Update from yesterday, DS14's DD went really well. He came in right at 1000c. If nothing else, his eyes are open on how very much a lot of the things he was eating were HUGE on calories. He even told me he has come to realize (in just 2 days) that he doesn't need near as much to get full as he thought! I lay out his options and let him choose. On Up Days we will keep him as close to the 2000c point as possible. I will make sure he gets plenty of pizza tonight and his snack after dinner!

Hey, Zipp, that's great about your son. And amazing how just a day or two has already shown him some things about his eating.

My plan for today is STAY AWAY FROM THE BAGELS!!!. We always have bagels in the office on Friday mornings and if I start with a bagel (even on an UD) the whole day is downhill from there. Grrrrrr - I love bagels. I came prepared with an alternate breakfast.
B- smart ones breakfast sandwich (210) L - maybe yogurt and some sunflower seeds??? Trying to save a bunch of calories to have a decadent dinner TBD |

![]() TJ-- omg, I hear you. I used to work at a place in Montreal (land of the perfect bagel) where we had an official department rotation for bringing the bagels on fridays. then people would get creative and bake or bring other treats ![]() ![]() I do think that if you scoop the inside out of bagels and just use a hollowed out shell, you'd lose about 100 cals from the 300 total. Just a thought for the future Me today: B: 5 slices thick cut bacon L: 340g chili (equivalent to a wendy's large, and I followed the copy-cat recipe). 1 can v8. I need water and vitamins at this point. D: I've got some steaks thawing, and need some sort of veggie. I'll do chocolate, but go back to the dark, and not the easter/milk chocolate I've been chowing down on. I'm determined to get back to my low and BUST THROUGH it!!! S.

I love to hollow out my bagels but I still can't seem to control myself around them -- aargh. Stayed away from the bagels so far today but I did succumb to some baked goods that a vendor brought in. Oy - hazardous working conditions here. Spent 100+ calories on a piece of a chocolate croissant. It was heaven though.
Soren - your determination and good attitude is amazing. You never seem to whine though by my calculations you would be well within your rights! Good things have to happen for all us slow pokes eventually. I am starting to see some movement now using the DD-MD-UD rotation though it is very early days and I also started increasing my exercise at the same time so not sure what is working really. Only time will tell but I appear to be down 2-3 pounds in the last 6 days. That is more movement than I have seen in months so I am encouraged - and not whining for once. I am rooting for you! Idk if anyone has tried the Greek yogurt/cream cheese mixture? I bought some and it is delish! Half the calories of whipped cream cheese. I love it on toast with jam. Just saw the mention of bagel and made me think of cream cheese.

Monica, that is FABULOUS news on your son's first few days! I have my fingers & toes crossed hard for him!!!
Mmmmm bagels. I love bagels, too! The bagel thins aren't too bad. Anyone else tried them? At the moment, I have managed to stay away from any bagels since JUDDDing. I do have a freezer of them, though. I may <gasp> have to throw them out! TJ, awesome on your new strategy paying off already!!! WOOHOOO!!! Soren, you can and will do it girl! Alright, so far I'm at 592 cals. Just coffee w/ sf creamer this morning, but took DS1 out to lunch at Culvers and had a garden fresco salad w/ chicken. Raspberry vin dressing. Came home and had a small greek yogurt w/ raspberries. Leaves me a good 1200 calories for whatever pizza they want tonight. ![]()

Here's how I make my mock chicken salad:
1) get some roast chicken from the grocery. 2) open the container at home 3) point at it and LAUGH ![]() ![]() 4) add chopped celery, onion, and mayo, serve. Try not to choke as it will try to get back at you for the mocking. ![]()

Yup, everything bagel with either plain or garlic herb cream cheese. Between the garlic on the bagel, and the garlic cream cheese, I have to know I won't be kissing anyone when I have that one!
