SUNDAY’S ROLL CALL, JAN. 21

Hoping everyone who went out to eat Saturday enjoyed those meals. .

Loretta, bet you and sister had a good time together after missing 3 weeks.

Anne, did your hives go away?

Babette, I’ll have to check out that St. Andre cheese, we liked the Camembert there at Trader Joe.

Susan, good to have a regular day at home, puttering.

That Nebraska Furniture Mart is one heck of a place, we went there for me to pick out a recliner that was a Christmas present, but of course we walked all over checking out this and that, there are groups that go there on bus tours since it is sort of unusual.

Michele, did you enjoy a warmer day? Ginny and Julie should have some improvement.

Doris that's a nice looking recliner. And who's that good looking gal sitting in it. Haha! Love the picture.

We had a nice quiet day today. Hubby took out an avocado tree that we tried to grow in our backyard. It was my sis-in-law's and was in the pot too long before she let us have it. It was one of the things they weren't able to take when they made there move. Now they are back she will be able to find another to be able to plant in her own backyard again. So we are sticking with our two citrus trees and that's it. Our back area is way too small for any more. I can't give up my garden space.

I have a sore spot on my neck so need to go apply a hot compress to it again. See you all in the morning.

Sharon, I hope you alleviate that pain in your neck, that’s so uncomfortable! I wanted to try to finally post a picture, Zach says the settings to post was not done right.

Have a good night.

Going to a memorial service at 11am at one of our clubhouses for a friend. He died suddenly and too young. At least it's a good way to go.

Doris how nice to see a picture of you and that recliner. Is that the one you purchased? Is that Silas standing at your side in the green shirt?
The gal I met with yesterday is just my best friend, well almost like a sister to me. We have been friends since 1986. She and her husband bought a resort about the same time my x and I bought ours and all of us being from the same area up near Chicago.
Thanks for the start up.

Sharon hope the hot compress does the trick. Enjoy your day.

Julie, yes that is a nice way to die. I would like that but I guess we really don't get a choice. Hope the service is joyful in remembering your friend's life.

Doris - you look so comfortable!

We have been under high wind warnings since last night, and the southern end of the island is without electricity this morning.

No particular plans for today. Need to get to work on some letters to elected officials about issues we have relating to the Navy's expansion here.

Yesterday we were too tired to cook, so went to our customary tavern for dinner early as we missed lunch as we were not hungry after munching on COSTCO sample at lunch time. We almost always order either seafood/mussels which is what they are known for, but I just wanted a sandwich so ordered a pastrami sandwich. OY!!! Julie....you would have LOL. I assumed it would be "something" like a pastrami sandwich you would get on the east coast since they did ask what kind of bread I wanted. So it came - MAYO and LETTUCE!!! and two or 3 thin slices of pastrami! I keep forgetting where I am.......

It is a balmy 33F up here today. That is our high for today with this warm spell we are having. Back to the deep freeze though tomorrow and more snow.

Love that pic of you in the recliner Doris. Looks like it is going to be a favorite position for you. Way to go, you deserve it! I saw that little Silas was almost in the pic.
I am sure he will want to give the recliner a try out.

Loretta, that is great that you have a long time friend with lots in common. So you are on the same page so to speak. Does a soul good to meet up with a friend like that.

Julie, RIP for your fellow friend.

Sharon, Ouch on that 'pain in the neck.' I hope you get relief soon.
Sounds like you will be back out gardening again sooner than the rest of us.
Too bad the avocado tree didn't survive.

Waving to All that follow...

Beautiful day here.......cold spell over! I went to Walmart and bought just a few things, then home washing clothes. I just finished getting my plane ticket to St. Louis for the big wedding. DH's granddaughter getting married in April. Flying up the 20th of April thru thru Monday the 23rd.

Doris, love the picture. Did you buy the recliner?

Sharon, hope the neck pain is better by now. Compresses always seem to help.

Babette, we have NO wind going on here today. Nice and calm.Cute about the sandwich.

Enjoy this Sunday all.

Photo was taken when I didn’t even notice, was testing recliners out. So was Silas. That’s why I didn’t smile. Yes, that is the one that the kids brought home.

Babette, is there power in the whole island now? I hope so. That’s funny about the pastrami sandwich, wonder why? Lots of good deli’s all over America, even here in the south.

Loretta, I had forgotten that you had run a resort long ago, that really IS an old friend for sure, nice to have that!

Ginny, glad you got your ticket to St. Louis, have you been there before?

Sharon, hope your neck feels better today.

Julie, very sorry about the passing of your friend.

Susan, glad you are getting a reprieve of extra cold weather today. We are having warm temps and chances of hail right now, the kids ran out to cover the pickup.
