115.8 which is only up .6 from last week. I thought I would have gained so happy to be maintaining my weight. Eating not so great at all.

Barely across the line into 146 -- that's less than a pound gained after a week's vacation!
I'm happy. My sister in law gained eight ... and it must have been from the foofy tropical drinks, because we ate meals together and she was by no means pigging out. LC rocks.

Am I the first? (No--Stargazey was!)
119.4 This is after a three-day mini-vacation last weekend during which I ate rather luxuriously at a casual upscale restaurant, three meals in a row, and drank wine every night. So I can't say I'm not immensely pleased that I didn't gain, but actually lost. |

Congrats peanutte on that little loss. Sometimes I think a little rise in our carbs/calories for a short period can create that magic.

116.4. up a little but not even a pound. I haven't eaten well at all but I am pretty much holding steady. I start my marathon taper soon and most people gain because their miles reduce dramatically. I have to be carefull and eat healthy during this time.
I am home sick and can't eat much today but this isn't a good way to lose weight. Damn stomach bug. My DIL had it last weekend. I hope no one else in my house gets it. No fun at all. |

Oh, blah blah blah--I wouldn't listen to that. It's not like you weigh 160 pounds, for Pete's sake. I'm sure you're in the healthy range for your height.

down is good and what our goals are may need to change. I thought 122 was acceptable for a long time. Now I think 118 is fine and want to be around that. I honestly could stay at 116 and be happy but what the magic number is I don't know.
The too thin comments still aren't coming my way and they did when I was 113-114. I think we have to listen to our own bodies. |

My 'official' maintenance weight is 165, and that's what I've been for the past 2 weeks. So I should be content.
My problem is that I actually was 162 last month and then suddenly bounced up to 165 and have stayed there, despite the fact that I'm eating to lose--i.e. having gotten to 162, I saw no reason to go back up, so I want to at least get back to 162. (My 'secret' goal is to maintain while very, very slowly getting down to 155, so I was thrilled at the 162.) I've been having some medical symptoms and just did some tests at my endo for adrenals and parathyroid, so there may be something hormonal going on. I'm also hypothyroid, and when my T3 'tanked' a couple of years ago, I gained 10 lbs in 2 weeks, eating exactly the same as when I was losing a pound a week. When I was medicated, those 10 lbs didn't melt right off (as I'd hoped) but had to be lost at my same slow rate. I live in fear of another episode like that, so that's why I get concerned when I should be losing--and I'm not. If anyone else posted this, I'd be responding that 3 lbs can just be a water fluctuation, so I know I'm obsessing, but my motto is that 'eternal vigilance is the price of successful maintenance.' |

Leo, I completely understand. I recently upped my dose of meds by half again because my TSH went from the low 2s to a mid-3 and my PA agreed with me that we want to see it in the 1-2 range. I know what it's like to always live with the underlying fear that something thyroid-related will suddenly undo all our hard work and make our already-cautious eating ineffective. It is frightening; it really is. It's okay to "obsess" about that stuff when you might have good cause to. Who wants to let things get to a point where you regain 20 pounds and have to lose it again?! Not me! Not you!
You have my sympathies and I truly hope you get back to that lower weight soon. You look great, though. I don't have to say that and I wouldn't if I didn't mean it. |
