Update

I haven't been on here in a while, but I must share. I started June 3 ... 273 lbs, Type II Diabetic, Hypertension, laid around like a log all the time, no energy, hated life, hated myself ...

Saw my endocrinologist and he wanted to add yet more meds to my huge assed list of drugs. This came a few weeks after my 8 yr old grandson, who overheard me talking to his Mom, said "MoMo please take care of yourself so you are around a long long long time" ... Well those big brown eyes ...

I asked my Endo for 3 months; said please give me 3 months to turn things around. He agree, although hesitant ... but he doesn't know me and my determination. My Hemoglobin A1c was 10.6 at that time.

I went Atkins induction ... Fast forward ...

3 months later (September 6) I went back and at that time had lost 40 lbs ... he couldn't believe I did what I said I would do. My blood tests ... A1c is now 5.4 and I am off ALL my medications, ALL OF THEM. I have now lost a little over 50 lbs, went from a size 24 to a size 14. I am still going for another 40 lbs but I know I can and WILL do it. I love life again and feel good.

Wow. I'm impressed by your determination - amazing what one can do when the mind gets set to it. Keep up the wonderful work and prove your endo WRONG!

I don't need anymore proof to consider them pretty much a dangerous, addictive drug for many of us.

That's amazingly fast loss in your first 3 months (13.3 lbs/month). I'm surprised quite a few people here can lose so quickly, I've only lost half that amount in thr same time period.

So impressive..... thank you for the motivation. I am also in need of changing or else. My doc has given me 6 months to get my act together (if nothing worsens) or I will finally have to be on a high blood pressure med. ...... so not wanting that. I am also borderline with my sugar Beside the fact that I feel like crap most of the time.
