Infrared grill recipes

Hi everyone. Have just begun - NK again- having given up on another way of eating. Already I am in Ketosis - it only took two days - tops. I have an indoor smokeless infrared grill which I bought 'cause I live in a poorly ventilated apt. and thought that if I could make some delicious grilled meats and fish it'd make my new keto diet much easier. Does anyone have one of these? Would you be able to direct me to some specific recipes that work with this appliance or favorite recipes of yours? The instruction book that comes with it isn't the greatest and I need to know how to do this right. Am always afraid of new devices.

Thank you so much. Am so relieved to be doing this. I think this time I will be patient enough to follow through. It's only taken me about 10 years of floundering between low fat high carb and the very low carb diet.

Glad you found it. I don't know anything about infrared grills. If you have some time, let us know how things turn out.

Okay Soobee. Am marinating some pork tonight to grill tomorrow. People raved about the recipe so I'll share it here if I am happy with it.

I too would love to see the recipes you like! I don't have an IR grill either but I have a lovely cast iron grill pan, I'm pretty sure that would do the job!

My grilled pork chops

Am so happy to tell you that our first attempt with this new smokeless indoor electric grill was a great success. This appliance is worth every penny - for me, that is. It's only now in my old age (70) that I could afford it.

Here's the recipe I said I'd share. It's delicious!
This marinade recipe had rave reviews for both pork chops as well as chicken breasts and I'll try it for other meats and veggies, i.e. kebabs.

1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/3 cup olive oil
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar (I used 1/2 teaspoon of Splenda Brown Sugar Blend)
pepper
2 pork chops ( I used 4 boneless with plenty of fat)

Combine all ingredients and pour over chops, placed in a glass dish or ziploc bag. Marinate overnight and grill about 6 minutes per side. Many only marinated their meat for a few hours and still loved it.

Many tweaked this. All still loved it One added 1 Tbsp. Liquid Smoke. Another used garlic powder instead of the onion. Someone else added crushed garlic as well. Another used lime juice instead of the lemon. Another used bone-in center cut port loin chops and still raved about it.

This is going to make a huge difference in my success, I think, on the Keto diet as I can grill meat quickly, easily and not be in such a panic about what's for dinner. I have never felt very confident with meat recipes before now except for some very old standby recipes which aren't low carb. Can you see me doing the happy dance?
Splenda Brown Sugar Blend: 1/2 teaspoon = 2 grams carbs.

Hope you enjoy it too.

nikkic - I certainly will, although I have never considered myself to be much of a cook. I get a bit tired now just thinking about it.
If I am still in ketosis tonight then I'll post my recipe for a chicken stir-fry that we had tonight which I really liked. I was careful to leave the carrots out of my serving but of course the sauce has carbs from the cooking of them I'm sure. So check back tomorrow.
Nice hearing from you.
