Good morning, everyone. I'm finally getting time to go back and read all the threads that I missed. Yesterday was a crazy busy day at work. I drank an Atkins shake in the morning and didn't eat anything but a handful of almonds when I finally got off work at 9 last night. I'm simply amazed sometimes that I'm just not all that hungry. Before, my stomach would have been growling and I would have been a very cranky person for not eating.
I do have a question some of you can answer. The last 10 days or so I've been experiencing a strange pain on my right hand side behind my ribs. It's not really a pain it feels more like a muscle. Perhaps I'm not drinking enough water or something.

Kelly, thanks for sharing the recipes. Looks yummy!

Lily, yay on the scale moving down for you this week!

Khay, I don't know what the pain could be. Hopefully someone else might have an idea. The appetite suppression with low carb can be pretty awesome!

Yesterday was a bit off kilter with my macros, but I was able to adjust pretty well. A higher carb day, so my weight is still up a bit. Hoping to be down into 173's by tomorrow.

Khay, if your pain persists I’d recommend you see a doctor. When I first did this WOE way back around 2000, I had very similar pain and it ended up being gallbladder issues. Thankfully I just had what they called gallbladder sludge but that can lead to gallstones. My doctor attributed my issues to my high fat diet. Thankfully I haven’t suffered from it since then. I hope you can get it figured out and taken care of!

It's quiet around here! Hope some of you pop back in and post.

Yesterday went well. I did the P57 Express workout, which is pretty challenging. But not quite as bad as I remembered! It's a barre workout. The more I do it the easier it will get I know. Had dinner with a friend and kept to my macros. Weight is moving down slowly but surely. I have all my food planned for the weekend. We're going out tomorrow night for a work thing for BF, so I'm going to do the bunless burger and a side salad. Never been there but I know for sure they will have THAT on the menu since it's a bar.

Hi all,

Sorry I have been so busy it's crazy. I was helping my neighbor back and forth getting there truck fixed for 3 weeks. As I dropped them off my minivan broke down. UGH!! Just my luck. I also have not been weighing in. I am trying to eat really clean (Whole30) but it's hard. I miss my coffee, hwc, stevia. That's about it. Funny things was I went shopping to get a few things and decided to really read all the labels. I was surprised that most everything has sugar in it. I put most things back so really just eating eggs and sausage for breakfast, salad with diced chicken for lunch and stir fry or spaghetti with meat sauce and spaghetti squash, baked chicken side salad things like that. No snacking at night for me either. Just having tea with no stevia

I might break down and have coffee with ghee for snack. I wish I had coconut milk I would have that too but I don't. I did buy sunflower seed butter and Almond butter in case I want something to snack on. I was mad that when I read the label I can't have the sunflower seed butter. Still tweaking things....

Hope everybody has a great day. Hold on for the weekend I know this is when people slide.

Pam, I couldn’t survive without my coffee! Sorry to hear about your minivan breakdown! Ugh!

I had a hectic week and am truly thankful it’s the weekend. Work is busy and we are trying to train our rescue dog, who is adorable but came to us with few manners. She is learning thankfully, but it’s a lot of work.

My house smells wonderful and I just enjoyed a hot chocolate chip cookie right out of the oven. I used about 3 cups almond flour, about 1/4 cup of flax seed meal, 3 eggs, a stick of butter, 2 tsp vanilla, 10 packets Splenda and a pinch of baking soda and salt. I mixed the batter then added about 2/3 a bag of SF dark chocolate chip (stevia sweetened). I bake the cookies at 350 for about 10 minutes. I only made 5 cookies and put the rest of the batter in the fridge to save for another night. Even my son liked the cookies!

My weight is holding steady between 174 and 175 depending on the day, and I stuck with intermittent fasting all week, skipping dinner. Skipped dinner tonight but then had a cookie.

I hope everyone has a great night!!

Good morning ladies,

It's very windy here but not terribly cold. The temps are suppose to drop down so I will put on chili in the crock pot for after Church.

Julie - where did you get those chocolate chips. I have been buying the enjoy life ones. Are those what you are talking about or are they different. I don't think I ever looked at the bag to notice if they were SF or not.

Doing well. I have been drinking tea instead of coffee for most days. I did have coffee last night and this am and broke the Whole30 rules and had stevia in it. Can't believe out of everything that's what I missed the most. The only problem is in the past I have noticed if I drink the coffee, hwc, stevia I was more apt to have creamed items for lunches and dinner. So trying to break that habit and eat a bit more plain like Whole30 style. Organics, salad, veggies, fruits (not much yet) and no cream. hanging in there so all ok. I will weigh myself later in the month and see, but for now just watching what I eat. I was so temped to tell myself I can blow it on Thanksgiving but realized I dont need to. I can just have turkey, sautee green beans, salad with ranch and call it a day. I will cook the other foods for the family, but just need to change something in my life....

Hope everyone is doing well.

Menu:
B - coffee, ghee, coconut oil blended
L - 1/2 chicken thigh
D - sheppard's pie
S - decaf, coconut milk, 1 tsp almond butter

hi, Pam!. That's exactly the right mind-set for thanksgiving! It's a day built around turkey! I will make stuffing for the family - a small amount - and all carby leftovers go home with other people And I've got turkey for days! I was planning to make a pork loin but I unexpectedly got a free turkey from work so I'm going to spatchcock it (butterfly) and do a dry brine. I really enjoy making and hosting thanksgiving dinner.

Pam, I get the Lily's Dark Chocolate Premium Baking Chips which are sweetened with stevia from netrition.com. I also use them in my almond flour pancakes. They’re pretty good and hold up well.

I splurged a bit yesterday on cranberry cinnamon goat cheese with my almond flour crackers. It’s pretty low carb. My sams club still didn’t have my favorite blueberry goat cheese so I tried the cranberry one and it was pretty good. I’m still hoping they get the blueberry one again soon.

We are going to the movies today for Justice League. The struggle will be on given the prevalent smell of popcorn everywhere! I’ll get a big diet coke and sneak in some almonds. I’ll still want popcorn!

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Hi, Everybody! Well, the thanksgiving cooking has begun! And quickly running out of refrigerator space! I've been to the gym every day and getting 15-20,000 steps. That helps motivate me and keep me out of the few carby things. I'm making LC pumpkin cheesecake mousse instead of a pie - there might be some complaints about that, but I don't care - ha. I'm looking forward to having everyone over - my plan is to not get too hungry (keep LC snacks available), and focus more on the company and less on the food.

It’s almost turkey day!!

I will start making my sides today and I need to do some final shopping. I’m so excited for some yummy food tomorrow. This morning I weighed 175.0 so I’m successfully maintaining my weight. I even had a few higher calorie days over the last week so I’m thankful my body is settling here for now. I may try to really reduce calories on Friday to make up for tomorrow. I should also be getting on the treadmill more but have been struggling with exercise motivation.

I took off work today and enjoying my leisurely morning sipping coffee. Once the sun comes up I’ll get ready and start shopping and cleaning. Safe travels to those traveling for thanksgiving! I hope everyone has a great week!

Good morning,

Julie - I too love Thanksgiving. I need to run to the store as well and pick up a few items I had forgotten.

Casey - cooking today too. Enjoy!

I will be keeping Thanksgiving on track. I am taking the day after Thanksgiving as my cheat day. I do all the cooking and cleaning and spend no time relaxing on Thanksgiving so I take the next day off for me. I do eat stuffing which is my favorite and watch tv and shop online. We have been doing that for years and it makes for the best day. Today is baking day as well. I am making one pumpkin pie and one apple pie this year. Cleaning the house too. Hubby and I were working on molding yesterday and wow does the house look nice.

Tonight Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving is on tv at 8pm. My favorite

Menu:
B - coffee, tiny bit hwc, coconut oil blended, ghee, sausage 2 eggs
L - pork chops
D - chicken thighs, salad with paleo ranch

hi, Pam!. I'm so glad that your weight has dropped and finally stabilized so that you can relax and enjoy Thanksgiving.

Hi, Julie - I just had to laugh when I read "once the sun comes up I'll get ready and start shopping and cleaning." Even though I retired last year, I still enjoy getting up early, having coffee and planning my day - most days I'm at the gym before sunrise. Today I'm walking three labs with my friend, so I'll get a 3 mile walk in - for starters. Early morning is my favorite time.

Have a great day, everyone!!!

Julie, congrats on maintaining your weight! Finding that sweet spot must feel so good.

Pam, your Friday routine sounds wonderful. Enjoy!

Casey, I'm an early bird just like you and Julie. Love this time of day. Since daylight savings time I have been up by 4:30 most days!

Good day yesterday. I got in a 30 minute kickboxing workout and had a good day at work. Tomorrow I'll be making pumpkin pies in the morning. I'll have my favorites in moderation and plenty of turkey. I plan to balance it out with the rest of my week and still see a loss.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day with family/friends!

Happy thanksgiving! I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Thanks Alene! Great job with your workouts!

Casey, I too love the early morning hours and tend to get a lot done. I’ve got the house mostly cleaned and the turkey stuffed with citrus fruits, fresh herbs and butter in the oven. Now I’m anxiously waiting for the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade!

Pam, good plan for today and tomorrow! I will indulge a bit today but plan to get back on track tomorrow.

I will be cooking and cleaning until our guests arrive at 1pm. I will definitely get some exercise today!

Have a great day!

Hi, all! Happy thanksgiving! My prep is pretty much done and I think I'll hit Starbucks and either the gym or a walk... The weather has been so nice here that I'd rather be outside! And definitely a walk after the big meal - we are eating at noon, so lots of time to get out after. Enjoy your day and count your many blessings!
