THURSDAY'S ROLL CALL, SEPT. 14

Julie, I hope your phone works in the morning!

Ginny, did you get any phone call from your ex after all, today? Were you able to put your orchids back out again? I wonder about them....

Susan, I did show the mail lady and the turkey video to Josh and Buffie, they did get a kick out of it!!

See you all in the morning. Hopefully......

Susan, when I reread your post, I saw that you thought CBC might be repeating the same Durells we saw. But, if they are, don't they usually do that just before starting the new season?

Ginny....being nosy....but why do you want a relationship with your ex?

Thursday is our last day here before heading home.....probably to a lot of overripe tomatoes. I hate long drives. Always kills my back.

Well, have a good one everyone....

Feeling back to normal.........am going to do a little "me" shopping and then stop at grocery store today. Stores are finally opening.
Some traffic lights around are still not working and there is so much clean up to do. Our Park was very busy yesterday getting up trees, bushes, siding, shingles, etc. They did a great job. I had friends check my roof and it's 100% in tact.......good to know.

Doris, Nope, no text from the ex, guess that's it. Ha And yes, the "girls" are safely back in their tree.
Babette, re: your question "why",
we didn't have a really bad marriage we were just immature, we even used the same attorney for our divorce. I guess I'm interested because he's a bridge to my past and is the closest thing I have to family. I just like the thought of hearing from him, but the ball is in his court so to speak. We're not moving in together, ha.

Going to be a hot one today, already 87 degrees!

Have a good day all and one more thing Babette, would I ever love some of those tomatoes. Florida tomatoes have NO taste! So I never buy them anymore.

Howdy Ginny! Glad your orchids are safely in their spot, I've never known anyone who had such beautiful orchids at home! The clean up will be monstrous for so much of Florida, my friend in Melbourne still has no power, and her husband can't go back to work at Cape Canaveral because his bldg. has no power. Their rental was ruined so they are taking it apart now.

Babette, wishing you and John safe travel back home today!

Silas will be back later on. I have some chores to do, was trying to read but too much interruption. Those danged roofers call every day, two or three times, plus painters, too, because it's hot and dry with no rain chance. I had to use my fart machine on them yesterday several times.

Later!!

My granddaughter just called. They do not have any power and she heard that they may not have any til the 22nd. So, they're going to try to find a generator. Fat chance!
My phone service is working on and off so that's encouraging. I just heard that a large part of our park is still without power. They sent out an emai telling those folks to come to the large new clubhouse to cool off, watch t.v., bring games to play, etc., etc. it's very hot here.

Julie, I'm glad your granddaughter got through to you! I'm dorry for them with no power or anyone else with no power! We had to hire an electrician to come and professionally hook up our generator to a new fuse box when we lived up in the mountains, too many blizzards left us stranded with just the wood stove and candles, and was worth every Penney. I wonder how long it would take now to find a generator and one the right size is important as well. We had a whole house one, and satellite tv, so for several weeks, neighbors came to watch tv, lol. Maybe your kids there "know" someone to give them a deal? Good thing your clubhouse can be a safe haven

Julie, I didn't realize some of your Park was without power. I am so sorry. Really hope grands fine a generator, I don't think there are any here that's for sure. Lowes and Home Depot sold out before the storm.

I guess you girls saw my pics on FB of Walmart. I was amazed.
Loretta........our Walmart has absolutely NOTHING cold........shelves are completely bare. No fresh fruit/vegetables either. I stood there with my mouth open.

Went "me" shopping and that didn't go well. I think these "gal darn" steroids have cause a little weight gain, ha. Things were a little snug, bought nothing.

I went to Publix earlier to pick up some rx's and other than bread, everything was pretty well stocked. Lots of fruits and veggies. I bought some fresh fruit and some TV dinners. I rinsed off my car, it was yucky. It still needs a real car wash. All in good time.
But, I am physically exhausted. I think my phone is working now. I'm too tired to actually call anyone for now.

Sorry to hear that the Walmart was out of so many items, Ginny. Guess folks are all in a turmoil. Did the store have power? That could have been another problem. It sure takes a while for things to get back together.

Running out of generators is not uncommon. We had that problem here during the ice storm several years ago. Those with generators had trouble finding gas for them

Julie glad that your DGD got home safely and that your phone is beginning to work for you. Your club house area seems to be taking care of a lot of things right now.

Warming up here in Ky. Don't know which way to dress.

Yes, Walmart lost everything because they lost power during the storm. Had power today but so disheartening to not see anything cold and realize it all got thrown away.

Granddaughter and dh found a generator at Lowe's. Can't believe it. They hooked it up to the refrigerator and some of the fans.

Ginny, DS said he heard that Home Depot and Publix have generators not sure if they have any food there though. A food truck would be great if you can find one. That's if they have gas to drive around. Sheesh!

Still no power in South Florida, so hot and humid still and no a/c of course.

Julie, that must be the same in Lowes those places sell generators so they must have plenty.

Babette, it was the first Season drat! The channel was showing 'New' as it is on another station, so new to that station. It was the one we saw on PBS last year. Still funny though.

We are having a Indian Summer up here, really strange, sunny and up to 80'sF in the afternoons. A/C back on. Sheesh crazy weather. I am liking the sunshine not crazy about the heat.

Waving to All...
