Jshaf ~ I think am going to start taking ACV again. I drank it with water. It really helps to curve my cravings! I too like tching Dr Berg's videos. He is very informative and helpful. He tells you what works and what doesn't.

Shirlc ~ Oh... sorry to hear that! Will keep you and your son in my thoughts and prayers! Amen What helps me to sleep is reading and going to bed early. Giving myself time to wind down. I think worry and stress can keep our minds awake at night. I used to take all my stress to bed, and couldn't stop my mind from solves all my problems. We need to find a way to settle our minds down, and meditation (prayer), and quietness can help.

I use 2 tsp. apple cider vinegar in some water and add a little stevia/erythritol sweetener and sometimes some fresh lemon juice. Should drink through a straw to avoid acid on teeth.

I also put 2 Tbsp of AVG in a glass of fltered water. It helps curve my appetite. Take it after each meal. It also burns belly fat!

I may have to try the ACV so it can shrink my belly fat

I stayed the same today and that is still 1 pound more than I was on Monday, I am trying to add more veggies although I am not a veggie person.

Yes... it's friday! Was a beautiful sunny day and will be for a few days here on the coast. Went to the gym and afterwards did some stretches. Then did some weight lifting too. Haven't done that in a long while! Years ago I had a personal trainer show me some moves... she was training to become a certified personal trainer at the time, and offered her services for free! You know... it all came back to me!

Good morning everyone hope you are having a good Sunday.

I was down 1 pound yesterday and up .4 today , I am weighing my protein, cheese and making sure I am not over in carbs I am staying under 20 carbs.

Today is a month since I started Keto I lost almost 11 pounds but have lost and gained the last 2 - 3 pounds for the last 2 weeks. I am going to start Yoga this week to see if I can get things moving again.

WTG!! Cathy ~ That is a hugh amount of weight to lose! I always compare a pound of sugar to a pound of fat, and you lost 11 of them on your body. Makes a big difference on how you feel. Those few pounds you gained are probably water retention. So, keep going and never give up!!

I am up .2 so still doing the yoyo was down 1 pound from Friday to Saturday and back up .6 of that still trying to find out why no weight loss for the last 2 weeks. If I was maintaining I would be solid but sadly I am not as I still have about 40 pounds to lose.

Anyway have a great day everyone hope you are losing.

Cindy ~ don't get discouraged. Those 40 last pounds will eventually come off. Keep at it! Your weight will fluctuate during the week. Just keep being positive!

It's monday again. Did any of you get some sleep this weekend due to the spring forward time change? I wi saturday and am down a pound!
So... never give up! You can do this!!

Spring has sprung here on the coast! The purple and white flower crocuses have come up, and the daffodils are almost, but not quite ready. Still green shoots showing, but no yellow flowers yet. Too early! The birds are chirpin' and happily singing their songs. I walked to the park saturday afternoon. There is a man-made pond, and the park board stocks it each year with fresh fish so the locals can fish there. I sat on a bench for a while soaking up the sunshine. It was beauiful and relaxing. People walk their dogs, ride their bikes, stroll, ans excercise there. The malard ducks aren't quite ready to nest yet. Will be lookin' forward to seeing their babies. So cute!

I started the HFLC thing in mid-January, in anticipation of it working better for me than the other plans I'd done before. I thought I was doing OK, but then the scales started going up, which is SO WRONG! This last Monday, I figured my macros (1300 cal / 20 carbs / 94 fat / 98 protein) which I had never done before. I was doing OK on carbs, but I truly think I wasn't eating enough. So now I'm using ************ to track my macros and it LOOKS like I'm doing good, but I just don't FEEL like I'm doing good, like I'm eating too much. I, of course, lost about 12 pounds right off the bat, but this week the scales were heading up, which is why I started to use the macros and app and all of that. I know I need to give it more time, and I'm not trying to lose a bunch FAST. I'm heading towards 62, well past menopause... so I know those things are against me. I'd gone through quite a long time with the "I don't care how much I weigh"... but now I'd like to lose enough to do my summer hikes with my husband, and not be left at the campsites. I'm going to continue to do my best... which is why I'm back on LCF. I've been on here for many years, for a variety of weight loss plans. So, I'll hang out here again and hope to learn from your wisdom!!!

I did look at using an online one but I think it's about 10.00 to buy it so I held off but I may just have to buy the app so that I can put in my food and see how close I am to the macros.

I haven't lost anything for the last 3 weeks lost everything in the 1st 2 weeks but now I lose a bit go up more lose more then go up again

Sample of my eating:

B 3 scrambled eggs with less than 1 oz of cheese, 1 coffee with cream

L 4 slices of turkey (70 calories, 15 protein), 1 or 2 pieces of cheese, 2 small cucumbers

S 1 chicken thigh, cauliflower with homemade Alfredo sauce

I will also have a cream cheese muffin sometime throughout the day to get my fat in. I also will have 1 carbonated sugar free drink a day, I drinks lots of water throughout the day.

I am not sure what the problem is as I still have at least 40 pounds to lose.

Hi Jabbok......as the women in a facebook keto group I used to be in in say "I think you're getting too much protein and not enough fat". That's what they would tell me every time and the bad thing is that they were right.

For the keto to "work" 75% has to be fat and that is a LOT of fat! I didn't realize it until I actually did tracked the macros a few times. Then suddenly I knew why people made fatbombs and used MCT oil and put bacon grease and butter on their green beans!

Thanks for the reply I will work at getting more fat in I did a quick calculation of the protein it was around 77 which I am sure I am supposed to be around 68. I started making cream cheese muffins which is lots of fat but also has 2 eggs in it so more protein.

I am guessing it's not necessary to eat protein for every meal so I will just have more fat.

Thanks for the welcome, Star!! I am frustrated tonight... been tracking my macros writing everything online. Today I hit carbs right on, but was under on everything else. Tried to do my daily round-up and it said it appeared I wasn't eating enough. OK, so I find some cheese and meat sticks, up the calories and fat and protein, and then it recalculates to tell me at the rate I ate today, I'll put on another half pound from yesterday's amount in 5 weeks. Make up your mind, machine!! Either I don't eat enough, or I eat what you tell me to, and will put on 1/2 a pound from yesterday's estimation!! I realize everything is a guess... the quantities I put in, the amounts of nutrition, and everything else. Yeah, tomorrow is another day, and my entries will make things change again -- and tomorrow is a 50th anniversary celebration with champagne, dinner, cupcakes(!), so... maybe Sunday... oh, wait -- it's our anniversary... OK, Monday. I hate when computers dictate what I need to do or not do, and then life sneaks in to twist things around some more.

Welcome Laceylady. I know that it can be difficult to actually see lbs. go but a 12 lbs. loss in the beginning is pretty amazing. Average it out and you are losing at a very reasonable rate.

I would agree that you may be consuming too much protein. Remember that the definition of keto is low carb (20g or less of total carbs), moderate protein (for you, something like 60g) and fill in the rest with fat. That means that fat will be the thing you consume to feel satisfied. Do not rely on calorie counting. That is a sure fire way to confusion and may cause failure.

Using a food tracker is helpful in the beginning or periodically after you learn and understand what it is you are consuming but over time you will learn what foods work well and what don't.

I would also encourage you to put some focus on how you feel and not so much focus on the scale. Keto will give you extra energy (hiking should be much more enjoyable) and your metal clarity, sleep and inflammation will all improve.
