SFJello

I'm not reading too much about Jello. I bought some SF Jello at the store and am wondering if anybody does something exciting with it? TIA

WOE: moderate carbs
I had forgotten about it since I can't tolerate aspartame. But bought koolaid last summer for making my own sugar free jello. I stuffed it in the pantry and forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder! Sugar free jello with sugar free whipped cream will be a nice low carb treat!

I agree with cselzler that it's a great treat with SF whipped cream, but really, you can do anything with it that you can do with regular jello. Google for some ideas!

I don't think I have ever seen SF Whipped Cream in the store but I will surely look for it. Thank you for the suggestion. I'm also going to look up Kevin's Strawberry Jam. Thank you!

Well, not "exciting," but fun. I like to make the old-timey Knox Blocks, which I cut into small squares and pack in the cooler when I go to the beach for an awesome, refreshing snack. They don't have to be refigerated in order to stay solid, however. I just like them cold. If you want to add some protein for energy/substance, whip some cottage cheese with a little sweetener for a few seconds in the food processo with a drop of vanilla for a "dip."

When my kids were little, I made them all the time, and they and their friends would inhale a whole 9"x13" pan n a few minutes. They used to call them "finger jello." Just google it, and you should be able to find the recipe. It's easy peasy.

If you enjoy them, since you will blow through unflavored gelatin like it's going out of style, I'd recommend buying the big box of Knox gelatin, or buy a canister of plain beef gelatin, which you can find reasonably priced on Amazon.

Sounds good, Baricat!

Jeanne, Cool Whip makes a sugar free version but it has carbs. ??? I often use Reddi Whip which has 1 gm of sugar per 2 tbs.

At some stores I can find Land O Lakes sugar free whipped cream in the spray bottle. You can whip your own too.

One minute with a whisk and some cream and splenda and vanilla....instant sugar free whippped cream. I have a whisk attachment for my stick blender, but doing it by hand works too....and burns calories!

Easy Jello Fluff

Put 2 cups whipping cream in a mixer bowl. Sprinkle the dry jello powder on top and beat like mad. The jello flavors and sweetens the cream, and keeps it whipped. It keeps in the refrigerator for days.

We like to take SF jello, strawberry flavor, SF instant vanilla pudding, Then mix them both with water along w/ sliced strawberries. Chill til set and serve w/ a little whipped topping. It makes a rich, low calorie/low carb dessert..

I used to make something like this called orange dessert with orange gelatin and vanilla pudding. Had a graham cracker crust and of course lots of carbs since it used full sugar gelatin and pudding. I'll have to look up ingredients in the pudding to see if I can make up a sugar free non aspartame pudding mix.

This sounds good. I'm going to make some. YUM!!

You don't need any cream for this, just water, right?
How much water do you use?

Well, it doesn't take as much water as it does milk, so what I usually do is 2 small pkgs of s/f jello & 2 small pkgs of s/f pudding (cook & serve) and about 6 C of water mol and heat to a boil while stirring, pour it over a lb of sliced strawberries & chill. The lady who shared the recipe w/ me said it was an old weight watchers recipe.
