollars. what they have shown today looks good--I am in the same camp of having too many gadgets-put I am thinking the Nuwave will have to go! I never did much with it except for frozen steaks which was wonderful until my store quit carrying them.

Looking forward to trying this--I agree it is so much better than the mess of the deep fryer.

Cooks Essentials air fryer

Well, I, too, sprung for the QVC offer after reading up and watching the demos and reviews. It really does look good, although I'm a little unsure of the pre-programmed settings. How does the fryer know how much chicken I put in and how long to cook it? Hmmmm.
I've avoided the urge to buy a NuWave, Phillips, etc., for several years, but it looks like there's been much improvement made and I'm really excited to try it - especially at the $99 price.
Anyone else out there have one?

Hi,
Can you share your recipe for fried pickles?

I just got my air fryer today and want to test it out. I don't have a lot of time, but I've always wanted to try fried pickles.

I was just given a Power Air Fryer (the XL one) and so far only made wings but oh MY!!!! They came out so so crispy! I wasn't expecting them to come out so good! (I wasn't even expecting the machine... never heard of these before!!) I can't wait to try more things out! Unfortunately all the recipes that came with it are carby... but I will tweak things!

I just made a very soggy batch of wings in the oven and was so frustrated when I had to throw them in the deep fryer, doubling the calories I planned for dinner! Luckily I had them to spare, but I wanted some ice cream for dessert. :-(

I'm so tempted to hop on Amazon and buy one of these right now.

The Phillips Air Fryer is much cheaper now than when I bought it. The small one is now $159. Plus You can download a 20% off coupon from Bed Bath and Beyond. So worth it. I use mine all the time. It has a permanent place on my countertop.

Nigel, I just got a Big Boss Oiless Fryer (free from my daugher) and I plan to try out this recipe for fried pickles. The instructions were for pan frying, and recommended putting the breaded pickles in the freezer for ten minutes before frying. If you try it in the air fryer, I'd love to know how they come out!

Atkins Diet Recipes: Low Carb Fried Pickles

2 Eggs
1 1/2 cup Pickles
1/4 cup Coconut flour
1 Dash Salt/pepper
1 tsp Taco seasoning
Oils & Vinegars
1/4 cup Oil
1/2 cup Heavy cream
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
2 tbsp Water
