Hot Spice Tea (spiced russian tea) holiday spiced tea

Please feel free to tweek this and post alterations. I can't use aspartame or stevia. I wanted hot spice tea without any sweetener. It takes no time to add it. So here are two recipes plus the original (which would have aspartame in the ingredients you buy). I will say I like my tea spicier so feel free to tone it down.

Original unsweetened spiced tea
1/2 c decaf instant tea
3 orange koolaide packs
2 lemonade koolaide packs
1 tsp cloves
1 1/2 to 3/4 t cinnamon (depends on how much you like cinnamon)

Put everything together in a jar and shake. You'll use under a tsp per cup or more to adjust to your taste. Sweeten with the sweetener of your choice.

Stronger recipe unsweetened spiced tea with ginger

3/4 c decaf instant tea
6 orange koolaide packs
3 lemonade koolaide packs
2 t ground cloves
1 heaping T cinnamon
1T ginger

Put in jar and shake till mixed. Used under a tsp per cup (unless you like it really strong). Sweeten with sweetener of your choice.

Original Tang Hot Spiced Tea (most of the ingredients contain aspartame)

1 cup unsweetened instant tea with lemon
1 cup Sugar Free Tang
1 1/2 cups Splenda (measures like sugar)
2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
1 Tablespoon Cloves

Put in a container or jar. Shake to mix. Approximately 1 tsp per serving and the above makes about 64 servings.

Enjoy!

On the first two 1/2 tsp to 3/4 a tsp per 8 ounces seem about perfect.

My aunt made it every time it got cold. I was walking to the grocery store and something reminded me of it. It's really good.

Stats: Low carb for blood sugar control
I love Good Earth Sweet & Spicy caffeine free tea. It is made with rooibos instead of traditional tea, and has chamomile in it too. It has orange, cinnamon, cloves, etc. Sort of like an herbal version of Constant Comment. I have Interstitial Cystitis, and the rooibois tea seems to soothe my bladder when it is flaring.
