We went to a new restaurant that specializes in smoked meats but in the mag they were written up in it stated vegetarians would be happy, as well as carnivores.

The only thing that did not include meat was a cheese sandwich and a caprese(sp) salad which was their version. It was simply a plate full of greens with a hunk of greasy fried cheese on top. No dressing at all.

I can usually find something to eat anywhere but this was the exception. There was no baked potato on the menu only fries and onion rings....BUT the hub ordered prime rib and it came with a whole potato and a mix of cauliflower, carrot, onion and red bell pepper.
Why they didn't have a vegie plate including these items is beyond me.

I said I would not eat there again and hub would just have to get take-out.

The Margarita wasn't even good. Too sweet and tasteless.

Oh yuck, Jem! Sorry you had such a crappy experience!

I had an extremely late lunch, so I doubt I'll have dinner tonight. I'll have to make those fritters tomorrow! I'm really looking forward to them!

I was planning on Mongolian tofu, but I had a super late lunch of the vegetable fritters. Man those were good! I'll be posting the recipe in the test recipe thread later!

Oh my! I made cpf flatbread for the first time today and I am in love! I used it as a vehicle for the baba ganoush I made I'm debating between eating this again for dinner or making chili. Decisions, decisions!

Yum, handbells. I love the stuff.

I made Sniffly Soup from Plant Powered Kitchen. It' so boring....I'll stick with my red lentil, cumin and carrot soup.

Can you share the flatbread recipe here?

I haven't been having much for dinner lately, mostly juice.
I've had some veggies here and there, but nothing exciting or different.

Sure, it's super easy. Nothing fancy at all.

1/2c cpf
salt (I use about 1/2 tsp or so)
2/3c water

Whisk together the flour and salt. Add in 1/3c water and whisk. Once that's incorporated, add the other 1/3c. Heat a little oil in a non stick pan (I use my cast iron skillet) over medium heat. Pour the batter into the pan and cook 3-5 minutes, or until brown. Flip and cook the other side.

I'm sure Jem has some better recipes!

Food just hasn't interested me much lately.
I'm going to try out a couple of different juice recipes for dinner today.

Sorry to hear that Nigel. How were the juices?

Tonight I had faux crab cakes and chocolate avocado mousse

Me too, Nigel. Sandwich for dinner.
I am just going to stick with salad and sandwiches and not force anything else right now....I'm just not into it.

I made a sunflower seed dressing today that's pretty good. I didn't add any specific herbs so I can just change it up PRN.
I intend to make a Greek salad tomorrow so oregano.

The juices generally turn out good. I have made a few that I just didn't care for...but most of the time, they are ok.

Tonight we are having spaghetti with TJ's beefless beef unless I decide to juice. I got up super early today so I will probably be hungry by dinner. For breakfast I am going to have a strawberry protein shake.

I was going to have some pan fried "scallops", but things happened and I wasn't able to make them. Ended up having some chocolate peanut bitter avocado pudding.

Hubs had his video swallow endoscopy yesterday and after two days without food wanted Panera.
There was nothing there I was interested in so I went over to Chipotle.

We got take out and ate at home.

Went to a local seafood place for DS16's birthday. I had a salad. Also made myself a grain free peanut butter chocolate chip muffin with vegan peanut butter caramel. Delicious!

I hope the salad was good. I am happy to just eat salad but if it's just a boring cheap iceberg and anemic tomatoes, I'm always disappointed.

The muffin sounds good.

I cooked up some lentils and brown basmati rice then added curry and coconut milk. Good combo.

It was okay, but the only thing there I could eat. I did snag a few french fries off of my sons plate. lol. The muffin was fabulous! Both recipes are from The Vegan 8. It's a pancake recipe, but you can make the batter into muffins.

Not sure what I'm having tonight. Maybe chili...it's cold!

Your lentils sound good!

Pho sounds good. It always looks to involved. Easy recipe would be nice.

We won't know the results for a week or two. Two days of fasting and no smoking, though (he cheated a little with the smokes), enough to make anyone grumpy.
Thanks for asking.

Beautiful weather here and no change in the near future. Sunny 70 ish. I love it.

70-ish weather sounds delightful! It was 38 Saturday, mid 50's yesterday with rain (and that made it cold!), and today is mid 40's. Wednesday is supposed to me in the 60's. lol!

No recipe for the pho, sorry. Went to a local place.

Hope Nigel is okay...haven't seen him for awhile.

Made cauliflower and potato curry, just threw stuff together no recipe. Turned out great. We were missing Indian flavors since we didn't have any while were were on our trip for the past couple of weeks.

Chili is coming up probably tomorrow.

I'll probably have leftover lentil/rice soup tonight.

I love cauliflower curry but use chick peas. It's a quickie standby.

I'm doing okay handbells, thank you for asking.

Last night we met my Brother and SIL in SA for dinner.
They didn't have anything much that I could eat on the menu, so I got a Mexican plate.
It was 2 cheese enchiladas, rice, and refried beans.
It was more like refried bean soup. No tortillas.
The enchiladas were tasteless except for the garlic in them (bad for me) and the rice was dry and flavorless.
Needless to say that I didn't eat much. I snagged a roll from the basket and ate about half the enchiladas and rice. No spoon to eat the bean soup, but the beans tasted ok, just hard to eat, so I gave up.
We are never going there again.
It was super crowed and too loud. Strange for a Monday night

We went there a couple of years ago and the food was great...the Mexican plate anyway. Wife got charbroiled chicken and sides and said it was delicious. I guess if you like meat, it was good. The bro and sil got steaks and shrimp and they ate it all, so it must have been good.

I am surprised I didn't get sick from the garlic. It usually does me in. So I got lucky this time.

I had a banana for breakfast today and homemade v8 for lunch, but I don't know what for dinner. Something simple. Have to put my thinking cap on.

Glad you're okay, Nigel!

I haven't had Mexican in a long time. Sounds good! There is a local place I like, just haven't been.

Last night I had a couple of bean burgers with avocado

I made a pot of chili last night so have a variety of leftovers in the fridge but it's supposed to be 77 degrees today so I'm thinking that we can go up to MOD Pizza and sit outside.
