grape tomatoes--can they be frozen?

I have an abundance of grape and cherry tomatoes from the garden this year. I hate to throw these out, some of them are going bad already. Can I just freeze these as is or do I have to fry them up and season them and then freeze them... My kitchen is under construction, I could fry them up if I had to, but I would rather just get them into the freezer asap! Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have about 5 cookie sheets full!

Just freeze them.
When you go to use them just use like they are almost fresh. In soup, sauce, and lots of foods. You have limit space do what you have to.

Some will say blanch them, then freeze. Some will say roast then freeze, this is so delish . But you only have so much room.

I'm at the end of my garden and still have many green tomatos. Brussel sprout to freeze and beets to can.

Hi That Girl

You can freeze them whole, to be used in soups and stews etc. They will be like canned tomatoes when thawed. If you have use of an oven you could roast them with some olive oil and garlic till they start to brown. They are freaking delicious!

My celery tends to go bad before I use it all, has anyone had luck with chopping and freezing for soups, etc ?

I buy ground beef in bulk and bag it up with chopped onion and celery. It is fine.

You can also do it for bell peppers and onions too.

i very rarely buy celery because it went limp all the time.

and celery, is one of my faves. what i did to salvage some of the limp celery, was dice it into tuna or egg or chicken salad. Not perfect, but at least it did not all go into the garbage. I was on induction then. Now that i "graduated" to OWL, I can eat more veggies, so less gets TOSSED (pun intended). Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

I freeze my Juliet and cherry tomatoes whole all the time. When I take them out of the freezer and thaw them, the skins just slip right off.

I put them into soup or dishes that call for chopped tomatoes, or I cook them down into sauce with some onion and garlic and olive oil and basil. All this is so much fresher tasting than using canned tomatoes.
