the robe, i am happy to say...

is no longer on the premises. y'all may remember the denim shorts that had finally fit me to the degree that I could wear them outside the building. that was about a year ago, I think longer than that. whereas all my pants got bigger...these did not. however, I did have them washed, so perhaps they shrank/or shrunk. I am sitting down at the moment, and my blood circulation is NOT restricted. as a matter of fact, they are quite comfy. so, I am happy. perhaps, by June 2018, they will be really loose. in any case, it is a reason to rejoice. it will still be in the 70s through Wed. the weather will improve by Thurs, when the highs will be in the 60s. Today we took a road trip, mutt too, to a state park the old man and Thing 1 are fishing at next week. Wore the dog out, he's snoozing in the truck at the moment, in the a/c of course, me and Thing 2 too. It's hot out Today!

Food has been 2 fried eggs and I'm getting hangry, they'd better hurry up.

My weekend was also no where near the wagon. Each day started out great, then things happen. I don't have the strict willpower like I use to. Maybe because I KNOW that I can get back straight. Saturday was a new steak place, sirloin, asparagus, lettuce wedge with bacon, cheese, onion, ranch. It was munching on the herds appetizer sampler. Sunday was White Castle after the state park.

Today is ham and cheese, spinach lasagna if I get the urge to make it.

ok.. so can I ask weird food questions here or is there a better thread to ask.... ....
I am determined to eat low carb right this time.

thanks!!

I have a small turkey, with spagetti squash ( from my garden ) in.
I had a plated of roasted ptoatoes for my family.. and I was going to have 1/2 c of roasted carrots. ... I just asked on a FB page... ad got told no carrots... ok.. fine..
but also told no snow peas... I had a few at lunch.. thi is my confusion... 1/2 c of snow peas ( I think I had a1/3 c ) had 3 carb... and 1 fiber... so I honestly.. didnt think it was that bad. ....
am I wrong...

i have NO willpower...never did.

fortunately, my plan (ATKINS phase 1)requires none. it is quite an epicurean way of eating...AND I can wear those denim shorts again. however, even ATKINS cannot work miracles with the weather. still hot and humid here. Love & Profits: FLAT(always reading labels)FERENGHI

Need to catch up on last couple of days. Did not tell you all this but I had the pins and wires removed from the knee cap I broke last Feb. on Friday. I did not miss any work.

ouch, Abi...i hope pain is history for you.

I had a total knee replacement in 2002. it was a textbook case, and post surgical pain was much less than expected, especially because I refused almost all the percosets they offered me. it feels like LA in here. I could use a blizzard about now (not the one from DAIRY QUEEN, but they ARE yummy). I am remembering the 1st attempt at cooking when I moved in here in Dec 1977. I had minimal cooking skills. I tried doing a small turkey. the results were... well, I had to order a pizza. suffice it to say..it was a MURKY TURKEY. I am better now. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

not roasting, abi...but stewing.

good times ARE coming, I tell myself. once the kitchen cools off, I will be making the debut performance of the xl copper chef pan with the induction cooker. I have a thick porterhouse impatiently waiting in the freezer. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

morning all.
I think I am doing well with my carbs
I am making sure I get out for at least 30 min of walking daily.

the bathroom breaks can slow down.lol. lots of peeing. but that is due to drinking lots of water. I am sure it will even out.
I need to adjust the amount of veggies and berrys I am buying.. my kids are making lots of smoothies....lol. I am doing berries for a evening snack.... I know I need to cut it out... but I am staying under 50 carbs.. so .. not stressing it to much.
I just need to find a alternate to it int he evenings.
Hubby munches inthe evenings... and its hard not to as well......

Good morning! I had to turn on the portable heater in my office, the whole building is cold.

The new jeans I just bought, I tried them on in the store, a tad snug but I wasn't worried. They were no where near looking like I was trying to stuff 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound sack! After wearing them all day, I can take them off without unzipping. Yep, should have got the smaller size!

Beef stick from the Amish store, turkey and cheese, and leftover spinach lasagna is today's menu.

The loaded baked cauliflower was greasy, too much cheap cheddar cheese. I still ate it. I forgot to thaw the lasagna I froze, I'll have it tomorrow.

First frost of the season, goodbye annoying mosquitoes!

Late breakfast of sausage links. Lunch will be leftover loaded baked cauliflower. Dinner will be spinach lasagna.

Boring day at work, not complaining though, I'm just sitting here with my left boot off. They're new and the left is annoying my baby toe!

My positive of the day is that I am starting to figure out when I actually need food.. and when I am just bored..
little steps.

breakfast was bacon ( 1/3 lb) 1 roma tomtoe. ad a equal amount of cucumber. 1 tbsp of cream cheese.

now off to a high energy day.
its a day off school here.. and it is a busy one.

I DID IT!

I had my beard removed this a.m, AND a haircut too. this barber shop is open 7 days a week, at 7:30 a.m. till 6 pm. I feel 10 years younger, and 10 lbs lighter. I believe I WILL have the porterhouse tonight. now I will enjoy an iced coffee. it is still warm inside and out. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Rye and pumpernickel bread from them on Thurs. and got it the next day!

Gigi, wish I could also figure out when I am hungry or bored too

Can't wait to get the staples out of me knee mon.

I always get my orders in 2 days, unless I order on the weekend. Today's order was bread, bagels, tortillas, crackers, sunbutter, black soy beans, I'm pretty sure something else too that I can't remember. Salsa!

abi!!!...congrats on getting the screws/pins out...now i would use the screws for something useful around the house...hahaha...i wish i didn't believe you went to work - that's exactly what i would have done - you are crazy like me about stuff like that...

ff, you need to move to new england...it's cooler here and almost always cools off at night, even in summer...

gigi, it's great to be low low carb when you are motivated to do that, but allowing yourself healthy veggies high in fiber and nutrients is not much of a transgression...especially if it keeps you on track, in general...my advice is to make a plan you can sustain and live with...

chris, i keep meaning to order stuff from netrition, but don't think i've done it yet...love meatloaf...congrats on the loose clothes!

refinancing the house and cottage and that is a lot more work than i was anticipating...one appraiser comes to our nh house on wednesday, so we are trying to spruce up a few things, but there are going to be things we can't get to...the house is okay, but is showing the wear and tear of being home to 5 kids for 31 years, not to mention the last few years of grandkids... there are some things that need to be replaced, like a few rotten outside window sills, etc...oh well, it is what it is!

eating pretty well, but mostly maintaining my weight...drove to boston to have lunch with sarah yesterday which was a treat!...went to the outback steakhouse and we each had a nice salad with grilled chicken...she leaves for london on wednesday for two weeks...

more work tomorrow...miss my babies, but emmy's friend is visiting them so i won't see them...we may go out there to trick-or-treat with them on monday...

what's everyone else up to?

NEW ENGLAND is lovely, especially this time of year.

BUT, I was thinking closer to the arctic OR Antarctic circle. well, maybe in my next life. as it happens, it was NOT a porterhouse evening. after my late afternoon snooze (you know we old folks need our daytime downtime), I had no appetite for major meals. so, I opened a 5 oz can of tuna (chicken of the sea) and mixed it with a small salad, and a forkful of REAL mayonnaise. Today, I will order in enough Chinese food to last me through tomorrow. I wanted to go out today, but we are having major wind and rain. it should be over by tomorrow afternoon. When I do my trick or treating, I will tell the people-No candy, please. I am on ATKINS. Perhaps, you have a porterhouse, or a few center cut pork chops you can drop in the bag! I FORGOT TO MENTION...

I will be doing an experiment. I will add 1 tsp(pulpless)oj to a 20 oz bottle of plain seltzer water. all I need is a whisper of orange flavor. net carb grams is 0.524. also, there will be no artificial ingredients. it will be EVEN MORE REFRESHING in the warm weather. of course, one can do this with any juice, but I will start with orange. yet more revelations.

I just discovered that Ocean Spray makes a "diet" cranberry juice; 5 calories (who cares?), and 2 gr of carb per 8 fl oz. of course, I will probably add 1/4 cup to water or seltzer. so many possibilities. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI
