Thick it Up by Dixie USA at Netrition

Has anyone purchased this lately? I ask because I see that it's out of stock and no date given for when it will be bk in stock. Want to place an order at Netrition but hate to leave this 1 item out and pay another S & H when it becomes availiable. Surely it's still being made?? Any info?

Have you tried just Xanthum Gum, one of its ingredients?

I saw it on Amazon. Don't know why Netrition doesn't have it.

Carolyn's right. Amazon has it for $17.49, which is about $4 more than the price point at which Netrition carries it. If you have Amazon Prime, or know someone who does, you can get it sent second day air for free. Probably your best option. Even the Dixie Diner's Club website sells it at the same price as Amazon, and that doesn't include their shipping charges.

I contacted Netrition to ask if they have discontinued it or if it is just out of stock. I will post reply as soon as I get it.

Received this email from Netrition this morning

Hello,

Thank you for writing,

The Dixie Diner Thick It Up is temporarily out of stock. Unfortunately, when a
product is out of stock with an unknown expected date, we are at the mercy
of the manufacturer. At this time Dixie Diner has not provided a date when this
product will be available again.

I have arranged for you to receive an email once the product is back in stock.

We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

Thank you for making Netrition a part of your healthy lifestyle!

Best regards,
Tracy Chase

What about glucomannan? Netrition carries the original Konjac brand (1 lb. 19.99) or LC Foods brand (16.99 for 1 lb). It will last for a Very very long time. I bought the Konjac years ago and still have a Lot of it. If buying now, I'd get the lower priced LC Foods brand.

It doesn't work exactly the same way as the thick it up does. I prefer gluc for thickening sauces and such, but to help my yeast breads rise properly, neither glucomannan nor xanthan gum will work as well. I've tried them both.
