Thanks doll! I used to ride waaay back when, before I had kids. It's nice to be licensed again. The kids are 20 and 18 and the 18 yr old boy wanted to learn how to ride. We got a super deal on an 86 Honda Rebel 450. It's old, but it's also pretty rare, as they were only produced in 1986 and 87. Other Rebels are all 250's.

Thanks Tammy. Yeah those lil buggars are lucky to have me for their momma. They are good kids. I figured if my son wanted to ride, I was going to make sure that he went about it the right way. Which is the reason for the basic safety rider course! My mother flipped her lid when I got my first bike when I was 20 and married, living out of the house. "What are the neighbors going to say?" she exclaimed. My answer, "Who cares what they have to say!"

She was worried that they would say something like how could she do this after her father was killed on a bike. Again... who cares?! They got divorced when I was like 5 or something like that. He didn't raise me, only ever had like one visitation. Plus, I should mention that he didn't practice safe riding. No safety gear, riding faster that traffic around him and trying to squeeze between two vehicles on the dotted line; one a tractor trailer.....guess who lost?

I am not him and I have and use common sense, and I wear safety gear as well. One thing does not have to do with the other.

Our boy is a good kid. He is a good car driver and is super vigilant. I taught both our kids how to drive and I always told them, I am not worried about YOU, I am worried that the other drivers who may not be paying attention. So you have to pay extra attention and be prepared.

Good morning!

Stitch, I'm with you....Who cares what anyone has to say?!?! Who asked?? I tell my husband all the time that the only opinions I value are His and God's.....everyone else can kiss my butt!!!

It's been a busy week here, but all is well. We had out annual lender walk at the properties....but we were ready so it was quick, easy and painless! Eating is spot on and we're still walking every night. I'm loving my fitbit, I've really gotten into tracking my activity and movements through out the day and it really challenges me to stay more active. Last night I was over 11,000 steps....it helped that I had to walk both of my properties with the lender, then we walked on the beach for an hour....I LOVE walking on the beach, somehow that just doesn't seem like exercise at all to me!!

How's everyone doing?

Hello, my friends!! Sorry I have been MIA...I read posts on my phone but hate posting from there. Make too many mistakes and I am a lil' OCD about spelling and grammar..lol.

Motorcycles!! I have always wanted to ride...someday..I will have to do it on the down low because my husband says he cannot under any circumstances raise these children on his own. Men...

I am doing okay diet wise. Went camping two weeks ago with friends and I started strong, but failed to keep the chips and smores out of my pie hole. Gained and am STILL working on getting back to where I was. I am starting to think it wasn't worth it! I am walking a lot with the muttface and started doing some high intensity interval training on Mondays and Thursdays. It is HORRIBLE. But only 15 minutes. Hoping it jumpstarts something. I am really wanting to get a fitbit..might just go order myself one.

Hi Guys
I have been feeling down in the last few days.
I have not had these 'blue' moods in years...and this one came out of left field.
I had an encounter that I thought I had handled well but it appears the effect was still lingering.
Any hoo...I am still doing well weight (size) wise.
took these a few days ago when I went shopping for a smart casual dress ...well that was my excuse to buy still more clothing(I know y'all will get what I mean) LOL

Yep they can pucker up!

You are so correct, walking on the beach never feels like exercise! I always thought it felt more like exploring, especially when looking for cool shells or rocks.

Good on you for all those steps! Keep doing what you're doing!

Rob, you look amazing and that dress is adorable!!!! You have much to smile about my friend!!

Stitch, We were walking along Redondo last week and there was a school of dolphins swimming along the shore closer in than I've ever seen before....it was really amazing! They were so close in that people were swimming out to them (Not very bright) At any rate they swim parallel to us for a mile and half as we walked and when we turned around to walk back they turned and swam parallel with us again.....it was really crazy! I'm like a little kid at Christmas when I see dolphins and whales in the water.....and we get a lot of that here because our section of coast is right on their migratory path.....pretty cool!

Oh my ladies, TGIF.....I am so ready for the weekend!!!

I hope everyone is doing well!

I'm up to my eyeballs in rent.....but I had to sneak in and tell everyone a secret.....


I WEIGHED 199.8 THIS MORNING!!!!!


I weighed 3 times just to be sure.....I'm not really claiming it unless I'm the same or lower tomorrow too.....but do you know how long it's been since I've seen any number below 200 on the scale?!?!?!?!?!?! Well I don't either because I went through a period of years when I didn't weigh myself.....but it's over 10 years for sure!!! For now I'm just grinning big.....if my weight is still below 200 tomorrow I'll be doing the happy dance!

Ours was gloriously lazy and relaxing....eating was good, walking was less than anticipated, but we'll for sure get a nice 2 mile trek in this evening.

Woohoo! I bounced up to 222 after a carb filled few days on the road, and am now down to 214.6! So much more work to do, but this makes me feel better! *whew*

This morning my scale greeted me with a 214. Once these vitamins kick in, I expect to be less...if ya know what I mean!

I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer. Mine is busy with baseball tournaments, college showcases and camps. Along with painting the living room. Trim is today, then I want to get the carpet cleaned before I move all the furniture back to it's place. Then it's on to the kitchen!

You are doing so well!! I am jealous!! lol! I am still trying...camping weekends are hard because we usually take food that is easy (aka chips). I can't seem to keep my hand out of chips. And when chips are offered I have a hard time saying I'd rather have some veggies. Going this weekend and hoping to stay close to on track. Tired of struggling with the same few pounds.

I totally hear that.....I love camping, but yes convenience food can be challenging!! Have you tried Pork rinds? As long as I have something to dip them in....salsa, queso, etc I LOVE them....they are a GREAT chip replacement. I don't like them plain as much.....but I find them to be a real life saver.....if you haven't tried them you should....they might help you out!!

A lady who started joining me in my walks,is now a walk buddy and she introduced me to this new route that I love. its an 8mile route and we do it in 1.5hrs, but she is away in Cuba till the end of the month, so I have been walking alone this past week.
We are in the middle of a heat wave.... and boy!! is it hot or what...I have been walking no matter how hot.

Rob, it's so good to see you!!! It sounds like you're handling maintenance really well....good job! Eight miles in 1.5 miles per hour? That's a heck of a pace to keep.....good for you walking in the heat, just make sure you drink plenty of water so you don't get dehydrated!

I struggle majorly at that punishing pace, but will not be the one to wimp out.
Walking at that intensity, has meant falling off the wagon that I now allow more often than during the weight loss phase, is without dire consequences...totally self defeating I know

We're back from a week long catching camp for my son and a week long of dining out. I refused to eat on plan as we ate at places we do not have here. I did not even feel badly about it. As a result I have about 8 pounds I need to drop to get back to where I was before we left for the camp/vacation.
It was totally worth it.
