AND..IT IS..SO FAR!

let this be a weight loss behaviors success year as well. I decided to postpone the porterhouse till tomorrow after my clinic/bank/shoprite escapade. I am ordering a broiled salmon dinner, plus a separate a la carte portion of broiled salmon, plus ONE bacon cheddar cheese burger (bunless) with 1 thin slice each, of tomato and onion(most of the onion will be discarded). that will sit on 1 slice of low carb toast, the tomato subbing as the other slice of toast. that should take care of today's eating input. my internet is working fine. I took a chance, and removed one of the plugs, and then replugged. that seems to have fixed it. I don't know why. the connexion was not loose. but I thank the appropriate deity(deities). your local PBS station will be showing today's annual Vienna Johann Strauss concert, this evening. check your local listings. Abi, so happy DH is home and feeling better.

so far today, I had the chicken broth, and the aforementioned bacon cheddar burger, exactly as I described. i am still not hungry. later tonight, if needed, I will have some tuna/egg salad, or just tuna salad with some pork rinds. I hope to get to THE BAKERY by Wed or Thurs. well, Jeopardy is on in 19 minutes, and the VIENNA PHILHARMONIC at 9 pm EST on PBS. check your local listings. since Walter Cronkite died, it has been hosted by Julie Andrews. The old man's truck wouldn't start this morning. No jumper cables to be found, so he decides to push it with the Tahoe to get it started. Apparently that only works in the movies, the truck is in the neighbors drive now. He'll hit the auto store on the way home. Even the dog didn't want to go out this morning.

My only plan for today is laundry, I hope we've left enough water dripping so the pipes don't freeze.

i'm batting 1000, steak wise.

I am too tired even to reheat some food. so I ordered pork chops. I am not going to complain about today (complaints not weather related). however I AM most grateful to get back home alive. I believe I will be going to bed early. I will be home tomorrow, and Thursday. as much as I love the KRAFT extra sharp cheddar with the red foil, Borden has the exact same product, and same 8 oz pkge for $2.79. the Kraft is $4.99. in addition, I got an 8 oz pkge of Pepper Jack cheese, and an 8 oz pkge of Shoprite muenster. all of them are less than 1gram carb per oz. unexpectedly, there was a WF bottle of caramel syrup. I also got my L of L sugar free whipped cream, and an 8 oz container of Heavy Cream. also, a 2 litre bottle of Waist Watcher choc soda. no salami. I rest my case. I am going to enjoy the p.c.s. Howdy blitzers. We have been battling sub zero temps as I bet many of you are too. Fortunately, all vehicles have behaved and started, even John's whose vehicle sits outside! It has been -20 the past two mornings. It did get to 9 or 10 today, woo hoo.

I got a bit derailed over Christmas, but am back on track. I lost 0.2 lbs between the 15th of Dec and Jan 1.

John did NOT go to the bowl game in Memphis, not enough guys were interested in going. He was ok with that. Besides, it looked like it was cold there too.

I started my new job today, and it was interesting. There was a frozen pipe to the sprinkler system in the business office that lead to massive retrieval of computers, records etc. All of the residents down that hallway were evacuated to the dining room.

Abs, I hope they find out why your DH's calcium is low.

Vicki IT IS cold in Memphis! I hate cold weather!

Has anyone tried bulletproof coffee? I've consumed it off and on and I like the taste but I can't say that I've noticed any surges in energy or mental clarity that others have experienced. Perhaps I've just not drunk it on enough consecutive days? I had sleep deprivation headache this morning so I thought no better time to re-introduce it to my morning routine. Neither it or tylenol had any impact so my day was tough to get through.

Eleven days off work and I get sick the last one. Yesterday was fever, sore throat. This morning is starting the same. I've always said I'll go to work snotty and not feeling well but not if I have a fever. Until today, I have crap to do, I can't stay home.

On the plus side, I have a docs appointment today, just for a check up but pretty good timing.

It's 4║ at the moment. Heat wave!! A high of 18║ expected today. The first time I complain of the heat this summer, just slap me

Grace, you have to ask? come on in!

so far today, I had some tuna salad with some pork rinds, a piece of cold salmon, followed by 1 oz pepper jack cheese. with all my newly found discipline, I STILL need to be extra careful with cheese. I can easily, as I have in the past, eaten the the whole 8oz pkge in one sitting. so, I ate the fish 1st, THEN I ate the 1 oz cheese, AFTER i put the package back. carbs, so far today is 1. that includes the juice of 2 lemon wedges, and the cheese. the label said less than 1 gram carbs per oz. today, i am gonna use up my leftover critters before i touch the porterhouse. i got the ROCKY MOUNTAIN TUMBLER. i am gonna put it to the test soon. again please let me re-iterate, the NECESSITY of reading labels at the store. KNOW what y'all put into yourselves. KNOWLEDGE IS KING! Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Hi Chris. I finally found my way back.
Thank you FF. I also had tuna salad and pork rinds today.
I am not sure I can make it here everyday, but committed to a weekly check in.

Thank you Abi. We are having a cold spell here in Georgia, but not quite pipe bursting weather, yet.
Chris, that is a tough, just take care of both of them, to be fair.

i am confused, Grace! are you also Lynn?

I had a big dinner yesterday. I HAD intended to divide it for 2 meals, but I ate it all in one sitting, remembering Dom deLouise in the movie FATSO. he ate $40.00 worth of Chinese food. I recommend that film, btw. you laugh and you cry. I had the House Special soup, a small order of sauceless ribs (5 pieces), and an order of ATKINS-IZED roast pork egg foo young. that is quite all right. I not only practice diversity in regard to what I eat (within the parameters of my plan), and the times that I eat, but also the quantity as well. I am now gonna have a big mug of herbal tea, ENJOY our big snowfall, listening to classical fm (after Let's Make a Deal is over). Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Hi Artemis, nice to meet you. I love your Avi.

FF, yes grace is just a moniker on here, more of a reminder to myself, how to live my life. Now to really muddy the waters my first name is Rebecca, but I go by my middle name, Lynn.

I WILL BE IN thru Saturday

this is one of the advantages of retirement. who, by the Gods, wants to go to work in this blizzard, and hopefully get home alive? miraculously, the diner is delivering food. I ordered a double chicken dinner, the second chicken portion, a la carte. the most important part is the chicken broth. I DO want to get out on Sunday. I ran out of low carb cookies. I also got a pre-paid card for my next Netrition order. those of you dealing with snow/wind, I hope your sojourns are safe. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Can I join in? I've done OK so far, but I'm afraid most of my recent weight loss is a result of being sick with a bad cold and not eating much. Hopefully some of it is real. I look forward to being here.

WELCOME ABOARD SK8TERMOM!

these Blitzes are all about developing good food behaviors, such as reading labels when food shopping, planning ahead, so as NOT to allow unexpected circumstances to sabotage your plan, etc etc etc. I, myself, have done everything wrong over many years. but I picked myself up, dusted myself off, and began again. I believe I am beginning to win the war. the good news is that I no longer struggle. I eat like a KING, within the parameters of my plan. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Hi Mom

I'm ready for the weekend! I plan to vegetate.

The weight loss challenge at work started today, I have 6 weeks to lose 3%. That's 8.2 pounds for me. This scale here is off by a few pounds, plus fully clothed, I liked the number at home this morning much better.

Today is a rerun of stuffy nose, sore throat, headache, plus we've added sneezing, runny nose, and hockers. I knew you'd like that.

Hurry up 4pm!

welcome back, lynn!!!!! we've missed you!

welcome s-mom!...we are a group of easy-going, non-judgemental types who encourage and support rather than preach or chastise...we all follow our own versions of lc eating plans and share what's going on in our lives...if you're here, you're family...ff and i have been here since the first week of april 2010 - he started the blitzes and i joined on the seventh day of blitz #1...

abi, how is hubby doing?...sorry about the burst pipe...where was it located?

vicki, good to see you...what's your new job?...hey, where the heck has marilee been?...is she okay?...tell her i miss her...

chris, i'd hit 'em both - hubby a little harder for the truck debacle...

ff, that porterhouse is gonna have a calf before you get to eating it...sheesh...

hi artemis, how's the house coming along?...what stage is it at?

crazy weather here...got a good amount of snow from this storm...thank goodness for the storm...potential disaster brewing in my transmission though...was clearing a neighbor's drive and in reverse it started whining...just dropped it off at transmedic for a diagnosis...i hope it is not shot and $4000!

off to work as i have a mediation this afternoon...had a postponement this morning. :-)

TONY, that's my strategy!

once the calf is weaned, i'll eat them both! I am making it this afternoon, after today's Metopera; which, btw is Hansel & Gretel, which will be in English translation. one for the kids, and kids at heart. i am declaring a work free weekend for us all. we have 1 task, and 1 task only: stay warm and get well (hear that, Chris?). oh yes-STAY ON PLAN!
