HI Leish!! I too made it through the holidays!! Don't beat yourself up over the pizza! Just get back doing what you do best with keto living, and it will fall off.

Glad to find you here. It's been a while! I'm fighting a scratchy throat, so staying home. Lots of gargling with salt and water...seems to help.

Take care

Hi everyone! Have you tried making LC vanilla ice cream using a Mason jar?
I came across this recipe:

Need: 1 mason jar, whipping cream, 1tbsp vanilla extract, 2 tbsps of stevia, one piece of wet paper towel

Method: Fill mason jar 1/2 full of cream, add vanilla, add stevia to taste. Shake mixture for 5 minutes until white, thick and smooth. Cover sides of mason jar with a wet paper towel. Put in freezer for 3 hours or over night. Makes 2-4 servings

Have a great day! 😊

I came across this recipe:

Need: 1 mason jar, a heavy cream, 1tbsp vanilla extract, 2 tbsps of stevia, instead of sugar, one piece of wet paper towel.

Method: Fill mason jar 1/2 full of cream, add vanilla, add stevia to taste. Shake mixture for 5 minutes until white, thick and smooth. Cover around sides of mason jar with a wet paper towel. Put in freezer for 3 hours or over night. Makes 2-4 servings

Have a great day!
Note: made a slight correction here as follows:
**Using stevia instead of sugar**
**whipping cream should be a heavy cream**

HI HoneyBera ~ congrats on getting into ketosis, and getting your questions answered! I'm working on it.

Oh Tammy....that ice cream sounds really good and I have all of the stuff to make it already, too!

I've decided that I have got to eat more fat and less protein if I'm going to continue to call what I'm doing keto! Most days I'm just low carb still. It's scary to stop with the salads and vegetables but I'm sure I'm getting too many carbs with just them too! Keto is definitely different!

This sounds really good, when you say 2 tablespoons of stevia, do you mean what would equal 2 tablespoons of sugar? My stevia is just stevia and extremely sweet a serving is 1/32 tsp

I saw photos in a Keto group I'm in of some of the member's grocery carts and they were just loaded with cream cheese and butter! I think I'm probably not doing this 100% right and is probably why I've been stalled for months now. I'm doing low carb, high calorie, I'm afraid!

I'm going to use this ugly weekend weather to read up some more!!

Hi Leisha ~ Yeah. If you decide to make this ice cream... please let me know how it tastes! 😉
Been doing some research on keto diet. 70-75% fat, 20%, protein, 5% carbs... seems to be a lot of fat intake, but is my goal. I do a bullet-proof coffee each morning. This is my recipe: I make 2-3 cups of perked coffee for 2 persons. Method: 1.make coffee any type, 2. pour in 2-4 tbsp heavy whipping cream, 1 tbsp coconut oil, 1 stevia package, or sweetener to taste. Heat in microwave 30 seconds. Yummy 😊

Hi, yeah... light rain this weekend too. Read this too. Seems to be key to weightloss success by increasing this fat! Trying not to be afraid of consuming good fats. I read about a women who had a stall or hit a plateau. She prepared ground hamburger and about 3-4 slabs of butter together in a sauce pan. Ate this for breakfat, lunch. For 2 days straight! The results were amazing! She lost weight and broke the stall!

Have a wonderful friday and weekend everyone!

HI gayandgrey ~ good for you! Keep smil'n 😉 I have a question. Do you know how to calculate macros? Just learning to do this. Will probably get the hang of it. Using my Keto strips... I am about .5, but am still in ketosis! Fat burning mode!

Take care 😊

Low carb should only be low calorie if you want to starve to death... Low carb High Fat, moderate protein....

Cream cheese and butter is awesome for boosting those fats , cream cheese if my new go to for cream sauces, makes the so much easier. We don't count calories but a nice product of being in ketosis is we are not as hungry as before, for me that comes and goes... I tend to snack on hard cheese like xtra sharp cheddar cheese when I have the munchies. Are you truly stalled, do you track your measurements as well? Just because the scale stopped moving doesn't mean you are stalled.

Wow, Jim!! That is great!!

And Suzy, I'm going to confess and say that I am stalled but it's my own doing. I read a lot, again this weekend and realize that I'm just calling what I'm doing keto. I'm having too much protein and carbs compared to the fat.

BUT........not now! As of Saturday morning I got up and started tracking my food in my app again instead of just guessing at what I was doing. So for two and a half days now I've been on the REAL program and my mouth tastes like metal for the first time in I don't know when. I expect to see a drop this week.

Hi Suzy ~ Yes... I meant 2-4 packages of stevia to make up 2 tablespoons. Since the stevia you use is quite sweet, I would suggest maybe only half that amount. Just make sure to sweeten to the taste after shaking the mixture for 5 minutes. I used a timer. (To make different flavored icecream omit the vanilla extract! Add 1 tbsp of coconut oil/1/4 cup blueberries/1/4 cup strawberries/1/4 cup unsweetened chocolate chips to mixture before shaking.) Enjoy!

I finally got out of the house after beening sick with a cold for a week. Did a 45 minute walk and now I feel great! It is an overcast day, but a warm snook (wind) came up... which brought the temp up 3 degrees. Then it rained just before I got home. Glad I had my unbrella!

Have a great day!

Correction: I meant to say...
A warm Chinook wind, (which comes up from the Pacific coast towards the rocky moutains.) instead of the using the word snook which means a fish!

I don't know how many times I think I know this stuff I don't need to track.. and then the weight loss stops or goes up and down like a yoyo.. carbs are easy to count. protein is an aggravation.. lol Most of the good snackies have protein lol

Morning Suzy ~ this is so true. I have the same thing with yo-yoing, when I don't track. I too have to watch the protein and labels. It seems everything has some protein in it!

Jim ~ WTG! You're an inspiration!!

You'll have a great day!

When I first started studying this I would hear of people eating cream cheese and butter by itself and I'd think what in the world??? And then I'd read about fat bombs and I'd think who can't eat enough fat??

BUT....then when you start trying to control protein and get enough fat it all suddenly makes sense!

I am actually going to make some peanut butter and chocolate fat bombs this weekend if I can find a suitable peanut butter at my local WAlmart. If not it's going to be chocolate and salty pecans. I need that extra fat and I need something to tide me over in the afternoon before dinner and I also think it would do for a sweet treat, in moderation!

Hi Leisha ~ I too was wondering about all that fat! Still learning... but I have found that fat does curb my appetite. This has been a real revelation for me and it really does make sense! Your fat bombs sound amazing!

Take care dear! 😊❤

I’ve been known to sit and eat slices of Kerrygold butter, Amish Roll butter, and/or eat spoonfuls of cream cheese by itself.........

gayandgrey ~ Really?

Question: do any of you experience bloating from eating too much salt? I went up 1-1/2 pounds after eating marble cheese, but now have gone back down to 181 lbs. I believe it was the salt content from the cheese that was the cuprit. So I need to read the labels! I've been using the pink himalayan in place of table salt.

Hey, first time on here. Started Akins 2 weeks ago. Not seen much weight loss. Staying under 20 Grams a day. Do eat SF jello every other day. Keeping calories between 1500-1800 a day. Eat alot of salad Iceberg lettuce. Really want to make this work. Would like to have the success you've had.

Samatha! I'm a newbie too. I believe that Atkins is similar to the keto diet, and we all are here to support one another on our journeys! 😊
