Hi all! Sorry I didnt get in here yesterday. I spent my day sleeping and vomiting. I assumed it was from my 3 drinks. I got really sick the last time I had a little wine also. Now Im not so sure it was the 3 drinks. Dh woke up sick as a dog. Poor guy still had to make an attempt to go to work to not lose his holiday pay. I think I shall not be drinking again anytime soon regardless!!!

The NYE party at our house was fun but towards the end I had a splitting headache and couldnt wait for everyone to leave. We had some friends stay over whom of course I am never in a hurry to have leave. I really adore them! Our house was a bit worse for wear. I think 3 drinks got spilled. I told dh no more parties unless it is summer

I did weigh today and it was down but I literally kept nothing down so I am sure I am dehydrated. I will not weigh in again until Jan 30th I think. I do not plan to go off plan or do more than a 75 gram carb spike.

Todays plan

sausage egg and cheese on a smart bun

shake

taco bake

22 almonds

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY JESS!!!!!

DIMPLY OH MY GOSH FRIEND!!!!! 96.5 pounds is simply amazing!!!!! Your our rock star for sure!!!

Hey Mick, tell me about your CN, if you will. How often do you do them, what do you eat, etc? Only 75 carb? I was doing it a while back but didn’t see much progress probably because I was going overboard. It would take me all week to get back to my previous weight.

Hope you feel better today!

Mercy. Still sick. Woke up to a nice birthday prez from the water co on New Years Day. They cut the water to the neighborhood for some reason after 4:30am which caused the pipe from the meter to freeze. So now we don't have water. Got to 17deg yesterday. Maybe 20ish today. Maybe Wed it will get above freezing long enough for us to have water... Every time we get in the 20s or teens and they cut the water off this happens. So we have about 20 juice bottles full of water stored for flush water and we keep bottled water. Lead contamination and now this nonsense again. We're probably going to blow our refund and all our savings on a well this summer.

Congrats on the 96.5lb loss for the year, Dimpy!
Amazing.

I'm going to walk a bit today on the Dreadmill while watching Netflix. Not too fast though as I still don't feel well. I have a plan to stick to for the next 6 weeks.

Wishing everyone a good day.

I usually go overboard myself. Hence the slower loss in 2017 compared to others much more strict. However it is a plan I can live with so it works! Since I wont be weighing I plan to keep my spikes on Saturdays to 75 grams at least for Jan. Usually it is rice, potato and maybe some ice cream or chocolate. Dried fruit is a good one for me too. I have a wheat allergy so that eliminates a lot of stuff Id love to get into!

Well dh is definately sick. He sure is toasty to to snuggle with the poor guy!!! I hope he is feeling better tomorrow.

My menu got changed a bit due to having two appointments tonight.

Dinner ended up being celery, peppers and cream cheese dip. No time to make the taco bake and dh wasnt hungry.

I am pretty much back to normal, except for being hoarse. I haven't had to take my as-needed meds for over 24 hours, and almost forgot to take my antibiotic this morning. I will be sterilizing the house for the next few days, before my dad & step-mother come this weekend.

This weather is so miserable. Possible snow &/or sleet tonight. I swear I don't know how y'all up north do this. It will be in the mid-50s by week's end which is normally pretty cold down here, but seems toasty now. It was colder here than it was in Anchorage this morning! I am going to wash towels tonight in hot water, then run the dishwasher on a delay to keep hot water running through the pipes.

Mick - Hope you're feeling better, and I'm sorry that DH is sick. I had to laugh at you snuggling up to his fever-ish self to keep warm. Totally something I would do.

I was reading up on CN, and it's something I may incorporate soon. This next couple of weeks will be a good test for me, since I know of at least 3 dinners out to celebrate my birthday next week.

Jess - So sorry that you are sick again, and now no water! Sheesh! I hope both are resolved very soon!

yesterday:
B - hot tea w/Toranis
D - black eye peas, cole slaw, champagne

Dimply- sorry about the weather. It was 17 monday here. Yesterday I think it made it up to 27. Today it will hit 30. And then 17 again tomorrow. We probably won't get water back until Sunday afternoon when it's supposed to warm up.

We're running to town for more bottled water this evening. And to the inlaws to take showers. This stinks. I went to the creek, broke open a spot, and filled 3 5-gal buckets 2/3full using an icing container yesterday afternoon. The goats and the sheep needed water as it was all frozen over. I'll probably doing that again today to take water to Dad's since he couldn't manage it.

I said it already but this stinks.

Feeling a tad better today. Dd15 is feeling worse. Waiting for DH to come down with it since he's the only one who hasn't had it yet. He spent hours yesterday trying to warm the exposed pipe with charcoal... no luck obviously.

What a year already...

Poor dh sure has the flu. He is like a furnace. I have a feeling he will be home tomorrow. Mom is still under the weather too. I brought her dinner and told her she needs to go in and my schedule. I've got to go get another more in depth mammogram and ultrasound tomorrow. She said they saw several changes whatever that means. Trying not to think it's bad. Guess I'll see tomorrow after work!

Dimply that is some horrid weather for your area! I do think it is worse when your not used to it. We are only minus 1 now so we are a heatwave! If your worrying about freezing can u just leave your taps drip a bit? I bet you would do really good with cn. Oh yes I feel fine

Jess wow I am so sorry you are going through this water nightmare! I'm glad your feeling better though! Sorry kiddo is feeling worse. There sure is a lot of yucky stuff going around. Take care!

Feeling much better. Still a little wheezy & hoarse, but nothing major. I was exhausted all day yesterday & fell asleep before 10 last night, so I guess my body is still in recovery mode.

No more freezing temps for at least the next week, and we will be in the 70s by Sunday. yay!

gregsgirl! So glad you have joined us. What you want to post is up to you. I like to post my menus to keep myself accountable, and we have a weight chart that I will copy & paster below this post so you can add your stats if you want. 15 lbs by Easter is a great goal!

jess - So sorry about the water situation, and I hope it can be resolved before Sunday. Come back to Houston with your sister! You can stay with me! Hope you're feeling better.

Mick - Hope your DH & mom are feeling better.

Sending good vibes for your mammogram. I would not be surprised if your weight loss is throwing the pictures off. Weight gain/loss affects breast tissue, and the technician was even able to show you the difference when you had your mammogram last week.

Missing FindingMe, Jenn, Michelle, better, GailyGail. They are expecting tons of snow in Boston tomorrow so I hope Gail & Tony are OK & keeping warm. And you know they are cooking something fabulous while stuck indoors!

yesterday:
B - hot tea w/Toranis
D - bunless burger dipped in mustard; coleslaw

I went to Gail's journal to wish her a happy new year & see how she is doing, and learned that Tony died I am so devastated for her; they seemed like such a great couple.

That is so terrible for her!
I'm praying and left her a note in her j.

I shall not complain about anything today. Perspective...

Dh finally is feeling almost better but mom is still not doing well ( not the flu and going on 2 weeks!). Im trying to talk her into urgent care and not the 6:45 she set up for me to run her to before work Monday morning. Ill be going and getting her a few things and continue bringing her dinner and mail . Poor mom One of the kids is down with it also now. So far so good for me! At work we are missing a ton of kids with the flu.

Woo hoo we will be leaving the crapatastic -22 weather for much better temos tomorrow!!!

I am really loving the Keto Chow shake mix. Best kind I have ever tasted.

Ive got to do some more follow after the second mammo and ultrasound up on the 11th. A needle biopsy is no biggie. BC doesnt run in the family. Im not too worried just more of an annoyance.

KIM Welcome! nice to have you join us!!!!

DIMPLY Im so glad you are feeling better!!! Hip hip hooray on the cold weather moving out. We are supposed to leave subzero tomorrow Oh my gosh I just read your comment about Tony

JESS I hope the sickies are leaving your house.

I love your perspective on the mammo... so healthy. No need to wreck your present moment and freak out, right??? I got called back after my first mammo which they told me was totally normal and would probably happen. I was on vacation when they called me and it ruined my trip because I was worried and obsessing, and of course it turned out to be nothing.

You ladies are all doing great and have a lovely group here. Sorry to barge in. I'm a lurker

Looking forward to the 30 above temps coming tomorrow too!!!

My dad & step-mother are here! Picked them up from the airport yesterday evening. My dad broke his own rule & bought a king cake before King's Day (which is today), and brought it. I haven't eaten any yet and probably won't until later in the week. It looks & smells great, but it's not what I'm craving right now and I'd rather not eat it just because it's there. That is one of the habits I'm trying to break! I told him he should have brought Hazel instead We had dinner at a local burger place that my dad & DH both love, which is next door to a Starbucks. I had been craving one of their holiday drinks so planned to get one while we were there, but ended up with a regular coffee. Just didn't want the sugary drink for whatever reason. DH is grilling tonight, so I should be able to remain on plan today.Tomorrow I'll weigh & measure, and my plan is to eat what I want until my birthday Thursday, then get back on plan Friday & stay off the scale until the end of the month.

It has been a beautiful day, 65 & sunny, so we went to an eclectic part of town & just walked around. I was sunscreened up and wore a hat, but have no doubt that I will pay with a lupus flare-up tonight. We stopped in a bookshop (all mysteries!) and my dad started talking to the owners. Turned out they moved here after Katrina, and they knew my mom (brought their kids to the pediatrician she was a nurse for). They didn't know my mom had died and were sad to hear it, but what a small world! We stopped at a cute cafe for lunch, but I said so much sun was giving me a headache & drank water. It wasn't, but I didn't want to eat, which of course led to a discussion about let's do something inside - go to a movie or to a mall or home - which I didn't want to do because I was enjoying myself. But saying I didn't want to eat would have been drama. Shame that I am a grown woman and have to lie, but it really is easier that way where my family is concerned. And DH was at a co-worker's mom's funeral so I didn't have that buffer.

Endo yesterday, she doubled the strength of my meds, but said it will probably be temporary. Have to have labs redone in early Feb.

Kim - You're doing great! Showing a loss each day is

Jess - How are you feeling?

Mick - Great attitude about the follow-up to your mammo. I am praying that it's nothing.
Unfortunately, BC runs rampant in my family (it's what my mom died of). It's not BRCA, but with the many cases of hormone-driven cancers on both sides of my family, there is for sure a genetic component.

Your mom needs to get to the doctor asap! I hope you can convince her to go before Monday. How is DH feeling? I didn't realize you had gone back to school already. They don't go back here until Monday, and in NOLA also. Step-mother is a school librarian so will miss the first day back since they fly out Monday AM. She considered going in for the afternoon, for about 1/2 a second, and decided no way

Glad you will be above 0 degrees! Heat wave

deanslist - Barge in all you want! We are happy to have you here! Enjoy the "warm" weather. I am in the south, so your warm temps were our miserable, record breaking temps earlier this week. I don't know how y'all do it!

Good Morning!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

Down 1.5 lbs & .5" Going to try to stay off of the scale until EOM.

As I predicted after all the sun yesterday I had a lupus flare-up last night, but thankfully it wasn't too bad.

Going to go to Mass, then probably for coffee &/or very light lunch. We have early - 5:15 - dinner reservations (have to work around diabetic kitty's insulin schedule), so getting out of eating lunch will be easy. DH & my dad hate that their Saints game watching will be interrupted for dinner, but since you never know with the Saints, they may be happy about it! But kitty comes first!

Jess - Today is water day, right?

Have a great Sunday!

Dean's List I'm glad you're barging in. Remember it's not barging if we're looking forward to seeing you and you're welcome The more the merrier. Yeah I decided not to worry too much about the biopsy stuff cuz really there's nothing I can do about it it's not life and death so all good. Did you get the heat wave we got down this way today? Such a relief from the Sub-Zero temps huh?

Dimply, I'm so sorry that the son gave you such a bad flare. I hope the increase in meds help and become less frequent. It sounds like you had a really nice time with your dad. That's fabulous. Yeah we all get kind of weird about that eating stuff with some people. But such is life. We just cope as best we can. That's really neat that the owner of the bookstore ended up knowing your mom. She was obviously a lady that was really easy to remember and that's fabulous. Hope you and d8h had a good dinner.

Nothing too exciting here today. We had a heat wave and hit the twenties. Woohoo. Such a relief after 13 straight days of way below zero. I'm hoping if it warms up a little more I can get the Frozen chords out of the snow from the Christmas lights.

Nope no luck getting Mom to go to the doctor earlier. She did seem like she was doing a little better today though. I will have her at the doctor brighten early tomorrow morning so we can fit it in before I go to work. I ended up having card night tonight. As weird as it sounds it was oranges and rice. I've got a protein coffee planned for tomorrow morning for on the go to the way to the doctor. Tomorrow for lunch I'll be having a a keto Shake and whatever veggies are good at school. For dinner tomorrow the plan is burgers and veggies

So...from the last challenge, I basically got nowhere. But I didn't gain more. Even with the water retention of the supplements, which aren't curing but making a part of the annoyance of the Sjogren's more tolerable, so I'll keep them. And see what I can get accomplished by April.

I'm certain maybe a pound or so of water weight from my birthday indulgence is still lingering from that weigh in. I'll be weighing Saturday mornings. Which I did this time but I got busy (why will follow) and Sunday I'm never online because between church, getting ready for the week or spending time with the family...no time. Yesterday DH was out lighting charcoal under the exposed pipe. Nothing. He thinks the meter itself is frozen. He dismantled part of the line where he made ours feed Dad's place, and there was unfrozen water pouring out. Which we collected to use.

Wed and Saturday both we went to the inlaws to shower, refill our 30-odd jugs and old juice bottles, and to fill 7 5-gal bucket in their very large creek which was too big to freeze over. It was supposed to be warm enough today, but the forecast has changed, so we don't really have a hope. Hope starts tomorrow, unless the forecast dramatically changes again. So today is day 8 without water. All 6 of us have our dental cleanings at 1pm.

I'm itching to get water back. I can hear the dishes and laundry conspiring to overthrow us and take over the house. So far we've been using paper everything and had enough water to wash silverwear and one pan. The house smells like a Porta-Potty at 2pm in the middle of August in the South...I'm beyond tired of it. But it's also been a good mindfulness exercise. The amount of water to just flush a toilet! Lugging water up from the creek when it isn't frozen over...

So... patiently waiting some more. I'm actually starting to get used to it. But pretty soon our feet will stick to the floor when we walk if I don't get to do these floors! We get to go to the dentist unshowered today, but at least we had one Saturday night.

As for the Sick-meter. Dad has it and so does DH. Dd15 and I are almost over it. I was well enough to do about 40 mins of HIIT and Tabata yesterday. But the congestion just won't leave. I'm tired of waiting. Back to slinging dem weights today, if I can squeeze it in. It will take several hours to do all our teeth.

See, Deanslist, this is why I don't write more in my journal, I dump it all on these poor ladies.

Wishing you all a wonderful day.

It stormed last night & early this morning, so my stepmother went on-line & rebooked her & my dad's flight home for one leaving a couple of hours later. They texted a little while ago that they are home. It was a nice visit.

Last night's dinner was nice. My eating dinner-wise was great - prime rib, salad, grilled asparagus, wine - but there were 3 desserts at the table & I had some of each. I definitely felt it too - ugh! But we had a wonderful time, the Saints won in a nail-biter, and I was able to stick to OMAD all weekend, even if I had to skirt the truth a little to do so

Like I posted yesterday, my plan through Thursday is to eat what I want. Yesterday after church we went to Whole Foods & I got a container of this chicken salad that I really like (chicken salad sounds l/c but this one has grapes & pecans in it), and also some olive & bell pepper cream cheese dip to eat with parm crisps. Had some of each today, and it was just so-so. Guess my tastes have changed, and I may not even bother to finish them. But I have tons of cake & candy here, and my rules are no binging & no hidden/secret eating (2 huge issues for me), I have to spend at least an hour on the treadmill, and anything left over after Thursday gets thrown away.

Mick - My maiden name is not one you hear everyday, so that helps with recognition But my mom was very popular and admired, and you could not go anywhere with her in NOLA without running into someone she knew. When they evacuated here after Katrina, she ran into people at stores, the movie, restaurants, etc that she knew (mostly fellow evacuees, but she ran into a HS classmate who had moved to Dallas & was here visiting). She ran into more people 400 miles away from home in 2 1/2 months than I do in a year

Hope your mom's appointment went well, and she is on her way to getting relief. Enjoy the above-0 heat wave

Jess - I'm so very sorry you are still dealing with no water. Unbelievable! Sending all kinds of warming vibes to your area! And vent away.

Kim - Impressive steps & weight loss. My stepmother & I had fun comparing our fitbits and I always had more steps. I told her it's because I have to take twice as many steps to keep up with her & my dad, who are 5'9" and 6' tall (I'm only 5'2")

Good evening everyone!
I wanted to stop in and tell you a little about myself.
I am a mother of 4 and I am married to my best friend. I have 2 girls and 2 boys. They are 27, 20, 18 and 11. (Boy, girl, girl, boy) We experience all kinds of parenting challenges and victories of all kinds each day. Lol!
I have been working full time now for the past year and a half. This has been a big change after being a stay at home for so long. I enjoy working but it is hard to miss things with my kids. I work hard to try and balance everything.

I love to read, write and scrapbook. I love getting to know new people.
So, hello to all all of you! I look forward to getting know each of you better.

Unfortunately, I am battling what I believe is a stomach virus. So, I will keep this short.

Jess, I can’t imagine not having water. I am so sorry. I will be praying your area gets some warm weather and that you can get all the water you need without walking to the creek.

Mick and Dimply, Thanks for the encouragement.

Melissa, Happy to see you here too!

Good night!

Ugh let's try this again. I just lost a nice long response. I got Mom and and of course it did have to do with her sinuses and fluid in the ears. Tomorrow I've Got A Squeeze and driving her to a meeting before work. I'm hoping she's feeling much better in the next couple days. It's been over 2 weeks since she's been able to drive. I don't mind helping her but I'm sure she would much rather be able to get out on her own.

I have no idea what is going on with me but my appetite is completely out of control I swear I ate like a starved dog today. I'm sure I probably head over 2,500 calories. It was low carb but definitely too much low carb.

I'm going to apologize in advance for typos fix it don't make very much sense. I'm using voice to text because I did something that shoots to my neck collar bone in arm and it hurts to sit at the computer and actually type. I'm taking anti-inflammatory and trying to give that arm and that whole area as much rest as possible as I do have to do some fairly heavy lifting at work which just about killed me today. So anyways this is a voice to text on my phone so if it's really wonky you know why

Kim, thanks for sharing some more about yourself. You're doing fantastic with the loss and the steps for sure. I'm sure that is a huge adjustment getting used to working full-time after being a stay-at-home mom for so long. For me it was hard to get used to having a set Monday through Friday schedule after years of being able to do whatever I want with my schedule and move my clients. I hope it gets easier for you over time.

Jess, I'm glad to hear you and Ds are feeling better. However I'm sorry to hear that now hubby and father-in-law have it. You guys need a you guys need a can of Murphy repellent. Between all the sickness and the frozen pipes you guys have definitely had it rough. We went 8 days without water once due to our basement filling with water with us a pipe that snapped. We had torrential rains and it washed through the footings in the basement got the water heater swinging and snap the pipes unbeknownst to us. When we woke up we had 6 feet of water in the basement it was awful. thankfully the boys were naughty and didn't listen and had been tipped over DH little rowboat can play in it and it had filled with water. We use that water to flush toilets. I hope you guys can catch a break on the water issue soon. If it's frozen at the meter is there somebody from your city that can come take care of it? Don't sweat the fact that you didn't see any big losses through the challenge I think just not gaining is a big huge win myself.

Dimply, I'm glad your step mom and dad got home safe. It sounds like everyone had a nice visit. Sounds like you had a very scene eating plan. Isn't it funny how when we don't indulge in deserts so often how it kind of upsets the gut and you just feel it differently than you did when you used to be able to polish off a half a pan of brownies. That's a really nice compliment to your mom but so many people remember her fondly. I'm sure that makes you smile and gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. I'm glad you're Saints won.

I hope you are all feeling better and had a nice day on plan.
I am on Day 2 of some sort of stomach bug. So, I am heading to bed. I have to work in the morning. I will catch up tomorrow.

Kim- hoping you are feeling better soon. It stinks to have to go to work sick!

Mick- I do hope your arm/neck cuts that out very soon. OUCH!

Day 10 no water. It was 51 yesterday. It should have thawed. I get to go pay the water bill today. Unwashed. We'll have to break into the water heater if it isn't thawed by this afternoon. Dishwasher and sink are completely full. Clothes running low. House stinks. I'm DONE. But I'm not done, because there's nothing I can do about it. I have a sinking feeling we'll be taking showers at the inlaws again come the weekend. This is ridiculous.

I'm so cranky! So is DH.
Ok. I'm done complaining. Sorry. I'm just so...

Those that pray...I wouldn't mind some help.
Wishing you all a wonderful day.
