decided to stay in today, AGAIN.

I need to broil my salmon filet before it is past its prime. Chris- I am curious. did "Thing #1" lose the 20 lbs because he is young and active, or because he was following a specific weight loss plan, or both? and now back to moi meme, my fave topic of discussion(2nd only to latinum and oomox). in addition to the salmon, I will be enjoying my snooze du jour, Count John McCormack, on Utube, and my once yearly corned beef and cabbage. tomorrow, I will do SHOPRITE in the a.m., and Sunday a.m.-THE BAKERY. ERIN GO BRAGH! Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

FF, when wrestling season started, he was over the weight limit of 285, he was 308. I would have never guess he was that, he doesn't look it. He worked out at practice, cut out snacking, and reduced his milk intake by a lot. He could easily drink a gallon a day. He also switched from regular to unleaded on the pop and sports drinks, that right there save a ton of carbs! He didn't count carbs or calories, just didn't have 2nd helpings as much. Now it's baseball season, so he's still staying on track. I'm proud of him, if only the other kid would make an effort.

Weigh Day at work, down 3.8 pounds, unfortunately is only 1.25%, but it's a start. Someone lost almost 7 pounds, I see my @$$ getting kicked on this challenge!

Beauty & the Beast was awesome!! It had the same songs as the cartoon, 3 or 4 new ones. I may go see it again!

Remy my mouse has migrated into the front room, kitty was on his tail, that cat had better step it up and earn his keep!

Only a half day at work today, I'm taking the afternoon off. No reason other than needing to finish up my gun permit renewal and can never make it to the sheriff's office.

Breakfast will be sausage and cheese in a bit, I'm running late this morning and just now took the thyroid pill, so I'll have to wait a bit. No clue for lunch, I may treat myself while out and hit the Mexican restaurant. Or just save money and make it myself. Dinner, also clueless, anything I don't have to cook works for me!

Attention ff -

I am over the moon after trying your suggestion about Chia seeds. It has been over a week, and I have zero cravings - unheard of in my world. Thanks so much.

you are so welcome, Oceans.

feel free to flow in our direction as often as you can. Chris, I am so impressed with Thing #1's accomplishments. Don't worry too much about Thing #2 at this time. One day, he will develop a crush on some girl. That will give him the impetus. it happened to me. I pushed myself mercilessly. I lost the weight, and the girl. I was not very hungry today. I got the cb and cabbage. tasted some, and put it away for tomorrow. I have 1 lc cookie remaining, which I will have with my chocolate infused coffee later. earlier today, I had yesterday's ribs with mustard. throughout the day I had 1 ATKINS ADVANTAGE BAR, each one divided into 4 segments. I am leaving 1 whole one, for last. I will eat that one the way Mr. Pitt eats his Snickers bars-with a knife and fork. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

grilled chicken and steak tips...you're gonna laugh, but i made 12 lbs. of tips and 6 lbs. of chicken breasts - everyone ate a lot but we have a lot leftover!

tomorrow, it's dinner in ri so my siblings can meet him...

hope everyone has a great weekend!

Tony, glad you are doing some fun stuff for a couple of days! Happy everyone likes Sarah's boyfriend from England! Enjoy yourself today!

Oceans, FF has been saying the chia seeds were calming his appetite. I will have to give them a try!

DH is bringing home subs for dinner so I made one of the one egg, one oz cream cheese wraps and then made a one egg, 2 tablespoons of mayo one. It really puffed up and then when it collapsed it was still thicker than the regular one. It sort of cracked but only on one side so may hold together with sub fixings in it. I wanted to try the flavor so trimmed off an edge and really liked it. I am a mayo lover anyway.

can one lose weight by listening to opera?

and sitting in one's easy chair no less! YES, if it Rossini's William Tell it is! it began at 1:00pm and ended at 5:23pm it was from earlier this season. this is the 1st time I have heard it all the way through. it was a revelation. next week the Met will be doing Mozart's Idomeneo, Re di Creta (Idomeneus, King of Crete). I have a personal connection here, as I was privileged to sit on his throne for about 15 seconds, until a security guard threatened me with a severe beating, if I did not get my derriere off of it. true story-no punchline here. this took place late August 1971. Last evening, I was not hungry, but the diner does not offer cb/cabbage on a regular basis. so I had a taste, and finished it this a.m. after reheating it. I will have the chicken broth later. I also had some of the salami and muenster cheese, and 1 ATKINS ADVANTAGE BAR (4 qtr bar pieces). gosh, I was hungry! altogether(as I consumed only 1/2 the cabbage wedge), I consumed 7 net gr of carb. to be on the safe side, I will round up to 10. I had one large coffee (1/2 of my large mug)with 1 tsp heavy cream. I have been nursing all day long a 17 oz bottle of a sparkling water called SPARKLING ICE. zero everything incl sodium. Now, it does say 3% FRUIT JUICE. but that amount is so negligible, that they are allowed to claim zero carb, and zero calories. as I already claimed 10 net carbs so far, it is not necessary to add one for this. I must be cautious about this product, as far as daily amounts go. they are delicious. there is a coconut/pineapple flavored one that would be great with rum added. but, not yet. And now, I must ask you, Tony, what is meant by FAMILY STYLE roast chicken? are FOGHORN LEGHORN & MISS PRISSY & THEIR CHICKS served together on 1 platter? I will broil my salmon filet later. all the calories from this morning are finally kicking in. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Hello all. Going to try and catch up on all I've missed tonight and tomorrow.
Has been hectic lately. DS started soccer, car shopping and the lovely colonoscopy, has kept me busy. Was on track, but the 32 hour medical fast, clean out and day after stupidity, I made BAD eating choices. I blame the seditatives..Oh and TOM...Lol. Anyways this week is back to strict induction. Sugar cravings were starting up and I don't need that in my life. I bumped up on the scales, and not sure how much is just water weight.
DS scored a goal in his first game. It was for the other team. He is four though, and the other teams net was their practice net..So there's that.
OK going to go back and catch up.

it aint easy for me either, Grace.

even with the chia seeds, I am still prey to temptation. I want so much to be perfect 24/7, but sometimes I just want the off-plan eats. with the DMII, and the need to get below 200 for the operation, that is not an option. so, sometimes, I need to allow myself a few extra carb grams. better than to endulge in a full blown binge, out of which it would take me months to get back on the wagon. try keeping some lc alternatives in your purse, like an ATKINS BAR, or 2 if necessary, and some zero to lc eats you can grab as soon as you get home. Lynne, you brought back a memory of one my grandchildren's first soccer games when they also made a goal for the other team. lol Fortunately they don't let it stress them very much.

Have you ever made Linda Sue's english muffin variation with golden flax? Not bad. http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/lc_english_muffin2.html

FF, you can tell you have really studied human nature when it comes to binging. All your suggestions make a lot of sense!

What a crap @$$ day! First it's a Monday, enough said right? It's spring break for the kids, I'm jealous. Thunderstorms all day so far, perfect day to play hookie. I left 10 minutes early with the intent of hitting a coffee bar I've never been to, only to see the old man left the window down. I had a thick towel folded over a few times and STILL ended up with a wet @$$cheek. Then even with the thunder and lightning, it was ice and sleet and about 2" of slush on the highway and very slick. I didn't have time for the coffee bar. When I saw the window down, I should have just said poop on it and called in sick!!

Yesterday I did nothing except a few loads of laundry and watch March Madness. My bracket has been destroyed with all of the upsets. Oh well, that's what I get since I won last year.

Saturday I went to Mom and Dad's for her birthday, 75th. My sister made the cupcakes pictured below. Her birthday is officially tomorrow.

Food today, sausage and a bagel with cream cheese, jalapeno chicken, burgers.

Saturday my sister had her hubby hit the meat market. I have 9#s ground beef, 3#s of sliced ham, and 4#s of Eckridge pepperoni and mozzarella smoked sausage links. All for only a few cents shy of $20. The smoked sausage I couldn't find anywhere on the net for a carb count. And the ham, after eating a huge thick slice I decided to look at the carb count, it was sooo gooood. No wonder, 30 carbs for a 3 ounce serving. Crap!!

And I've been slacking on here so gotta go read everyone's posts now!

Abi, Charlotte is too freaking cute! And I'm gonna try those wraps.

FF, I told a coworker about your chia seed brag on appetite control, she's gonna try them.

And I'm giggling at the soccer, I love watching little kids play any sport!

I do have some sad news to share, Remy died. And when I saw how fat he was, no wonder he didn't stick to the tape trap things!

hi guys!

abs, charlotte is so adorable!..omg!...we had the girls here today and we are on call when emmy goes into labor...she is due on the 27th, but thinks she will go sooner...ama is trying to talk her baby brother out of there because she knows she will be staying here...too funny!

awww, chris...what was remy's cause of death?

ff, family style is that the restaurant brings out big platters and bowls of roast chicken, potatoes, pasta and salad and you pass it around and take what you want...at this place, when a platter or bowl is empty, they refill it as many times as you want them to...

lynne, how was the colonoscopy...i've never had one and am waaaaaaay overdue!

Tony, i keep a wide berth from any "all you can eat" places.

that is a death trap for anyone with a history of binging, like me. HAPPY BEGINNING OF SPRING to those of you who like it hot. I will smile again on Dec. 20. I overdid it in the sleeping dept. I closed my eyes briefly after JEOPARDY, and awoke at 9:07 pm, thoroughly refreshed. then I became aware that something was wrong. I slept through SUPERGIRL! oh no!!! perhaps I may be able to catch it on youtube, or re-runs. this is catastrophic!!! but, at least I stayed within my 20 net grams of carbs. I'm pretty sure Remy's C.O.D. was a broken back or neck. I wasn't touching the trap!

And my sister made those cupcakes, I have no talent. Unless sarcasm and drinking coffee count?

Sausage and cheese for breakfast, maybe on a bagel. Cheeseburger for lunch. Jalapeno chicken for dinner.

I stopped at the Amish store for sliced cheese. Four kinds later I figured I'd better stop ordering. Mini colby was on sale, gotta have mozzarella, Dad was talking about butter cheese this weekend, and last was a Havarti chipotle. A little over 3# for $15. That place does have good cheese sales, I just can't afford anything else there. Frog legs were on sale last time but they were out.

I guess I'd better get ready for work. Have a good day.

Happy Wednesday! How is everyone's week going so far? Slow here.

I had the best coffee yesterday morning, I stopped at a coffee bar I never knew existed, and it's been there for 5 years. I'm stopping again this morning too, probably twice a week is all I can afford. Well, I can afford it, I just won't pay $2.50 a cup too often when it's free at work! I may buy a bag of beans when I find the perfect blend, it didn't taste burnt like Starbucks does, I quit theirs years ago. Yesterday was something Ethiopian, I'll try something different every trip. When I ordered, "May I have a very large coffee, black, surprise me on the blend." Anything but hazelnut, that's just flipping nasty!

Today's food, sausage, the jalapeno chicken since I didn't eat it yesterday, and no clue for dinner, probably a salad since the family is having Italian.

Enjoy your day!

hey chris, when you have time, can you share that jalapeno chicken recipe? - sounds yummy...do you eat frog legs?...i must have caught 10,000 frogs as a kid, but i'm not sure i could eat them...i did have alligator gumbo in memphis once so who knows?

ff, this was family style all-you-can-eat, but i love the buffets as well...none in our area right now...most are chinese - i usually go up twice and stick to the lower carb stuff, but they are dangerous!

waiting on my grandson to make his appearance...emmy was having contractions on monday and i have put all my clients on alert that i may need to cancel appointments at any moment...hahaha...

hope y'all have a great hump day!

Furnace on the blink, guy working on it right now. Crossing my fingers that he can fix it and we don't have to buy a new one!

Tony, we are so excited about the soon to be grandson! Those little girls are going to be so excited!

Chris, finding a delicious cup of coffee is worth the money!

FF, so sorry you missed this week's Supergirl. Hope you can find it on utube or somewhere else!

abs, i went through the same thing with my furnace earlier this winter...they thought there might be a crack in something and that would have meant a new furnace...ended up being good news - hope you get the same! :-)

You bet I eat frog legs. And gator too!

Ingredients

6 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast
salt and pepper to taste
For the Jalapeno Popper Layer
5 slices of bacon, diced
1/4 cup jalapeno slices, diced (the kind in the jar that you put on nachos)
1/4 cup diced onion
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup Kraft grated Parmesan
For the Topping
2 oz bag of Pork Skins, crushed
1/2 cup Kraft grated Parmesan Cheese
4 TBSP butter, melted

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place chicken breast in a 13×9 casserole dish and bake until juices run clear. 30-40 minutes, depending on the size of the breast. While chicken is baking, fry bacon pieces until crispy. Remove bacon and add onions and saute until tender. Remove from heat and add crispy bacon, onions, jalapenos, cream cheese, mayonnaise, cheddar and Parmesan cheese. Mix until well combined. Remove chicken from oven and reduce to 350 degrees. Spread jalapeno popper mixture all over each Chicken breast until well covered.

For the Crumb topping: mix together the crushed pork skins, Parmesan cheese and melted butter. Sprinkle on top of jalapeno popper topped chicken. Bake until the tops are lightly browned, about 15 minutes. ENJOY!!!

Well Tony, they will send the bill but it certainly will be less than a new furnace. Hoping to get some sleep tonight. I thought it was going to take off like a rocket last night. lol I think they replaced the fuel pump, some kind of nozzle, and a couple of other things.

Wow, Chris, that recipe sounds wonderful!

By the way, I take the easy way out, cut the chicken up and mix it all together, slap in a casserole dish and top with more cheese and bacon. I don't even bother with the topping mixture.

sorry about your diagnosis, Grace.

I am plagued by chronic IBS. it is minimized by staying on plan. I don't take anything for it. I see to it that there is a functioning facility wherever I may be. although I was hungry, I could not make up my mind what I wanted. now I know. I WANT PIZZA. so I am improvising with what I have in the house. lc toast, Victoria lc marinara sauce, jalapeno cheese melted, and my holy trinity of spices: garlic, oregano and pepperoncino, and chia seeds. gonna wash it all down with diet pepsi. Tony, are we a baby yet? hoping all is well. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI
