Sweet of you for sharing! I have learned a whole lot by learning about dog and cat nutrition, and learning many things that apply to all of us (as well as a few that don't work for one species or another).

Jem, how did it taste? Did you add it to water and drink? Thanks!

It doesn't have much taste but some may taste a little bitter or not. If you just mix it with water and the ascorbic acid, the tang from the C is all you'll taste and of course that depends on how much water is added.
It's really easy to just add to your glass.

I LOVE The Big Fat Surprise; I've always been an Atkins girl, but this book really opened my eyes about the "why" of it all. If you want a really great book explaining the genesis of the Atkins approach into today's morphoses into the Keto Diet and how to go about achieving it, read Keto Clarity by Jimmy Moore. It has changed my life. Low-Carb and Keto Diets are NOT the same.

update: caution

I have an update on my previous posts about Vitamin C and Lysine supplements. For about a month, I've been using them in the amounts I described earlier, and for the last two days, my morning blood pressure has been much too low, just 103/62 and 102/66. Later in the day, it rises to normal, but in the mornings, I feel exhausted and slightly shaky and I don't think the low blood pressure is good for me. If you've also tried lysine and vitamin C, I hope you'll proceed with caution, carefully track your results, and share them with us.

Thanks for the update, 40. I hope adjusting your C/lysine intake helps your low blood pressure.

I take 3g of C and 1G of lysine 3x per day. My blood pressure is pretty consistent--120s/70s, I haven't seen any big changes or had any ill effects. I hope you see improvement soon. Are you sure its from the C/lysine? Any other changes you've experienced?

I'm feeling great with more energy and sleeping good too. Some of that probably from diet also. I do IF and keto.

Thanks, Jan. The only change has been a month on the Vitamin C & Lysine. I'm gradually reducing both, and this morning, my BP was a little better - 110/66. Glad to learn you're using both and they're working for you!

Really dig into the research and learn about how good for you fats affect your body differently, such as coconut oil, eating an avocado, grass-fed butter. That said, since you already had partial blockage, it is probably smart to keep an eye on it over time and monitor your progress. Everyone's body reacts differently and if you are aware of negative changes, you can make tweaks. I really think you'll see positive changes, though.
