New Kid On The Block :)

Hi everyone! I'm Melanie.
I'm new to LCF!

A little bit about my journey: I've been overweight my entire life...literally since infancy. I weighed 300+ in junior high school, 350 in high school, and have been going back and forth between 380 and 430 for the last 8 years. I recently found out that I am very insulin resistant, and I now feel the ill effects of eating sugars and carbs, and I no longer want to do this just to look better. Now it's really about my health and how I FEEL. I had some success with Atkins back in 2001/2002, but now with the whole insulin resistance business, low carb makes more sense for me than ever before.

I'm the creative type, I sing, play instruments, and love anything to do with the stage, but my weight has held me back and I can't wait to get back to doing what brings me the greatest joy!

My total weight loss goal is -249 pounds...I started Induction on 12/20/13 and am down 22 pounds as of this morning. WOOHOO!
I'll be staying on Induction for as long as I can stand it. lol
Wanted to say thank you to all of you for what you share and give.
Happy New Year!
