Keto.. Atkins.. Same diet different marketing?
I've been out of the loop for years now. I apologize if this question has been asked over and over. I did use the search function, and only found talks about the Keto Diet 2018. I confess I skimmed and did not read the entire thread.
Each site I read about the Keto Diet I can't not say, "It's Atkins..."
So either I was doing the Keto Diet and didn't know it before.. or it's Atkins just with a different name?
I could care less about a "team atkins" or "team keto diet"
I just want to make sure I'm not missing something that could benefit my HBP, and currently 2 lower abdominal aneurysms that are 2.7 in cm on my last CT.
I know Atkins helps lower blood pressure. But is there some specialty in the Keto diet that would be safer, better, faster, etc. etc.
The Keto diet , on one site, said you get your body in a state of ketosis to start... and you know the rest. To myself, again, I said "Well that's what I did during induction on Atkins..." I THOUGHT
Thanks for any edumacation, I need it while I get started with this Atkins again.

Keto tends to lean towards more fats than Atkins (Atkins ran around 50% fat with more protein; keto is 75-80% fat and less protein).
From what I've read, that's the major difference really shortened.
