What is your favorite bbq sauce?

I've tried a lot of recipes and a few have been ok, but what a waste of ingredients on others. So, I humble come to the low carb food people that I think are the smartest and best on the planet and ask for your favorite home made recipe. I've tried the bottled ones, some are better than others, but the splenda stands out in most of them. I'm looking for a sweeter recipe, we are from the midwest. We use to love Sweet Baby Ray's, although, I've never found a recipe that is like that, even the ones that say it's like Sweet Baby Ray's. Thank you so much in advance!
Editing to add, I'm not looking for a Sweet Baby Ray recipe, just a sweeter bbq sauce recipe that you use.

the only bbq sauce i use is WALDEN FARMS.

delish, but somewhat bland. so I enhance it with something hot, like chinese mustard, pepperoncino, or Frank's hot sauce. it works for me. someday, I will create my own, but until then its WF. btw they make 4 varieties now. i have hickory, and "thick and zesty" Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

nikkic--

My fave is G.Hughes brand. Sugar free/ Gluten free. Comes in several choices. I like the Hickory flavored one. I get mine at Walmart. Give it a try.

I always have this one in the fridge and it keeps a long time. It's sweet and very smoky.

MY FAVORITE BBQ SAUCE
6 ounce can tomato paste
1 1/2 cups water
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup granular Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda
2 teaspoons blackstrap molasses
2 tablespoons liquid smoke
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum

Combine the xanthan gum in a small bowl with all of the dry spices. Whisk everything together in a medium pot. Cover and simmer 30-60 minutes, whisking occasionally to keep it from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Cool, then pour into a glass pint canning jar and store in the refrigerator. It will keep for several weeks or more.

Makes 2 cups

With granular Splenda:
Per 2 tablespoons: 17 Calories; trace Fat; 1g Protein; 4g Carbohydrate; .5g Dietary Fiber; 3.5g Net Carbs
Per 1/4 cup: 34 Calories; trace Fat; 1g Protein; 8g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 7g Net Carbs

With liquid Splenda:
Per 2 tablespoons: 14 Calories; trace Fat; 1g Protein; 3g Carbohydrate; .5g Dietary Fiber; 2.5g Net Carbs
Per 1/4 cup: 28 Calories; trace Fat; 1g Protein; 6.5g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 5.5g Net Carbs

Thank you for the replies. I don't know what I was thinking or not thinking, LindaSue, I went to your site after I posted this and printed off that recipe. Charski, thank you for your recipe too. I'm going to try them both.

Aldi's is too far to drive to, to get theirs. I've tried G. Hughes and it's ok, but none of them are favorites. I love your posts and positive energy Flat, just not a fan of the WF's though, even with additions.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to everyone!

CHAR!!! You're here! It has been so long that I thought you got lost or waylaid somewhere between CA and CO.

So glad you're here! I missed you! And Merry Christmas to you and Mr. Char!

Cat!

Yeah, we ended up in Arizona! Well, that's where we were headed anyway....

FINALLY got proper internet service again last Friday. Then DH had to go get some wireless USB interfaces for our OLD computers which did not have wireless networking on them!

NOW I'm connected again!

How are YOU doing? Did you move?

Oops!!

I don't know why I had it stuck in my head that you were moving to CO. Encroaching old age.

No move yet. Long story. Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas in your new digs. And I'm really happy to see you back again!

My favorite is LindaSue's recipe above. Snice the first time I made it years ago, I've never looked any further. It's wonderful!

I tried them both and they are both very good. I think when I make LindaSue's again, I'm going to run the celery seeds through the coffee grinder. Also, I didn't have which ever gum was called for, so I used Thick It Up and that worked great. Thanks everyone
