What is the best cheese you've ever had?

I'm on a quest!
I don't eat a lot of cheese, but I love extra sharp, aged, smelly, you name it -the stronger the better (except limburger, that makes me ill just smelling it lol).

My two favourites are local artisan cheeses

Harrogate Blue

https://deliciouslyorkshire.co.uk/ha...s-world-class/

And Charcoal Cheddar

http://www.thegreatbritishcharcuteri...coal-cheddar-2

A bit niche, but amazing if you can get hold of them .

Only trouble is, I only really like special cheese with crackers, so I very rarely eat it.

I love almost all cheeses. To fit the bill of extra-sharp I love Tillamook extra sharp cheddar. I am also a fan of blue cheeses. Gorgonzola is a one of my favorites, and Humboldt Fog cheese is fantastic!

extra sharp cheddar without a doubt!

for fresh cheese, I love Friendship 2 % cottage cheese, AND Friendship farmers cheese. the 2% has a nice tang to it that the full fat doesn't. gotta watch my portions, though. I can, and I HAVE eaten a whole 16 oz container all at once, on numerous occasions in the past. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Maytag is my favorite bleu cheese. For aged cheddar, I love Kerry Gold's dubliner and Trader Joe's has one, Unexpected Cheddar that has amazing flavor. I also love the French triple cream cheeses.

Publix sells a white cheddar canadian that is aged for over a year. It is strong and delicious. I also love Black Pepper Bellavtano. It is a Romano cheese and I love to make a chicken cobb salad and grate this cheese on it.

Dottie, do you have Trader Joe's? They have this awesome truffle brie that I just love!

Otherwise, love me some feta in my salads; the sharpest Tillamook cheddar I can find, if I can get their Reserve White I do but it's hard to find. Cabot's has an aged white cheddar that is very good, and the Dubliner is also, it's a grainier/flakier aged cheddar but really great taste on it.

I also love the bleus - Maytag is a nice one. LOVE gorgonzola on my burgers!

For cheddar, I'm another vote for Kerry Gold Dubliner. My British DH eats it almost daily as it's the best we can get in the USA.

Like you, I love sharp, aged, smelly cheese, so I also enjoy goat cheese (Aldi or Publix), feta, gorgonzola, shaved parm, Stilton, and provolone. When I want something mild and creamy, I use Monterey Jack.

Beemster 'classic' is my all time favorite. It is amazing. Beemster goat cheddar is pretty amazing as well. I love all cheeses particularly aged cheddar.

I prefer mild cheeses. I have not been very adventurous with cheese. I hate to buy something to try it and then find out I don't like it. My favorite seems to be Monterrey Jack. I know. Boooorrrrring. LOL

I tend to like the Brie type cheeses the best. Some are blue, others are not. Right now St. Andre, Camembert and Port Salut are my favorites. They're great off the knife out of the refrigerator, but warmed up to room temperature, *swoon*.

Aged White Cheddar
Cheddar & Monterey Jack by Kraft (block, of course)

I use all of these as a combination when making mac & cheese for the family still and for Cauli-Mac & cheese for me! LOL

The gruyeres and aged white cheddar can be found at Aldi's

Note: these are all block cheeses as I no longer use pre-shredded cheese. Wrap a band-aid around your index finger knuckle and shred on!!!

Once I learned to like horseradish on prime rib I now like it on EVERYTHING. LOL

I was watching videos about baked brie. I want to do that for a party one of these days.
