Happy Tuesday!

What a stressful day at work. It took every bit of me to stay away from the M&M's in the vending machine. I am convinced they were calling out to me.
Nonetheless, I did not answer the call.

I have a couple of questions I hope you guys can answer that have been on the plan for awhile.

1. What is up with my stomach? I left work 30 minutes early today because I could not stop going to the bathroom after lunch. My boss was so worried about me. It was embarrassing! But, seriously, why do I feel like I have a stomach virus when I don't? Meaning, why do I feel like my body is trying to empty itself of everything I have ever ate?
2. Do you think it is possible to hold on to weight if you do not eat enough?

The reason I ask is because the last 2 days I have tried to only eat 2 meals and go from 6pm to 6am without eating. But, both days I have taken back a few lost ounces.

I am just wondering if my body thinks I am starving it.

Anyway, all input is welcome.

Google up some info on "KETO Flu" and see if your symptoms fit. An actual BUG isn't impossible....but I think you'll find its gone pretty quickly.

I wouldn't change anything, if I were you.

Super hungry today. Snacked at work before coming home (Moon Cheese). Made a chicken broccoli "rice" bake. YUM

I'm so troubled by some of my sweet students in my Advanced classes. Some just DON'T need to be there and should be in the regular class. They are SO hard working and I'm so proud of them but I hate to see them feeling like failures. One boy in particular is literally failing. His mom insists he stay in advanced math. We have a meeting tomorrow with the principal, math facilitator and counselor. UGH! Regular math is tough enough for most kids.

GG, do you mean #1 or #2? I pee a lot those first days. But I also get constipated and have to take stool softeners every other day. Of course you could have a tummy virus or some sort of food poisoning. Its good its coming out and not making you sick instead. Yes, if you are not in ketosis, your body will start to hand on to fat if you don't eat enough but it takes a few days. My suggestion is drink lots of water. Analyze what you've eaten lately to see if maybe your body doesn't agree with a new food. I would just be saying, "yay! more pounds lost!"

Gregsgirl, it sounds like the keto flu to me too. But also, you are past the honeymoon phase of all that water weight drop. It's just an adjustment. You'll feel better soon!

Stan, you know how I like to make my omelettes? I chop a BUNCH of pepperoni and sautee them in butter in the skillet until they are nice and curly. Then I scramble 3 eggs and dump them on top. OMG. Of course I top with shredded cheese. It is NOT a bland omelette! It's like eating pizza eggs!

My supper was so badddd, that it left me in a poor mood. Food should NOT do that!

I have some KETO bloodwork (Not a real term) scheduled for Monday, so I'm adjusting my Fast 48 somehow to work around that. Not sure yet. Terri, I just may join you with today and tomorrow, then just do a normal overnight fast before my appointment Monday @ 9.

Funny, the scheduler asked me if I would have difficulty fasting for 8 hours. ... EIGHT measly hours.....

GG...I agree with what Stan said. I eat just OMAD (most of the time) and I lose (when I stick to it, that is). I have never believed that you can eat too little.....BUT you definitely can drink too little water. That's a battle I fight daily....and it's why I drink only de-caf tea/coffee. I'm fortunate that I never get the "KETO Flu," but many people do. Check it out. If that's what it is, it should be gone pretty soon.

Indeed, you can put yourself in sortof a starvation type mode, but so what? You're still gonna burn whatever fat is available! (It's just incorrect to think otherwise...and I used to worry about it.)

You said it very well Holly, and please stop losing so much weight EVERY SINGLE STEENKING DAY!!!! You're making me dizzy watching the numbers spin so fast, I'm gonna get nauseous.

... but alas....Factually Fraudulent. It sure was a number exciting to see, but I started my Fast 48 Tuesday evening @ 8:30...working around some scheduled blood tests. So 'taint gonna stick past tomorrow.

Speaking of blood work, Michael is having some tests done today. I'm nervous his doc is gonna see an elevated Cholesterol level and try to talk him into a statin.

See, I sent him some info.

I think he's ready for the onslaught of orthodox pharmaceutical silliness that most docs spew, if he happens to be concentrating at that critical moment. He's supposed fly his doc the Naughty Finger at the suggestion of meds, but his memory is poor, and his Naughty Finger is only 2 fingers away from his THUMBS UP Sign....and a TOTALLY different outcome.

You can see from his thumbnail, he likes his Thumbs Up Signal pretty good, so its gonna be a REAL nail biter.

I wish I could go with him to his appointment.... buuuuuut that'd just be a little too weird, I guess.

Focus, Michael. Focus!!

I don't know how I got so far behind in my work. But maybe I can check up on you peeps again later.

Bought some new running shoes yesterday in preparation for my 5K training starting in November. They look HUGE, but they fit my feet well and are comfortable.

Stan, I started my Fast 48 on Tuesday (noon) as well, but here's what MY body had to say about it:



I will break the fast at noon today. Gotta keep going. Yeah, obviously, If I want to lose, it looks like my calories have to consistently be under 1000 per day. I swear, I will NEVER starve to death.

Lovin' that week one plummet the scale always takes when switching to LC eating. Makes a gal feel speacial first thing in the morn, I tell ya. This is a good week to switch over, as I have my yearly physical next Thursday and DO NOT want to weigh more than I did last year.

I'm down at least 60 pounds from where I started, but I stopped making any progress a couple of years ago. Years, I say. I get down to 240 and then mosey on back up to 270 and then back down again. It's a lot of work to stay the same.

Also, my kids are on fall break from school this week. I'm terrible at counting points/calories when my kids are all home. I have rarely lost a flippin' pound in the summer.

Yesterday was a good day. Lots of cream in my coffee, scrambled eggs, salad with steak and ranch, some jello, and a greasy burger to end the day. I always eat a lot the first day...makes it easier.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everybody. It's nice to see so many active members in this area. I look forward to getting to know you. I'm excited to see those numbers drop everyday.

If I can just keep from talking myself out of doing LC...
