Congratulations on a great first DD! It sounds like you did fantastic, and I'll bet you'll be a JUDDD convert right away.

I haven't, but lots of others do have trouble sleeping after a DD. It seems to go away after an initial adjustment period.

Well done Shantonay. Like we often say, hunger is not an emergency. It is so good for us to rest our bodies from the continual feeding, I love the term Healing Day.

For me it did go away. It was rough at first because I only average 5-6 hours of sleep a night in general and only getting 1 or 2 was brutal. I can't remember how long it took for the insomnia to subside, but like Carol said after a period of adjustment you'll be sleeping like a baby.

Another reason to love DDs: knowing that I can have anything I want tomorrow (ANYTHING!) makes me really peaceful around food, even high-carb stuff that I try to stay away from.

I was grocery shopping today and had to pass through the pre-prepared foods section. There was a heated case of filled pies, some with yeasted dough, others with phyllo dough: herb-filled, meat-filled, spicy or sweet vegetable filled. Plus crusty breads. This would be enough ordinarily to send me into a resentful frenzy, but I just breathed in all the aromas really deeply, and smiled. Sure, I can have those. If I want them. Tomorrow.

Oh, I adore DDs.

For all the reasons mentioned. For improved health and vastly reduced inflammation. For having energy to spare. For giving me time to focus on single foods and learn what is best and worst for my bod. For making weight loss possible and even pleasurable. For proving I can be responsible for how much I weigh.

For making the scale my friend.

Mostly, after 15 months of maintenance, I love DDs because they ensure the clothes I bought 15 months ago still fit!

I did not "lose" weight. I evicted it. It is gone and it ain't coming back!

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

I did last week. I had the worst time getting to sleep on DDs.

However, yesterday was a DD and I had no problem getting to sleep last night (and about needed a crowbar to get out of bed this morning ).

I'm another one who loves DD's. I'm almost 3 weeks postpardem and couldn't wait any longer to get my rotations going again. It clears my head, gives me tons of energy and organization skills, makes me feel like a lean mean fighting machine, and the scale will thank me the next day (usually).

However, it does take a while to set in. I did JUDDD for a year before getting pregnant, fell of the wagon for a month or so near the end and am finding I can slide back in to UD/DD just like that with no major hunger issues. How awesome is that???

In the beginning I had trouble sleeping because my tummy was grumbling. Now I just have a lot of energy and don't want to go to sleep lol.

I think I have posted this before, but I am diagnosed bipolar, and i learned long ago that i could induce a hypomanic state by not eating or sleeping for 24+ hours. It came in handy if I needed to work a lot of overtime, or wanted to drive 19 hours straight through. I had no idea it worked for anybody!
